    I am a 30+ yrs otr truck driver. I have driven through every state in the USA. I use 80/100watt bulbs in my standard headlights. I use HELLA motorcycle headlights with 90/130watt bulbs, mounted on top of my cab. The beam pattern for motorcycles and cars are different. These work fantastic on highbeam out to about 1mile. The low 90w lowbeams are great for hills where your standard headlights are pointing up, the overhead lowbeams are pointing down. Works great for curves just over the hill. I actually made adjusting screws for the top mounts. In onder for your lights to do a good job they must be aimed correctly and stay that way. Most vehicles on the road at night have headlights that are very poorly aimed. The only way to aim your lights is at night on a empty road. Good luck to you all. Safe driving!

      If you got caught running lights on top of your cab here in the United States, The state trooper that stops you will quite possibly literally butt rape you on the hood of his car.
      You would have to be out of your mind to run something like that on the highway here.

    The cheap LEDs can be used as a great upgrade, if you've got an older vehicle with 4 sealed beams. Just put two of them in place of the high beam bulbs and you get a massive upgrade that you only turn on when there's no traffic in front of you. Safe, effective, and dramatically less expensive than all the bulbs this channel recommends. I did this with my trucks 4x6" bulbs, using LED headlights this channel claimed were terrible, and the improvement was massive. Now I'm looking for some 7" bulbs for my Mercury, and I'm probably going to go the same route.
    They also didn't talk about which of these bulbs will fit in old sealed beam applications, as they claimed at the beginning of the video.

    Wouldn't a LED loke these Angels Eyes drain so much from a Motorcycle alternator, causing it to fail early? Also, doesn't it produces too much heat? Sorry if my questions sound stupid, I'm new to it.

    • @HeadlightRevolution
      @HeadlightRevolution  Месяц назад +1

      Great questions-no need to worry, we’re happy to help! LEDs, like Angel Eyes, actually require significantly less power than traditional halogen bulbs, making them much more efficient and easier on your motorcycle's alternator.
      As for heat, a well-built LED unit will include a proper heat sink to manage and dissipate heat effectively, so overheating isn’t a concern. However, with low-quality lights, the heat sinks might not be as efficient, which could lead to premature failures.
      If you stick to high-quality LEDs, you’ll get better performance, efficiency, and reliability for your motorcycle.

      @HeadlightRevolution  2 года назад +3

      Hey Joe! Thanks for your comment. I have no personal experience with the "Mad Hornets" brand housing that you mentioned but judging off the name and the fact that I haven't heard of it personally, I can only imagine the performance may not be as desired.
      For a retro motorcycle, the Holley housing is PERFECT for that period-correct look while boosting your light output for safer riding. They will be loads brighter than the factory sealed beam housing and you'll hardly be able to tell it's an aftermarket housing! I run one single 7" on my Cafe Racer and it is absolutely perfect.

    Just going off beam pattern alone, I'm surprised that the Auxbeam headlights weren't rated better. They have a beam pattern that easily equals the Morimoto Super 7 2.0 and the factory JL/JT factory LEDs, and they're putting out more light than many other options too. In your video the Auxbeam pattern is certainly far better than any of the higher rated options from KC and JW Speaker. I don't think that first set of Auxbeam headlights is really any more juvenile looking than the Michael Bay Transformer-eyes Super 7 2.0s.
    I ran a set of Trucklites in my JK for about a year but ended up going back to the factory halogens because the Trucklite beam pattern was so uneven and I just couldn't get past the noticeable "V" hot spots. We recently picked up a 2021 JLU with the factory LED headlights and they're just so good! It has me wanting to upgrade the headlights in our JK (again). I really like the wide, even pattern of the Morimoto Sealed 7, I just wish they had more foreground light so I wouldn't need to run my fog lights all the time to fill in the foreground.
    I would love to see you guys add some of the options from Oracle Lighting into the comparison. They have a Bi-LED model similar to the Super 7 as well as a JW Speaker looking competitor. Given Oracle's popularity I was kind of surprised to see they weren't included.

    Has the 7” eagle lights ( led ) been tested?

  • @seanseoltoir
    @seanseoltoir Год назад +1

    Pretty good review, but you should have specified a few more things about your testing scenario:
    1. Brand and model of the lux meter
    2. Distance between headlights if you were using 2 headlights at a time
    3. Distance from the headlight(s) to the ground
    4. Angle of the mounting plate with respect to the ground
    5. Distance from the mounting plate to the base surface (wall) that you were measuring the lux off of
    That way, someone could duplicate your testing procedure with their headlights to determine how they compare.
    My first car had a 6V electrical system. Any light that is better than that is great...

      Are there any good LED replacements for auxiliary lights, like the extra ones we use in Europe & Australia, as well as off-road - with H1’s or H3’s? Asking as the LED’s with a fan at the back won’t fit due to their total size/length.

    Would be nice to see a non-projector series. The aluminum around the projectors is usually quite thin and usually only has a set amount of hours that it will work for and generally speaking it is not serviceable. So the 900.00 lights get thrown in the trash eventually. Most if them will last 5 years depending. So it would be nice to drop some money on serviceable lights.
