FILM DESCRIPTION:
As a puppy, Bella finds her way into the arms of Lucas, a young man who gives her a good home. When Bella becomes separated from Lucas, she soon finds herself on an epic 400-mile journey to reunite with her beloved owner. Along the way, the lost but spirited dog touches the lives of an orphaned mountain lion, a down-on-his-luck veteran and some friendly strangers who happen to cross her path.

That was because Bella as a puppy was raised by a cat so in a way I think she feels that she needed to do the same thing. And that turned out to be a good beautiful thing because hey the big cat actually saves her. And I'm not going to lie I cried because just when I think Bella is about to die from the wolves big cat comes to the rescue
My favorite scene of the whole movie
She probably wouldn't have done that if she had never met a dog before. Bella's lucky. It's the oldest gag in the book, do someone a good turn and they end up paying you back. And yet it's still a good helpful moral to this day! ❤

The dog raised the cougar from when it was a really young cub. As far as that cougar was concerned Bella was her mother.
Cougars are Mountain lions , their just two different names for the same animal . This also applies to the names of Panther and Catamount.
When the cougar comes to Bella, she is very proud of her.

It might be because some zoo's, use support animals for big cats as kittens because the mother either died or is unable to take care of the kitten they usually get separated when the kitten gets bigger but not always. So yeah this could be possible.🐯🐶

If the circumstances are right, it's highly possible. It reminds me of something I read.
I don't remember how this went, but it was a poem. It was talking about a man in the forest who found an injured wolf and helped it heal.
When it was fully healed and went on it's own, the man came back to the forest. This time there was a bear on the prowl and the animal started to attack the man. But a wolf pack came and went after the bear. The numbers scared it off. The wolf the man rescued happened to be an alpha so it returned with the pack, to help him like he helped the wolf.
Man this could have such a major blockbuster if it was funded correctly. Imagine this on a major studio peoduction. Would have been a classic, would have been right up there with movies like homeward bound or lassie.
Too bad they changed the storyline so much to keep out of politics.
Agreed, it had tons of potential to it. Properly funded it would have been even better. I was personally fond of it but also saw plenty of flaw in animation and other aspects too.
But despite all that it was still a pretty good movie because of the story although it reminded me of homeward bound. But it could have an even bigger movie if a studio maybe like disney or 20th century fox produced it.

@Yeva Kiourkenidis wolves are strong majestic animals. I absolutely love them. But because of social media and other media everyone is scared of them. They live their life the way the instinct tells them. Wolves aren't aggressive. They are protective so they protect their family just like humans do

Actually they are coywolves. A naturally occurring hybrid between eastern wolves and coyotes. Coyotes don't hunt in packs.
2:59 this was actually the most touching scene of the whole movie. Everything else was meh or ok but this... was really touching. Mama dog once again meets her baby kitten
And to think that because she took care of the baby kitten cougar because the dog itself was raised by a domestic cat.

This movie litteraly made me cry. I usually am a tough person who doesn't cry, but this movie was just too good. This is now my favourite movie.

I don't think people realize how relatively low-budget this movie is, if I remember it's only got an 18 million dollar budget so it's not going to have the CGI of 150 million-dollar Blockbuster movie. All things considered I thought it was pretty good

I loved when Big Kitten came on the scene combined with fierce background music! Big Kitten is like you're not going to mess with my bestie Bella. Big Kitten gave them beat down. Then Bella and Big Kitten's loving touching reunion, rubbing faces to "Lean on Me". My heart! I love these two beautiful girls. :)

MrD 2001 Yeah because people are going to waste time getting wild animals.
Even if they were hybrids, coydogs are actually a lot more aggressive that straight coyotes. Coyotes are opportunists, but they despise personal risk, and will drop a hunt, even with live prey in their teeth, if they think they're about to get walloped. They like prey that can't fight back. Coydogs, on the other paw, are dangerous because they have a coyote's natural opportunism, but a domestic dog's lack of fear of humanity. We've long since bred fear out of dogs; they can learn it, even from the ground up, but the instinct to fear humans isn't there anymore after so many millions of generations of domestication.
Dogs and coydogs are also more social, and more prone to running in larger packs; coyotes tend to be solitary or live in very small family groups.
Coydogs at best, but I'm really pushing more toward they simply found some random mixed breed dogs to use for this. If anything some kind of northern breed mix or could have very well used certain smaller (or even young) dogs from the following breeds; Czech Wolfdog, Saarloos Wolfdog or Tamaskans. I personally would vouch Tamaskans myself as they tend to be much more trainable and versatile than the Czech and Saarloos combined though.
That being said, some of the dogs used for 'coyotes' in the film actually had very large prick ears with low hanging, "hook tails" and their movement when they were doing the "stalk the prey" actually highly resembled a Border Collie as well, alongside fur type too for smooth coated borders or mixed of a BC. So also due to that, Border Collie mixes are also very, very likely here too.
Being a canine behaviorist and working dog handler as well as moderate confirmation work, I've had to get used to identifying breeds and their structure as well as traits.
@@NotEeyore Congratulations! And my apologies if I offended; I meant wild coydogs, like you find outside of LA, not hand-raised. The coyotes out there breed with the strays all the time, and the resulting hybrids are a problem.

Cougars when full grown are terribly muscular and they share a lot of DNA with certain members of the big cat family that routinely bite through the skulls of crocodiles. The fact that Bella was in her good graces means those coyotes are incredibly lucky that big kitten didn't make a meal out of them but I'm pretty sure eventually big kitten caught up with them and finished what she started.
