This is THE MASTERPIECE from Avenged Sevenfold
I've always said this song, not Buried Alive, is their Stairway To Heaven...although Buried Alive is really fucking good too
For me, Save me it's completely dedicated to The Rev, I see every song (except danger line) of 'Nightmare' for a tribute to the Rev.
Rev wrote all the drums lines and help Shadows at lyrics in the Nightmare, except in the track Fiction and So Far Away

One of the greatest pieces of music ever composed hands down.im old school metallica megadeth, Sabbath ,judas,Maiden,dio,slayer,sepultura,I appreciate the musical genius behind this piece.

This song is so beautiful in so many ways. It's a WONDERFUL ode to Jimmy. I absolutely adore how Mike Portnoy mimics Jimmy's drum style while also utilizing his own immense talent and adding in elements of his own style. The drums are extremely heavy and tasteful. The lyrics are phenomenal, the riffs, solos and guitars overall are exceptional, and the bass is a perfect foundation. It's all just perfect.
Well fun fact, Jimmy (The Rev) actually got his inspiration from Portnoy, so that is why he kept it Jimmy’s style.
So many time signature switches in this song, they transition from 4/4 to 6/8 without breaking a sweat
This is my absolute favorite a7x song. Seeing you listen to it for the first time makes me relive my first time heering it, love it

Best bit of song writing ever !
For the sake of everyone who doesn't know, The Rev does the "skull" part and the "they all know" part as well as the scream you hear in the chorus. He also sings in part of the first two verses and some other parts towards the end, but his vocals are scratchy because he had done a lot of screaming that he mostly didn't get to record since he passed two weeks before they were supposed to start the recording process..

Btw this song is about their drummer The rev! The first line "Sorry did I wake your dreams?" is like them asking Rev if they disturbed him cuz they are talking to him.
Dex Scene the rev helped write lyrics and also wroted the drumming for the entire album so yeah...
Not every song on the album is about the rev. Realistically fiction would be the only one cause I think the rev wrote it about himself, but even so far away was originally supposed to be for gates granddad who died, but due to circumstance it was instead dedicated to the rev.
It's basically just coincidence that most of the tracks lyrically give of the impression of being a tribute to the rev.
