  • We are doing an LED headlight conversion on my H3 Hummer this time. For the sake of all that's holy, it's prudent we ditch the stock water filled and oxidized headlights. Upgrading not only improves the look of Steven, but more importantly, it improves night time driving visibility. Swapping out the nasty faded headlights for some 7" LED units meant for Jeeps and 4" LED fog lights too. They were a really easy swap thanks to Lased Design Gen 2 7" adapters and Gen 2 4" adapters. Hope you enjoy the video!

    Looks good! The one thing you can do for the fog lights is. You can take the blue retainer clip for the fog light wire off. Then swap the wires in their slots and replace it. That way you can plug it up and use the clip to hold it securely together. Or you can swap the wires in the new wiring harness. I had to do that for my wiring harness.

      I had planned on swapping the pins originally but decided not to since it took so dang long to add the turn signal and DRL wiring to the new harness. I will when I take the grill off to add the bezels once they come available again.

    I don't know why they don't even make replaceable lens covers for the headlights if they always go out like this.

      Why sell you just a lens when they can sell the whole assembly... I just sand them down to remove all the oxidation and shoot them with 2K clear. Look brand new and so far on my GMC, holds up to the elements after a year.

    FYI LED headlights are good but not in the cold snowy areas because they would not be heat generated to melt off the ice and snow

      I did not know that. Makes sense to me though.

    You know a cheap trick I learned if you want to retain oem headlights and get rid of the fog in the housing. Just drill two tiny holes(on the back side of the housing in an inconspicuous location) on each top corner and one tiny hole on the bottom one for evaporation and one to drain the liquid. I have done this for the last 10 years on every vehicle I purchase and it takes care of the problem?? I've never had any issues... The problem is is when moisture gets in the headlight housing it constantly evaporates and turns back into a liquid and in condensates and so on and so on again and again on a endless cycle and the moisture cannot escape. What's the headlights are turned on evaporates the liquid and leaves the housing.

      I’ve thought about that before but was afraid of having dirt get inside the housing. Has that No been an issue with yours??

      @@jazzlejohnson5364 I've been mud riding in my h3 several times and if not noticed any mud. If you go through a car wash it may fog up again but it only takes 30 minutes of driving with the headlights on and the heat from the halogen bulbs vaporizes the condensation.

      @jessebk20 _ I’ll have to try that out on my 99 Silverado. Thanks for the tip and appreciate you taking time to comment.

      @Mikhail Demyanenko, thank you the view and the comment. Apologies for the late response, it’s been a hectic couple weeks here. I had to go back and check the video but the turn signal bulbs are Sylvania LED 3157A.

    Where did you buy the mounting ring for the headlight. With the 3 clips

      I used 4H3Stuff on Etsy Hummer H3 Headlight Adapters for 7" round headlights shipped a day after paying. I first tried Lased designs and three weeks after paying and after countless emails, I still have heard nothing from them.

      I picked up the adapters from Lased Designs. Should be a link in the description you can follow. Took a while for me to snag these adapters. Pretty sure it's one guy making these parts and will show available when he has a stock built up. I'm still waiting to get some bezels to finish off the install.

    Hi...how the installation has worked so far?

    • @jazzlejohnson5364
      @jazzlejohnson5364  3 года назад

      Installation went great. Longest part of the install was just keeping the wiring neat and tidy. The lights work great. Still waiting for the filler panels to restock so I can get my hands on some to complete the front end…for now.

    • @jazzlejohnson5364
      @jazzlejohnson5364  Год назад

      Great so far. Only issue I’ve had is the fuse tap for the harness needed cleaning. Headlights wouldn’t turn on, just the halos and fog lights. Cleaned the connection and worked fine.
