I looked the helmet up in the Virginia Tech helmet ratings. The KASK Elemento may be "5 star rating" but out of 201 tested helmets it only ranked #61. Meaning that there are 60 helmets that give a better impact proctetion. For low impact, it rated worse than the average 5 star helmet. For high impact, it rated only average, compared with other 5 star helmets. Of which there are 116. If safety is your biggest concern, you might look into a helmet that has a better rating. Which will also be cheaper...
I have this new Kask Elemento. I've worn it 4 times an I'm not impressed. I have to disagree about the comfort and the padding. The padding is hard and you can feel it on your head. I have hair but can still feel the padding on top of head near forehead. I've rode with it in 15 c heat with a stiff northerly breeze and the sweat was in my eyes after 18 km.. Unfortunately I've worn it now and can't return it Why it's £335 is beyond me.. Not great is the best description..
I scored a set of ENVE SES 3.4 hooked wheels at my local bike shop that he had brand new in the back with DT Swiss 240 hubs. I’m not ready to make the move to hookless. I was blown away at how fantastic they ride set up tubeless with the STR 5000 tires. Absolutely love these wheels!
Castelli Aero Race 6.0 Jersey, Continental GP5000 S TR. They are great but not perfect. Contis arent as light and hold pressure as PZero SL´s. Castelli is just great for straight racing but LeCol Aero jersey version carries all the itens like Smartphone+credit card+car key much more secured throughout the events and training runs. Enve SES 4.5... still waiting on stock for a custom build around EXP 180 hubs and Aerolite spokes... Great video take on those products, cheers!
My wife has a Giant TCR Advanced 1 Pro with DT PR1400. 7.600 gr. I have a Aethos S-Works D-A Di2. 6.430 gr. I also have a Colnago M10 with D-A 9001 and FFWD F4R. 7.300 gr. They all ride extremly well. TCR is extremly comforable and steady to ride. The Aethos is EXTREMLY nimble and precise. Fun to ride! The M10, which may be considered as the most aero of oir bikes, also feels as the fastest. The thing os that the Aethos is the "riders bike". Built to be smooth and comfortable. It was with S-Works cotton tires "Turbo". It was actually too comfortable for me. I run Pirelli P Zero on it. Completely different ride. Changing not only the wheel set, but the tires also may give you a different ride. That is worth notice.
The best and most underrated feature of Castelli jerseys is the fantastic rear gripper design. The pockets overhang the gripper and the weight of the pockets contents really lock the jersey in place. The only jersey I've ever used that doesn't ride up at the back. Really wish Rapha would copy this!
Doesn't mean it's a better jersey though, the fit of this jersey on Dave was awful for an aero jersey. The Pro Team aero jersey is a tough sell at full price but anything less than £100 on sale and it's definitely worth it. I got a few for £45 at the archive sale, absolute steal.
@@MrHallTV which versions of their jerseys are those? All the Rapha jerseys I own and have seen have the gripper on the hem. The Castelli jerseys have the gripper well above the hem, the pockets go over the gripper right down to the hem.
I have a Kask but I don't like the padding. I agree it does not absorb sweat so you can periodically squeeze it out. This helps keep the sweat out of your eyes.
The Elemento is ok. As usual for all Kask helmet the rubber padding at the back does not last after a while it will came off. The helmet adjuster also after sometime difficult to tighten or loosen Bought it 22nd May 2023. Kinda disappointed in Kask Helmet this is my second Kask Helmet !!!
Yes, I've had two Kask Mohito helmets and currently have a Protone that's just under two years old. The rubber / soft cushion pads on the rear cradle of all Kask helmets always fail and drop off after a very short time. Shame as I love the look of Kask, but for the price, it's quite unacceptable!
Thanks, nice video. Is is just me, or his bike saddle is just a little too high? It seems that at the bottom of the stroke his heel is too high (the angle of the foot should be more towards horizontal position)
Be aware that the Castelli Aero Race 6.0 jersey doesn't have much in the way of UV protection, so if out in the sun for hours I'd suggest a sun protectant or a base layer. Otherwise it's an excellent jersey; had mine since 2020.
Another great video David. I always find helmet prices hilarious! With about £30K worth of tooling, 50p to manufacture and around £2 labour, I’m seriously starting to think about getting the helmet business!!...and don’t get me started on the pricing of riding glasses!!🤡🤪🤣😂🤣
Please review the Hunt Aerodynamicist or Limitless wheelsets! Maybe in a “budget wheelset” video with those and other sub $2k offerings. Sorry if the video exist, I couldn’t find anything like that of yours
About the new Kask and sweat dripping into your eyes, I've been using the newer Protone Icon this year and it has the problem - sweat pours into my eyes on every ride here in Texas. I can mitigate it a bit by wearing a headband, but eventually the dam breaks. Does anyone have experience with helmets that do a better job and channelling sweat away from your eyes?
hey dude can u do a video about some roadbike aero wheelsets in every price category from 700 to 3000€, cause i dont rly find a good aktuell video to this topic
What makes it so expensive is the amount of money they pay to have Ineos Grenadiers wear them. Plus, a high price gives people an image of quality and status. I bought a Kask helmet because it was a floor model and I got it for a great price. Well, "great" price compared to the typical cost. It is a very mediocre helmet. It pretty much sits on a shelf.
I´m watching TdF right now and theres an AG2R rider with the great Ibex 2.0 on but looks strange. HJC site doesnt mention a change or info on a new IBEX. New models soon maybe...
I purchased a mid range bike thought that was more important than spending eye watering amounts on accessories, bike looks so nice but I look like trash LOL
I have Castelli and Rapha jerseys. There isn’t any comparison between the two. Rapha may be comically expensive with a weird cult following, but the jerseys are excellent (of course, to each their own though). Brevet light jersey with 3 (three!) zipper pockets is by far the best all-around jersey in the market today.
We all know that helmet ain't aero. There's nothing aero about it when we look at what makes something aero. Speacialized and Trek know how to make a helm actually aero.
As a heavier rider, the GP 5000 S TR with the 70psi limit are very soft. When I look at how much tyre is in contact with the ground it’s literally the whole tread. It feel like I have a flattening tyre. Odd sensation. Have gone back to Pirelli P Zero.

Makes you sceptical of anything said by any reviewer really.
I am skeptical of VA Tech test when they rate full coverage enduro or downhill helmets below flimsy road helmets that leave half your head exposed.
@@Superfly1503 except he said 5 star and it is 🤷♂️
It’s often a trade off of aero performance, comfort, ventilation. My kids have a very well rated helmet but the Kask is arguably more aero.

I got 2 of the Castelli 6.1 jerseys for 35 each, in an old team design
I could pay Rapha 70 to by 1 of their Pro Aero jersey for 112

lol @ Kask. “Specialized helmets are $300? Let’s tack on 10%.”
I love SunGod glasses. The fit is fantastic and I find them better than Oakley as the latter lens will flake overtime.
I just started getting some of that lens flake. Very frustrating.
Not only do we not like long sleeves, some of us do not like long socks!
I have a racing carbon fibre motorcycle helmet that cost the same as this bucket, how is it possible they charge that much for a 5£ piece of carbon?
Same reason specialized et al can charge the same for a bicycle as a high end superbike... idiots will pay for them.
Great video, David, but your T-Shirt is your cooooooolest piece of equipment! Where can we get it?
Yes!
Thanks, nice video.

Yep, I noticed that, too.
He rides for more that 20 years, i think he doesnt know your expert advice on saddle height.
How do the 40/44 Reserves compare the the Enve 4.5’s?

You forgot to include the millions they pay to Ineos Grenadiers to wear their helmets.
Anything to do with cycling is expensive it's a licence to print money
how about GP5000 S TR durability? i had a lot of problems last few months (mainly small holes which fresh Stan's sealant didn't seal)

Where is that T Shirt from!?!?!
Love my Protone icon 😊 this new one is to pricey though my opinion. Great info David.. 😃😃🚴🏻👍
I thought you tested the helmet in wind tunnel in comparison with other brands. 😅
Do they fit over glasses
Your jersey is too baggy to be aero. Shouldn't have sized up.

The helmet would be worth the price if it increased my watts - equal to the price… 😂🙌🏽
Well don’t get the helmet for 300 that’s silly but do get the bio glasses for 150.
Got it :/
Looks like the protone
Didn’t carbon sub just implode, not sure about on a helmet? 😂
A helmet or any other partly open construction cannot implode. By definition. It can only get crushed.

Jersey to big
Mate you are Indian?
fuck me can I not afford even half of the cheapest thing here
Sidewall of the GP5000 is a joke. 2 tears in past 2 months, pretty pathetic. Almost as bad as the Vitoria Corsas.
There is a reason Castelli is cheaper than Rapha David, its the same reason Hyuandai is cheaper than Bentley.
The reasons are VASTLY different tho.
Try and race on some "RossoCorsa" products and then comeback.
