- Hello and thank you for watching my video today. On this session I went back to a river that's relatively new to me as last time I didn't feel like I got the most out of it.
This was a full day session from dawn until dusk and it turned out to be very productive!
I won't say much here as I want the video to tell the story this time, so sit back, relax and enjoy.

Thanks mate that's right. It's crazy to think one fish capture means more than another just because of the tackle you caught it on. As long as you're enjoying it and the fish are being looked after then no worries

What a great day’s barbel fishing Dan! An enjoyable watch as always. I’m recently back from another rather disappointing week down the River Wye with just 14 barbel from six days fishing.
14 barbel still sounds a lot to me Harry mate! But I guess over 6 days you'd probably expect more.

Glad you enjoyed it dan, if you time that spot right you can have a good day, it one of the stretches i look after, we dont mind anyone digging the odd step in if it makes your peg abit safer as long as people dont go mad. Keep at em tight lines😊
Thanks Allan mate yes it's a lovely stretch. I'm still quite new to the club but I'm sure I'll get around and explore a few more lengths and swims.
To be fair there were good steps it was just slippy from the morning drizzle but nice to know.

Great video Dan, and i can understand where you are coming from regading alarms and snag ears. Having had two fairly quiet sessions on the Trent recently, i can see why they would be a helpful addition. I dont own any myself so would be interested to know which ones you use. There are so many available, so any advice would be much appreciated. Cheers, and look forward to seeing some more videos .

Well John was a nice bloke and 13 barbel on the trent he said he had the day before, crazy stuff!

is the trent going the same way as the severn as in no weed growth and looking pritty dead, i fish the upper severn and its in a right state
Haven't been down the trent for a couple of years now but it's always full of fish when I've bern

if its a leodis stretch it might be my fav river. the river name derives from the Old Norse hverfi meaning 'a bend, crook, turn',? i have had my best barbel from this river in yorkshire. love the vids. dont know why your sub count isnt higher

Cracking session there Dan 👏 like hooking into a bullet train, they've got some power behind them! I've had some of my best snoozes on the bank. 😴 You can't beat a early start & late finish but as you say it catches up with you.
Any reason for changing your Reuben scales to digital ones ?
That first run is something else! Ans yes I've had days where I've nodded off at lunch and woke up 3 hours later hanging off my chair 😂.
My reubens are still good but I wanted a digital screen so the camera would see it better and the reubens I have don't wind back enough to zero when I use my carp sling so I have to subtract. Just need to work out how to use them now

I’m sure it’s not as it seems , Dan is a bit advocate for fish care
You need to get yourself some proper barbel rods carp rods are to stiff in the action you wouldn't lose as many to hook hook pulls
Maybe one day if one of those beauties breaks I'll get some dedicated barbel rods but for now I'm happy with my light carp rods.

Your rods are fine mate, it's a lottery what happens underwater.
