    My new favorite Christmas tradition: watching reactors discover this song for the first time!!!

    Yep, nothing says Christmas like a gospel metal to Odin, god of Ikea :) ( weirdest sentence I've ever writen, none of these words fit together ^^)

    What makes this even more hilarious is the fact that (in Gloryhammer Lore) Angus McFife XIII died at the End of the third Gloryhammer Album. Than came this Song and the Band confirmed that this is part of the Lore and Angus McFife was reborn as the God Angus McOdin, the Master of Ikea

    As a side note here, both Hammerfall and Amon Amarth are Swedish metal bands.

    You need to do Norwegian Reggaeton By them That song is amazing.

  • @lovrosedej7655
    @lovrosedej7655 2 года назад +44

    Man your patreons have some serious taste Dave. And no, your body is not ready. But you should give the rest of their songs a go, Uranus, Norwegian Raggaeton and "And then i noticed she was a gargoyle"
    The song as a whole has a bunch of bible references with a norse/ikea twist to it that im too atheist to point out, but you can clearly see how in the first part of the song they thank Odin for rape, pillaging, murder, etc. and then the big man himself shows up to tell them that he has changed his mind and is peaceful now. Similarly in the first testament god literally floods the world because he doesnt like humans and a bunch of other horrible things i cannot remember, and in the second testament its all about loving thy neighbour and forgivness and stuff like that.

    Because this's old I only have one thing to add to the comments and because of what you said at 1:57: Welcome to Viking Church. Might be Christian but that doesn't mean I can't appreciate other religions and this's why haha. I actually really love how they put a Christian spin/theme to the Viking religion(beliefs?) , it's as awesome as it is funny due to the context XD

    Nanowar of Steel is a parody band from Rome, so not all of their songs are in English, but they're all extremely funny, assuming you can understand them.
    The horse meatballs are a reference to a scandal a few years ago - someone tested the meatballs sold at Ikea and found small amounts of horse meat in them. I believe it resulted in some major fines to Ikea, but I don't know the details.

    I myself converted to Norse paganism about a year ago. And although this is an awesome and hilarious song, I'll say this: when it comes to the Norse gods, we don't have churches. Nature is our place of worship, and it's usually not done with congregations either; everyone has their own individual way of giving thanks to the gods.

      Very surprising based on your profile picture. Sadly a lot of the religion here in Scandinavia has been co-opted by white supremacists.😓
      Same with the viking re-enactor communities. They're really good, but I have several friends who were part of it, but quit because of all the neo-Nazi's and white supremacists joining the communities.😓😢

    So. Me, a German woman, came to your channel (followed it for a while because I like your reactions) to discover an Italian multilingual funny band with good musicians I have never heard about before, despite having Italian friends and having lived in Italy. Thank you! That's what I love about world connecting internet. And you have my abo now.
    This band is absolutely hilarious, they make so many references to lots of stuff and if you know what it is about they are even more funny :-) Not sure if there is anyone who gets all of their jokes, but never mind, there is something for everybody.

    They did have temples that they worshiped the gods in. For example in Uppsala, Sigtuna in Sweden there was a temple with a triple throne for Tor, Oden and freyr. Also fun fact according to norse mythology Oden lived in Sigtuna where he created second asgard and was king and father of svearna. The hammer Mjölnir.
