    I just got some S8 lights in, one has the nm1 and the other is just a host. I love the nm1 version, it’s insane to have such a small light throw so far. I am going to put the cslpm1 in the host to compare to the nm1 but I get a feeling the nm1 and sft40 are probably the two best options. The sft40 is still such an impressive emitter, all of the extra output with almost no penalty in candela is amazing.

      Green PM1 would have crazy throw. There's also a green version of the NM1 I think :D

      @@DarrenYeoYT yep the cslnm1.f1. I know the green pm1 does upwards of 2200 lumens but I’m not sure about the green nm1, I have some ordered but I don’t have any experience with them yet. I’m going to be swapping my lumintop gt nano with either a white pm1 or a green nm1/pm1, I’m not sure which I’ll do yet.

    I think you said 430m for the nm1 in this video and 480m in your first review of it.

    Please make a comparison between 3 Convoy S6 with runtimes and sustained output:
    1. Convoy S6 SFT40 5A linear (stock)
    2. Convoy S6 SFT40 5A buck driver (Simon does this when asked afaik)
    3. Convoy S6 SFT40 8A buck driver (it fits, but i don't think Simon does this himself)

    • @DarrenYeoYT
      @DarrenYeoYT  10 месяцев назад

      Noted down, will try but no promises. What performance difference would you expect to see with the two buck drivers?

    • @maggi98mw
      @maggi98mw 10 месяцев назад +1

      @@DarrenYeoYT if i remember correctly it was you who found out that the 5A buck driver steps down quite quickly, quicker than the 5A linear or even the FET of a Wurkkos FC13. I would love to see if the 17mm 8A buck has similar behaviour and how quickly it steps down (maybe also try the 50% mode in this?). Maybe his 8A buck is more efficient than the 5A. Also max output would obviously be quite a bit higher, i'd expect about 40% more max output. But what i really want to see is the difference in sustained output between those three

    On aliexpress for the NM1 there are 3 different battery options. Which is better to go with and why if you can explain. 1) EVE 35V 2) Liitokala Li35a 3) Molicel M35A

    • @DarrenYeoYT
      @DarrenYeoYT  10 месяцев назад +2

      I don't know much about the EVE cell, but the litokala/molical have 10A rating which is important in making sure enough current is supplied to the LED. Molicel has a good reputation, I own lots of them.

      Best battery for this light is the Vapcell N40. Confirmed 4000 mAh capacity with 10A CDR (continuos discharge rating) (you will need at least 7A CDR for this 5A driver). 10A CDR is the lowest i'd go for in a 8A driver

      The SFT40 still produces way more light, it just needs more current to reach peak candela !

    My convoy s8 with NM1 emitter was arrived recently. Upon testing at turbo mode/100% the head of the flashlight was super hot at 30 seconds. I didn't experience this in my convoy c8+ with sft40 and sofirn sc18 with sst40, it reaches 3mins in turbo before it gets hot.
    Do you experience fast heating in turbo mode on your s6?

    • @DarrenYeoYT
      @DarrenYeoYT  3 месяца назад

      Yes it gets hot. Driver is drawing up to 6A and in a small host like this, you're pushing it to the max. But at least you can get good performance when you need it.

    • @jnhkx
      @jnhkx Месяц назад

      its normal. 5 amps is already enormous for the little body of S2+, S6, S8. I got S2+ SFT40 3V8A buck driver. In turbo I can only held it for like 20 sec lol
      C8+ surface area for the heat to spread out is much larger. So, it can sustain turbo a bit more. I got C8+ XHP70.3HI 6V5A boost driver, I can hold it much longer.
