Tip for you... the salt u put in the sauce put over the chopped garlic before you use the knife to make garlic paste.. makes it much easier

The misunderstanding is that this is not 'gyros' but 'souvlaki'. Its not a traditional 'souvlaki' with pita but still its a 'souvlaki'. 'Gyros' is meat on the rotisserie. Is something like making a chicken barbecue pizza and calling it pepperoni pizza. Its still a pizza, but there is no pepperoni in it.

also if you want the best tzatziki in the world, remove excess water from the cucumbers before putting them in the yogurt
It wasn't yogurt but "pavlaka" sour cream, which has higher fat content and lower water content than yogurt so it balances out 😉

When I was a kid I lived in Greece and had the most amazing Souvlaki/ Gyro I ever had in my life
I am a gyro nut after going to tons of supposedly the best Greek restaurants in Oregon and in Canada I have yet to have one that rivals the ones in Greece.
I watched a lot RUclips vids and it seems to me that they don't make them the way that they used back In the 70's when I was last there.
Then it was the bread the meat tomatoes onion and some tzatziki sauce rolled in foil.
That was the best barnone.
This looks really good and would gladly eat it but not the real deal.
It's hard to beat the original.
Original is made with pita like the one in the video not bread
Homemade salt, evaporated from human tears.
These videos are best watched at x2 speed. That's how I always saw them on Facebook and when I finally see them here, they are normal. I had to switch it to fast lol.
