    Here is a suggestion. Instead of the hollow sheet metal spacer in the chamber, get some of the dollar store plastic cutting boards and stack them up to reduce the air volume the vac pump has to pull each cycle. You could also use some wood or other material that did not have a lot of air pockets. This would save time as the vac would pull down faster with the reduced air volume. Thanks for the great review.

      Thanks, that would speed things up. I have some 1 inch sheets of food grade UHMW polyethylene that would work. Trying to show what other's will experience if they buy one so I probably won't use them in videos. It has been a great machine so far. Thanks for watching.

    On the oil smell, pop the back off and see if you have accumulation around the exhaust of the pump or surfaces around it. I use a pump like this for degassing silicones and urethanes. When I bought my pump, I used the oil furnished with it. With that stuff, as it approached full vacuum (-25 and lower), the pump would spew a mist of the oil. Totally normal. I was at full vacuum a while on these projects, so it was constant. These sealing machines spend very little time in that zone before they seal and release it seems.
    Anyway, when it came time to change the oil, I found some “non-misting” vacuum pump oil and, true to its name, nothing came out of the exhaust when at or near full vacuum. I would imagine they ship these with the cheapest stuff they can find, not a premium oil.

      Thanks for that info. I will try changing the oil. I think it came with cheap mineral oil. Works great but after it gets hot there definitely is an oil mist smell. No smell in the chamber though. thanks for watching.

    I purchased this sealer after watching your videos and several others. You mentioned the oil vapor smell; When I received my unit, the smell was awful and it was immediate from the very first use, we had to move it out of the kitchen, this was after single or multiple bags. The oil it shipped with was rancid. I contacted vevor about it and they said that was normal. It was truly awful. I changed out that oil with a good synthetic ISO 100 vacuum (pump/compressor) oil and the odor is now completely gone. I used TRIAX Kompressor MV ISO 100 which is available on amazon, but I bought it direct from triax as it was a little cheaper and a gallon should last many years. 2+ months going and no smell, working great.

    • @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023
      @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023  Год назад +2

      I switched to TSI synthetic non misting oil that seems to have solved the problem with mine. I think it comes with mineral oil. I told them to look into providing better oil but seems the oil it comes with is just break in oil. I am going to do an update once I am sure it solves the misting. Thanks for watching.

      Mine has some oder from the back of the machine after a bunch of bags that appears to be from the heat generated by the motor vaporizing some of the oil and passing it through the pump vent that catches any residue. Zero smell in the chamber and no green bag you speak of. There was a plastic spare parts bag that had to be removed before using though. If you have smell in the chamber contact Vevor. We don't freeze fish so I have no idea. I though fresh fish had to be pre frozen for a couple hours before vacuum packing to kill surface bacteria. Quilted bags may help if there is air trapped. Only thing I have heard of about chamber sealers in general is if you're above 1000 ft above sea level there is a conversion factor required for accurately determining the vacuum level. Check with Vevor and see what they say. We love ours and not one bad bag yet. Thanks for watching.
