Sure is, my friend. . . . . . it gave rise to Western civilization and spread science, mathematics, literature, medicine, architecture, democracy and the arts throughout the world. LONG LIVE GREECE!
@Roman Stigs the Romans did as well but you also have to remember Greek civilization was around way before the Romans and the Greeks even continued and improved Roman culture and inventions through the Eastern Roman Empire (The Byzantines).
I love Greece - Hellas ! I've been there several times , what a beautiful country with the best beaches ! The architecture and landscape and culture is a rare beauty !
I love the way the y respect their home and their traditions. But also , the profound love and respect for their families. That’s a lesson we must learn
This is how living should be. Not the fast paced rat race most people live in. Good wholesome families who eat good wholesome food. I thoughly enjoyed this video !!!
I have had people ask me why I despise the EU,........it's because of what they have done to Greece. I love Greece, especially Crete and Rhodes. I'm a Brit and have spent many holidays on Crete and Rhodes, even Athens , but not so much. Greek food is wonderful, and the hospitality is the best in the world.
This is so beautiful...traditions, family and making memories, this is what family is all about. loved the video. Thank you for sharing it. God Bless You.
Much love from Greece to our friends all over the world, visit the greek islands and Corfu in particular (my island) to feel the real unaltered hospitality of the Greek islanders!! Who knows maybe i will treat you tsipouro and say "στην υγεια μας" the next summer.
im from norway and visited Rhodes both in 1982 for 14 days where i spendt almost all days in rhodes city at the beach. and 45 days in 1985 where i rented a motorcycle and traveld everywhere on the island including this villge in this video. but i spendt more than a week exploring my favorite place::: i think its name was EPTA PIGES, It didnt look like much when you enterd where the road stopd. but after you found the little creek running thru a manemade stone tunnel thru a hill you came out in BUTTERFLY VALLEY. i thyink it was cald... IT WAS LIKE EDEN! and yes the local people i got to know was very nice. i stopd traveling to greece and other countrys around year 2000! we have enough begging annoying migrants here in norway now too. nowadays i spend my holydays hiking in norwegian nature parks, camping and fishing, ore just relax, cheaper and more peaceful
I used to like going to church on Easter between 12 midnight and 3am morning when ppl sing and keep candles on, the smell of sweet walnut brioche or panetone or curd cheese brioche, kids will get new clothes on, relatives visit your home bringing tulips flowers; we do colored boiled eggs too in Romania
Wonderful..THIS is the real life, close to nature and traditions...we got so far away with our way of living from the things that really matter, it's unbelievable. That's why lots of people are depressed, although they have everything.. i can't get enough watching this 😍
I lived in Rhodes for 10 years and I got the best memories there. I so enjoyed watching this documentary thank you so much. Shame Giagia's pot didn't won the competition :)

This mouth-watering video is hard to beat. Beautiful people, beautiful scenery, beautiful food, all enhanced by the commenter's simple, relevant story. (And for a change, the pronunciation of Greek words is absolutely accurate.) Congratulations.

I left Syria due to the war and lived in Sweden for many years, later I missed the Mediterranean so much that I decided to visit Greece. I felt so much like home there. Warm kind social people, delicious Mediterranean food, beautiful architecture, charming culture and lifestyle, and absolutely wonderful weather and beaches. Such a beautiful country with its stunning islands!
MR T Do you know why the woman in video painting with white color the walls? Do you know why the houses in Greek Icelands are white? In the time of ottoman empire there was rules for Christians. Sharia ruls. All the population who was not Muslim, must pay the "jizia". Do you know what is the "jizia"? The "jizia" is en islamic tax only because you as the person isn't Muslim. For the christians it was forbid tu have houses with 2 floors. Generally the houses was must be more small than Muslims houses. A christian can not have the horse. Only donkey. If the christian saw the Muslim coming, he must change the street. Etc, etc. After the independence day, the people was so happy, that pained all the houses in the white color. And after the criminal things, after the genocidal politic your country planing a new war against Greece. So, keap your respect for you and for your county. You are not welcomed in Greece. Go to your Uralo-altaic friends kazakistan, Kırgızistan, Azerbaigian etc....
Wonderful to see the keeping of traditions... We have several that have passed down for various holidays and stress the passing on of them to our children who also enjoy them.

Syria is a middle eastern oriental country. Nothing to do with Mediterranean culture or Greece
which sounds weird, as Greece, beyond climate (and this only on the coastline) is nothing like Syria
Fadi, don't listen. My best friend is Syrian. Although she is Christian Orthodox, beyond that we have many things in common.
