Gloryhammer is a band whose songs and albums follow a story set in Scotland and in space. Dundee, Cowdenbeath, Dunfermline, Aberdeen, these are all real places in Scotland.
Anyways, allow me to relay to you the story of Gloryhammer as told album-by-album
*Album 1 - Tales from the Kingdom of Fife*
The city of Dundee is a peaceful place, before it is suddenly attacked. Fireballs and lightning rain from the sky, and an army of goblins alongside undead unicorns storm the settlement. The townsfolk have little chance, and the princess Iona McDougall is imprisoned in the Citadel of Dundee. Once the battle is all but won, the evil wizard Zargothrax enters his new domain, riding atop an undead unicorn of war. Angus McFife, the crown prince of Fife, has fled, and has vowed to kill Zargothrax for his crimes. He travels North, to the snow-capped mountains, and retrieves the Hammer of Glory from its shrine. His next stop is the Village of Wizards, where he joins forces with the Magic Dragon. He then ventures East, to the town of Crail, and employs the help of the legendary Knights of Crail, never before bested in battle. Finally, the stage is set: on the fields of Fife, riding the skies atop the Magic Dragon, Angus McFife leads the Knights of Crail against the forces of Chaos. At the same time, from the North, the Barbarian Warrior of Unst, the Hootsman, joins forces with Angus! Together they go to the Citadel of Dundee, where Zargothrax is hiding. With the help of the hermit Ralathor, the two heroes navigate the Dwarven tunnels and do battle with the evil wizard. Zargothrax is cast into a frozen pool of liquid ice, frozen for eternity, allowing Angus McFife to hold aloft the Amulet of Justice, freeing the unicorns from their spell of undeath, and freeing Iona McDougall from her frozen prison.
*Album 2 - 1992: Rise of the Chaos Wizards*
A thousand years have passed since Zargothrax was imprisoned in ice. On Triton, moon of Saturn, the Space Knights of Crail watch over the evil sorcerer's prison. But woe! A Cult of Chaos Wizards attacks and wipes out these once legendary heroes! Zargothrax is freed, with the power of cosmic magic flowing through his veins! He immediately sets off, aiming for the Darkstorm Galaxy to enact his evil plans! He converses with the Goblin King, who gives Zargothrax a Crystal Key to take to the Dwarven Caverns beneath the Ancient Citadel of Dundee. Meanwhile, the descendant of the great hero, Angus McFife XIII, has heard of Zargothrax's breakout and must gather his allies. He goes to the land of Hollywood, where the Hollywood Hootsman, now an immortal cybernetic barbarian warrior, joins forces with the hero who shares the name of his old friend. The Questlords of Inverness pledge their support, and Angus reforms the Space Knights of Crail, this time under the command of a holographic reconstruction of Grandmaster Proletius, who led the Knights a thosuand years prior. Now, the stage is set: the demonic forces of Chaos battle with the forces of Justice in the skies of Mars! But in the Dwarven Caverns beneath the Citadel of Dundee, a far more sinister machination is afoot... Zargothrax begins to recite the dread incantation which will unlock the Chaos Portal to the thirteenth Hell dimension, calling forth the Elder God Kor Virliath to devour the Galaxy! As he places the Goblin King's Crystal Key onto the altar, the ancient runes begin to glow on the surface of the portal! Once again, the ancient hermit, Ralathor, seeks out our gallant heroes to warn them! It is too late to move the battle to planet Earth... so, the Hootsman makes the ultimate sacrifice. Faster than a laser bullet, he flies to Fife. He detonates his nuclear heart, powered by a neutron star, and destroys our human earth! The implosion is so powerful, it forms a dimensional tear in the galaxy, through which Zargothrax and Angus McFife XIII plunge through...
*Album 3 - Tales from Beyond the Galactic Terrorvortex*
Angus McFife XIII lands in the middle of a battlefield. Battle is all around, and he recognises the standards! The town of Dunkeld flies the banner of Fife, and the invading army was flying the banner of Zargothrax! But... Dunkeld is close to failure? And Zargothrax himself is leading the charge against the Forces of Justice!? Angus raised his Hammer of Glory and released a battle cry, charging intot he fray and making a beeline for the evil wizard! Zargothrax laughs and, with the ease of a God, bats away the Hammer of Glory! Angus is powerless, and must flee the battle for his own life... leaving Dunkeld to be taken over by the seemingly invincible hordes of demons and goblins. Soon, Angus learns of what has transpired. Zargothrax arrived in this time period months ago, and systematically took over the land of Fife, subjugating all of its peoples to his will. Even Ser Proletius became corrupted by the Knife of Evil, and is the Dreadlord of the Deathknights of Crail.
The hero also learns of the resistance movement known as the Hootsforce, who worship the Astral Demigod of Unst. He follows the directions to Achnasheen, the Land of Unicorns, and meets with an old friend... Ralathor! Now a Sub Commander, leading the Hootsforce. Together, they devise a plan. First: Angus must re-power his Hammer of Glory, which seems to be powerless in this reality. Angus is told of an ancient riddle, which most believe to be a set of instructions to an artefact... that artefact turns out to be a Legendary Enchanted Jetpack! With the Jetpack, Angus flies into the air, and charges the Hammer of Glory with the solar power of this reality's sun. He returns to the fields of Dunfermline, where the Hootsforce have brought out their secret weapon: a flying nuclear submarine! The battle begins, the Hootsforce against the Forces of Chaos. The battle is going well for our heroes... but then the battlefield falls silent, as the Black Gates of the Forces of Crail open wide. Atop a horde of undead eagles, the grim army of the Deathknights of Crail ride out into the fray. And at the vanguard of this terrible host, rides the Grandmaster himself: Dreadlord Proletius! But the Deathknights are unable to get far before a nuclear missile is launched at them from Ralathor, and the Deathknights are vaporised, the once-heroic Proletius alongside them.
But Zargothrax is too powerful! His ascension to Godhood is imminent! Everybody will be forced to bow down to him... but wait! From the heavens, comes a hero... the mighty Hootsman! When Angus McFife XIII had chased Zargothrax through the Terrorvortex, he had sensed a third presence... but had not thought it possible! The Hootsman had ascended to Godhood himself! Now, with the force of the Hammer of Glory, and the power of Hoots, Zargothrax is finally killed!
    ... but at a cost.
As Zargothrax dissolves into liquid dust, Angus McFife XIII realises too late that he, himself, has been impaled by the Knife of Evil. He knows that he is close to being corrupted, just like Ser Proletius... and so he decides to make the ultimate sacrifice, for the glory of Dundee. He sacrifices himself in the raging volcanic fires of Scheihallion!
And that is the story thus far. There are (I believe) 11 albums planned by this band, with the next album in the works being titled Return to the Kingdom of Fife.

Gloryhammer is a conceptual Band with the álbuns revolved around stories in a fictional Scotland, it definitely worth listening while reading the lyrics to get the story, it is a lot enjoyable and a crazy ride.
You have the the hero Angus Mcfife(vocals), The Hootsman(bass), Sir Proletius(Guitar), Ralathor the hermit(drums) and The Evil Wizard Zargothrax(keyboards), and each album represent a piece of story.
Tales from the Kingdom of Fife is the first album and shows the story of Angus and how Zargothrax conquered Dundee.
Space 1992: Rise of the Chaos wizards is the second and happens 200 years in the future, where dundee conquered space, and humans spread towards the galaxy, but an order of chaos wizards had rise.
And this is from the third album, Legends from Beyond the Galactic Terrorvortex. ir happens directly after the second album and it passes in a different timeline kind of multiverse.

To be fair Gloryhammer include a lot of Games Workshop references in their lyrics (plenty of Warhammer Fantasy & Warhammer 4k in there).

Sabaton is a band from Sweden. Joakim, the lead singer, is a baritone. If you haven't heard them yet, I recommend starting off with "40:1 (Live at Woodstock 2012)", "Primo Victoria", "Screaming Eagles", "To Hell and Back", "The Red Baron", "The Attack of the Dead Men", and "82nd All the Way."
Sabaton is "History Metal" and most of their songs are catchy as hell. I really recommend them. 🤘😁🍺
    Liked and subbed!

Idk how much glory hammer you’ve listened to but their songs are so much fun! Another group I’d recommend checking out if you have time is Sabaton; they do historical rock/metal.

Ur getting warhammer wibes because u are seeing the chaos star. However, warhammer took the chaos star from Moorcock's dark fantasy books even earlier. And i'm pretty sure it was used in folclore and mythology way before that as well.
Locations that they name, are all towns of Scotland. And the lore is all discography, not just this song.

Probably will get overlooked but I highly recommend a band called Twilight Force and their album Tales of ancient prophecies. Another good power metal band is Blind Guardian.

Oh yeah, I've gotta catch you up to speed with the story
*Album 4 - Return to the Kingdom of Fife*
In the original dimension, Angus McFife has made great strides in rebuilding after the devastation caused by Zargothrax, now sealed in a tomb of liquid ice and kept under guard by the Knights of Crail in their Citadel in the East. However, across cosmic winds of multiple dimensions, the dying screams of a malevolent sorceror from the Terrorvortex Dimension materialise, and those screamed commands trigger a chain reaction.
You see, a thousand years ago, Zargothrax had once been just a simple peasant, using his simple magics to weave baskets in his favourite fields. However, the great Lord Dundax soon arrive and created the Citadel of Dundee, destroying Zargothrax's home in the process. A pact with Chaos, with the Elder God Kor-Virliath, granted Zargothrax unimaginable power. Before attacking Dundee, Zargothrax sealed nuclear clones of himself below the Citadel of Dundee, to be awakened at the moment of his death. Now, Zargothrax has died, and his clone is awoken in his original dimension. This clone sets off a nuclear detonation, destroying Dundee, the Kingdom of Fife, and Angus McFife himself. However, Angus's son, Angus McFife II, is rescued and returns, 40 years later, to a nuclear wasteland which had once been his home.
Angus meets with the Wasteland Warrior Hoots Patrol, led by the Hootsman, who roam the wasteland on their nuclear motorbikes and slaughter goblins. They reunite with Ser Proletius, whose Knights of Crail had retreated to theri Citadel and with the help of their nuclear robots have guarded the still-frozen Zargothrax of this dimension. Together, they learn of a new legend, of the third of the Artefacts of Power. Angus wields the Holy Flaming Hammer of Unholy Cosmic Frost. The Zargothrax frozen in ice wields the Knife of Evil. Now, the Vorpal Laserblaster of Pittenweem has had its location revealed, and now joined by the hermit Ralathor, our heroes set off in search of the one thing that can stop the evil clone of Zargothrax!
In the tunnels beneath the ruins of Dundee, they encounter the Sword Lord of the Goblin Horde, whose sword holds the key to finding the Laserblaster. He and Angus duel, and Angus is victorious. Yet, the Sword Lord warns them: should they ever reveal the secrets of the blade in the future, they will die. Now, Ralathor is a smart cookie, so he opens up a portal TO THE PAST, where he has the knowledge to guide Angus McFife and the Hootsman in their quest to find Zargothrax when he originally attacked Dundee! And so, our remaining three heroes continue... but their quest is in vain. They open the chest, find it empty, and the nuclear clone of Zargothrax reveals that he followed them, and grabbed the Vorpal Laserblaster of Pittenweem before they could!
The clone rides to the Citadel of Crail and, armed with the Vorpal Laserblaster of Pittenweem, the Knights and their robots are slaughtered. Angus, Proletius, and the Hootsma know that their only hope is to seek out another legendary warrior: the Robot Prince of Auchtertool! With eyes ablaze with crimson fire, and great baronic wings! The four of them travel to the Citadel... just in time to see the clone free Zargothrax from his frozen tomb!
    *DUN DUN*
    DOUBLE
    *DUN DUN*
    WIZARD
Immediately, the Robot Prince of Auchtertool is killed by the Knife of Evil, and Zargothrax gloats that now with two wizards, Fife is doomed and Angus's attemps at combat are futile. But Angus will not give up, is about to charge for the attack, when the skies themselves open up... and the Starlords of Eternity make themselves known. They chastise the mortals for their foolish use of the Three Artefacts of Power, saying that they are not playthings to be trifled with. The two Zargothraxes and Angus ignore the Starlords, and the three weapons colide. So, the Starlords destroy planet earth, killing everybody. The Knights of Crail, the two evil wizards, the Hootsman, the goblins... only Angus McFife II is spared from this doom, and the Starlords beseech him to quest to the moon where he'll find a new destiny.

If you want to hear a powermetal band that doesn’t follow the usual stereotype of super high vocals, you should check out Falconer. Their song Northwind is one of my favorites. He has more of a stage performers voice and it is very unusual to hear with a metal band.

I always find it funny that Through the Fires and Flames is a common intro to DragonForce and Power Metal, meanwhile mine was Fury of the Storm.
