I unsnagged a crankbait and it came flying towards my face so I punched it, somehow got no hooks in me but broke it lol
Stop the cap
Yeah it happened to me with a lipless as well. But I gave it a street fighter style headbutt... got a nice 4 treble point piercing in my eyebrow from that move......
Karate
Used the bow method today while shore fishing and kept me from getting wet. Thanks.
I wish I would of seen this sooner it might have saved me a $100 or two lol
Matthew Walker really?! The best lure 1 lost was like a rusty crankbait and it was trash!
$100 or $2?
Yeha I know right
OH MY GOODNESS YOU’RE A LIFESAVER! I THOUGHT MY ROOSTERTAIL WAS A GONER!! THANK YOU SO MUCH MAN! I LOVE THAT FRICKIN LURE! I’M BOUTTA SUB RIGHT NOW!!
Awesome. Thanks for the feedback Red Vaporizer!
The only downside to all of these techniques is that while you are busy getting your lure un-stuck, huge fish are jumping out of the water behind you. Example at 7:06 :)
It's called, "Giving you the fin!"
the last tip worked. just tried fighting it for about half a hour and nothing worked. glad i came across your video! thank you
Glad it helped!
The second one worked!
Thanks for the advice, I ended up losing $10 in hooks within an hour of each other due to just starting out fishing, and knowing no way to get the hook unstuck, can't wait to try applying these methods.
I use that last one every single time and it always has worked for me 😎👌🎣
Gonna give these methods a shot next time. Thanks.
My mate just got snagged and the bow and arrow technique worked now bow and arrow op
bassResource is the best for bass fishing tips
Ludo Lafond Thanks!
Something that a lot of people over look but very helpful
Anthony Kaiser Thank you! And thanks for watching!
thanks im tired of losing my lure i'll have to try these next time
Thanks for the tips. I only knew the straight pull method. Which more often then not leaves me cutting my line, unless I get lucky and pull free, or sometimes bend hook out. I've considered tying a flourocarbon leader so could actually break the line if needed. ( I use 50lb braid, which I've been unable to break in a Kakay, even while anchored. )
Glad I can help. Thanks for subscribing as well.
Stop yanking on your rod.....I seem to recall my dad telling me that.
Lmao
Strait back with 80 pound braid, never lost a bait just bent and broken hooks
Lol this made me laugh my buddy is like this he brings 200lb test to fish for brim he will bring trees down ahah
thats what I did on one of my reels
lol fucken savage
damn that's one hell of a line if it can do that
oh sorry forgot to tell you that i put the rod down and only tug on the line but it reminds me of a story so i was fishing with my grandpa and when he got a fish as soon as he got it in the boat it broke 2 in off his bait caster
1:45 i got 2 treble hooks in the chin trying to yank my plug out of bullrushes last year. Took the hospital an half hour just to figure out how to approach it without leaving a big scar
Bass Resources puts out some of the best information put out by anybody.
Larry Lawyer Aww shucks. :)
Your a lifesaver
Me watching this while yanking onto my rod stuck on a tree: 👁3👁
I've always used the pull straight back method and it works great :)
I got a crank bait into my leg from doing that
Its easy on a boat ..i bank fish around trees and logs all the time and i learned less is more..great video it all works great
Very true!
thank you for the tips. many many times myself and others have these problems with different snags.
I just got stuck on some rocks in 6-8 feet of water. I tried the typical yanking I learned as a kid then found this video. The first method was unsuccessful, then I tried the third method and like you said, I was ready to break off but it actually worked! I gotta say I'm probably happier to have the lure back than if I'd caught a fish! Maybe not, but thanks anyway!
You're welcome Wes Moody! Thanks for watching.
Awesome video I liked the bow and arrow method and the 3rd one he discussed. Will define try try these next time fishing
Tim Matney Thank you! And thanks for watching!
My man you’ve earned my thumbs up and a new sub. Saved me at the pond while I got caught in a branch that was submerged! A million thanks and tight lines brother
You're welcome Allan.Jax! Thanks for watching.
You just saved my life, I am forever in debt to you. Liked and subscribed, thank you and love you.
Chip R, glad I can help. Thanks for subscribing as well.
I used these tips the last time I went out. Saved me about $15 and a brand new lure!
JWooPhotography Awesome!
Great stuff as always, Glenn!
Glad you enjoyed it
Thanks, Glenn. I love your videos, but I respectfully disagree with NOT using plug knockers. I use your three methods first, but I still need a plug knocker nearly every time out. Especially for snags in deep wood. I use 'disposable' Big Ugly knockers from an ebay seller and they work and work fast.
good tips man, i will try them next time i get a lure stuck.
bass resource gives awesome tips to all type angler ,no what age,or any level of fishing. awesome video and tips.thank yall for posting this video
Chris Smith Thank you! And thanks for watching!
I’m new to fishing and snag frequently. I’ll have to try that bow and arrow method.
Glad to help, @hawksfan95. Let me know how it works out as I would love to see the results.
The 3rd one helps for me the most
Thanks, All, I appreciate your feedback.
BassResource - Bass Fishing Techniques I usually get snagged when catfishing because the rocks are at the bottom and you have to fish on the bottom for catfish
I am amazed at how well the "bow and arrow" method works. I river fish in fast moving class 3 rapids and it even works there.
+Lyndon Durgan It's probably the #1 technique I use most often.
I'm sure these techniques will definitely come in handy!!
dougieboy420 Thank you! And thanks for watching!
Good tips. I like how you asked us to remember what you said about a spring in the earlier part of the video. Thanks dad. Lol
That's very interesting, have to try that next time I get stuck. Thanks for the good tip.
robert velasquez You're welcome!
Good advise should try it
One time I was fishing and I was using a red eye shad and I got a little snag but I just cranked that bait so hard it came FLYING at my face at like 65 miles an hour and some how I used matrix skills and blocked it with my hand and even my hand didn't get hooked. Amazing
You should buy a lottery ticket!
Glenn you are a great teacher!
+4_sons_fishing Thank you!
Tnx
I've found when the lure is stuck somewhere in the water, just pulling the line with your hands works really well, unless it's really stuck it there, it'll come loose or you'll put up a branch or two
That’s a good tip as well, Igor Sekulic. Thanks for sharing.
Great info. Will employ these techniques next time I'm on the water. Thanks
Valerie McKee Thank you! Glad you liked the video. Thanks for watching!
I also use a different bow technique: put tension on the line and grab line between rod tip and lure and pull on the line to put a bow in the rod and release the line to make the line jump popping the lure free
I was stuck on a rock one time and I was just about to break it off when I noticed my line moving. Not only did I get my lure back but a nice smallie attached to it.
The first one works great thanks for the awesome tips and tricks
you know i have lots of experience with snagged lures and i found out that the best way to get them out of trees or bushes is to pull on your line until either the lure is out your not gives or the branch brakes so far it has worked every time with the knot i use (the uni knot)
hay as i'm saying if you are in a tree or bush just grab your line and pull till it is gone or out so far it has worked every time for me
Watched this after losing my 2 good spinners today :(
Same,I was fishing in a river full of algae, logs,I got 1 european chub, but the 20th cast at a different part of the river got it fully stuck in algae,I tried everything I could,I had to cut the line, may my cormoran spinner rest in peace.Planning to buy another one or 2 mepps spinners
Plug knockr has Jackchain on it , used to hang lights . mostly the electrical field, found in electric dept in hardware stores
The last one breaks my line
REELSANDKILLS • same
Same here
Some very useful information, thx for sharing
Kirk Bell You're welcome!
il pull a bit on the rod and flip the bail to release the pressure and that usually shakes it free
I got hooked in the forearm bc I was bank fishing and got hung up on a tree branch from where they pushed the trees in water for some structure I pulled back on it n when it finally came free it was a missile with a treble hook. It caught the inside of my forearm bc my 9 yr old son would've been the one getting hit so I stuck my arm out to get him behind me and that's when it flew back at mach 80
Geoffrey Rogers please never pull off a snagged treble hook with a 9 year old standing next to you. Common sense
@@kenz7520 screw the fact that he was doing that. That's awesome that he risked getting hooked by a big treble hook to save his kid
Very cool tactics! Save me a whole lot of money!!!!! Thank you guys for all the knowledge you guys have shared with us! Keep it coming! Tight lines!
mmhernandez100 Thank you! And thanks for watching!
I use this method of when getting hung up I troll over to where the bait is and reel all the way down and troll around the spot where its hung up and it pops free. If I loose a 8$ tungsten weight I am going in for it .100$ in just weights not trying to loose not one of them . I think everyone has their own way of getting un snagged . Sometimes if its a simple set up and I have 12 other rods sitting on the deck of the boat I will just cut line get as much of it as I can out of the water and power on. I spend more time getting whoever I might be fishing with un snagged
Was a cool lil info video..Thanks
EverythangsTaylored Thank you! And thanks for watching!
I do something like the bow with a spinning reel, where I load the rod up and flip open the bail, probably terrible for my bail but that violent action could get a whale out from under a rock.
That's a great tip too!
Thanks, sure helps in Pennsylvania, way too many rocks, anyone who has fished the susquehanna knows all too well
Nathaniel Gardener I have lost my life savings in those rocks.... Funny thing is I've only been on that river twice lol
Thanks for the tip. Had some close calls last trip, was thinking getting hooked was inevitable but maybe not. Definitely putting these techniques into practice.
Travis Wright Thank you! And thanks for watching!
Great tips!! Keep 'em coming!! Thanks Steve O.'s Fishing Tips & More!!
Steve O. Thank you! And thanks for watching!
Nice! Got my lure free with tip #3
Mach 80! Wow, that’s over 61000 mph.
I use the same techniques and use a lure retrieval tool when I'm really hung up
Me watching this while my 15$ lure is stuck
😂😂
Lost my whopper plopper on a damn pine tree branch 20 feet up. Lure just decided to go up instead of forward and grappling hooked the branch. Got half a mind to use a metal blade drone to cut the branch. Needless to say my hatred of pines has grown even more.
Excellent as always
FishN Chips Thank you! And thanks for watching!

Thanks for watching Nicholas Reynolds!
Great video. I learned something.
Jack Herron Thank you! And thanks for watching!
Love the video and I used some of this stuff over the weekend and saved a 15 dollar bait.
njedgell07 Thank you! Glad you liked the video. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for all the great tips and tricks! Have learned quite a bit from your videos!
Nathan H Thank you! And thanks for watching!
Had to learn not to tug on the rod if a hook gets stuck. Learned it the hard way, yanked too hard and my rod broke.
RIP My first fishing rod. You did your duty.
Great Video btw.
I remember one time last summer I was getting frustrated while fishing after being skunked a few days in a row. I had one of those berkley swimbaits with the build in jig hook on a medium fast rod with nice stretchy 10lb mono. It got snagged up in a tree and I tried the other tricks but they didn't work. So i started yanking on it out of frustration not noticing that my rod, line, and the tree were all loading up and when it finally snapped free it came flying back so fast I didn't have time to blink. My friend heard it hit my skin from 50 yards away and I had a red swimbait print on my neck the rest of the day. Could've went badly but it was hilarious.
Very informative. Thank you for the chance!
Carol Burgess You're welcome! Thanks for watching!

Anytime, i enjoyed it!!!
I was looking for this tip for a long time thanks for upload.
***** Thank you! And thanks for watching!
today i just lost one more, next time i will definitley use this tips
Nice tips thanks
Have person with rod up to pinpoint the location of hook, drive boat to opposite side of hook location, it’s called the corkscrew method
Nice tips!
Life saver right here lol
R.j. Hillman Thank you! And thanks for watching!
Invaluable information for me. Thanks.
Ron Gamblin You're welcome! Thanks for watching!
AWESOME tips - thanks!
Good advice on the yanking a buddy of mine lacerated a cornea doing that.
Excellent advice, thank you.
+Alex S. You're welcome!
Thanks dude, you helped me earlier today
Glad I could provide value. Which one of them did you find most helpful?
Great tips thanks.
I Love Fishing Bass Fishing You're welcome! Thanks for watching!
Good tips.
awesome tips
Great tips Glenn. I tried that line snap. I don't know how it works but it does.
Michael Barnish, glad I can help. Thanks for subscribing as well.
haha this helps me out alot.... I catfish most of the time and I was using a two or three ounce weight and I got the weight stuck up in the tree and then when I pull back on it really hard it hit me in the head and almost knocked me out I had a really big ass so I think I'm going to start doing this more often this is a good technique to use bass fishing or catfishing
Yep, it's that "spring effect" with tree limbs. Hard to believe branch, which fires AWAY from you when the lure frees, actually fires the lure BACK at you at mach 80!
Haha believe me I know!
This is good to know.
Great tips to get unstuck
Robert Greene Thank you! And thanks for watching!
Took a treble hook to the eye lid, I learned what not to do during that experience, lol
+Jake Thornbury Last week a took a half ounce weight to the ribs, hurt like hell
+RanndomUndead yea mine was a 3/4 ounce too... The black eye hurt more than the hook lol
lol, my problem was i was tree snagged at a high angle. wrapped the line around my hand(with cloth) and just walked until it snapped. Normally the line breaks and everythings all dandy...This time the branch broke and my rig became a bullet XD
Jake Thornbury I done the same thing. Yanked it out of a tree an next thing knew It was in my eye lid. My sisters started crying an my dad flipped out. Didn't know how bad it was till I realized have a centimeter of my eye lid was ripped
ooooohhhhh god that must of hurt and scared the sh*t out of you
thanks for the info, looking forward to catching something bigger than 5 pounds :D
Plug knockers do work for me zi make my own but this is good to know info.
Fred B Yes, plug knockers do work. My point was that you won't need them if you master these techniques.
Thanks!
Tyler Ansell You're welcome!
Nice and informative. Well done!
