ugh. i'm having one done soon. funny cause i had so much going on before that. acid reflux, indigestion issues, etc. and a cyst on my liver. went to gastrologist and he said THAT end was fine. now i'm seeing an obgyn who is scheduling me for this. i was sooo nervous cause a friend of my mom's who is just a tad older than me, late thirties had all kinds of issues with the female anatomy and also had early menopause. i hope i get through w/o all that hormone therapy crud they put women through at that age.

I got lucky with not having any complications other than a little nerve injury. I hope you have smooth sailing to feeling better. Good luck.

    Hi Dr Tiffany
Thank you for your insightful videos.Much appreciated.
I'm going in for my procedure on Tuesday.Im an in remission pericardial patient as a result of Covid.
I have all your pre op symptoms uv described.Iv waited a year to do this surgery due to my pericarditis .I also have multiple fibroids. The largest one is 7.5cm.
Please explain to me what's best way to get up from a lying down position to standing when you are in bed or off or on toilet.Do you contract your core muscles. Please help as iv had natural births so my first abdominal c section like cut although I have had appendix removed, the pain sounds like it can be quite intense
What exercises can you do post op and which days do you begin. Is it strictly just walking in first week. You were doing stretches.I really would like as much advice on how to mobilize myself please

First thing to say is this is a little bit difficult to say with any certainty because every surgical case is a little different. But I will tell you that rolling to your side and getting up was so much easier because you didn’t have to contractor abdominals as much. Kind of like a log rolling to your side and then using your arms to assist. However as far as exercise is concerned you need to discuss that with your surgeon because they will give you clearance when you can begin. Initially it’s going to be difficult just to walk and take a shower. But that’s OK you’ll get better every day.

Was this laparoscopic or abdominal? I didn't think they used gas with abdominal surgery.

I had the worst experience ever, had my ovaries tubes womb and cervix removed I developed severe gas pain in my shoulder and stomach, I needed a blood transfusion x 2, my iron was depleted, I had an infection and was on IV antibiotics and fluid with a catheter for days I had blood which pooled in my pelvis which was evidenced on a CT scan I had to have 3 X bacteria cultures done lots of blood work, my bowel and lower stomach is still in agony I’m 7 days post op came out hospital yesterday in 18 meds and injections - I had to have this procedure due to a growth in my womb I would not recommend elective hysterectomies!!!!!
