  • The backhand can be one of the most difficult shots to master in Badminton. In this video, Chief Coach Chethan of Star Badminton Academy gives a few simple pointers which will make the backhand very simple. The video focuses on the 2 main aspects of the backhand, namely, the swing action and the grip. The coach also gives some exercises to help improve your backhand.
During the Q/A part, we answer the question asked during our last video on Deception shots ( • How To Deceive Your Op... )
Finally, coach Chethan imitates a famous international Badminton Champion, can you guess who it is?? We provide the answer in our next video on Jump Smash Technique ( • 2 Simple Tricks To Hit... )
Star Badminton Academy is a premier badminton coaching center located off Harlur road in Bangalore, India.

This is the simplest, most effective and easiest explanation of the backhand clear technique. Other tutorials talk of pronating the elbow, but I never knew what that meant and consequently did not know what to do. You did not mention pronation once. Yet, it so happens that the exercise you recommend results in "pronating" the elbow. Now the other videos on this topic begin to make sense - even though they are not required. Practicing your recommend should improve any amateur's backhand clear
