    Carrie Fisher was so great in this. I know her role as "Princess Leia" will always be the most iconic, but I thought she truly shone in When Harry Met Sally. She was so funny. She should have been nominated for an Oscar for this role.

      Unless the person asked you and you turned them down, chances are you would have never met. Look, I'm 50 and never been married--not from lack of trying or not wanting--but I find that the simple philosophy "God made marriage for people; he didn't necessarily make people for marriage" comforted me when I hit 40, and then 50. It's like joining the military; it's great for some, okay for others, and not appealing to many, many others. I am sure that you couldn't have been any better a person or friend if you had been married. Blessings to you.

    Why is this movie so good? I try not to watch too often. Its not easy. I think ill watch it tonight. Bruno Kirby, Carrie Fisher Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan are so good together in this gorgeous story ❤. Great scene this.
    But the best scene is "The Wagon Wheel Coffee Table".

  • @ryanevans8566
    @ryanevans8566 6 лет назад +75

    This is such a fantastic scene. First of all, a fabulous table setter for Carrie Fisher's Marie ("...you mean Joe's available?"), basically setting the template for just about all romcom sidekicks to follow.
    Meg also has some terrific nonverbal work in this - 1) the shrug/head turn @ 1:25, and the look of deadpan alarm @ 2:15 in response to Lisa Jane Persky's "at least you could say you were married".

    • @tejaswoman

      Let us not forget her dog-earing the card in her Rolodex for the guy who's now married, having just announced that she realizes the guy she's been having an affair with for two years is never leaving his wife, which she has previously said.

    I don't think that the moment where it Carrie folds down the edge of the card has been praised enough. It is sheer genius. She folds down the card because you know that if he ever gets divorced, she will then be able to unfold it. I want to know if that was the work of Nora Efron, Rob Reiner, or Carrie Fisher herself.
