This is water craft, reading the river like a book, the magic of a float, and my goodness what a lovely opening, and roach to die for, wonderful video.
What a fantastic brace of roach!👌🏻👏🏻 Also, a great sentiment & respect for you to mention you friend Charlie for passing his skills/knowledge onto yourself. You definitely got your deserved reward.👍🏻🎣
It takes a lot of hard work and effort to travel and fish like that, usually with more disappointment than success. When it comes right though it looks so easy but I know that is years of experience, effort and heartache all come together in a moment. Well done, a fish of a lifetime and a great reward.
Wow!! The holy grail of coarse fishing. You’re obviously a very skilled angler and worked hard for those fish. Well done sir! Please disregard petty, negative comments regarding using a carrier bag and scale zeroing .- As anyone with any knowledge will concur, a carrier bag is far kinder on the fish; it removes none of the fishes protective slime nor scales and is far superior to any sling for weighing smaller species. Regarding weighing technique; although I'm not familiar with the scales you use, a polythene bag weighs so little that it probably won’t even register on the dial. All the best and well done Jango👏
Thanks so much for your feedback and as for the bag you are right as I did weigh it out of interest and as you said they weigh practically nothing but some people have nothing better to do than criticise after I have put in all of the hard work to give some viewing on fishing. Top man and thanks buddy
It’s jealousy that’s all it is, I can’t believe this fellow has made one of the best videos that I have seen on roach fishing on RUclips and some sad idiot comes out with nit picking over a gram or two with the bag, he needs to get a life.
Made up for you man after my own heart no better fishing than that 3lb roach on the float from the natural beauty of the river fabulous. They can keep their 40lb carp from the stock lake at 9 raps 200 nights with all the bolt rigs and electronics
Can’t wait every year for winter roach . Simply most beautiful fish ❤ 3lb barrier is yet to be crossed for me but I’m sure it will happen one day. Gonna try Avon next March . Great video buddy 👏🏻
superb fish of a lifetime (the smaller one would be for me!!), and excellent vid too, this will probably be the best roach vid ever posted. well done Ian!
The algorithms sent this a year after the first viewing, and it's still as good. What a swim, what a roach! I've lost more roach at the net than any other species, so it's heart-stopping seeing you land it.
Great videos Ian it's nice to see proper trotting films. Can I ask you what 13' rod you use. I agree about the Ninja reels for the money you can't beat them.
Lovely, and genuine fear when you first see the fish, you went quiet 🤐 you knew it was a fish to be worshipped. Fantastic brace shame they are not in our local water in Suffolk. Great video hope to catch you on the stour one day.
Half your luck to fish the Avon . Caught a couple of 2 pounders pole fishing with my grandad on the river lea in Ware but he wouldn't let me tell anyone. Great days back in the 60s 👍
Here in Houston, Tx. I am thinking about starting a channel and making some simple carp and buffalo fishing videos. Nice camera angle, nice commentary, great fish!!! Thanks!!
Excellent video of a masterclass in roach fishing.Well done and thanks for sharing with us. I'm thinking of getting the 16' Cadence myself is the rod the No.1 or No.2?
This is water craft, reading the river like a book, the magic of a float, and my goodness what a lovely opening, and roach to die for, wonderful video.
Really glad you enjoyed it 🎣🎣
Congrats, that's indeed a fish of a lifetime. Thanks for sharing this special fishing trip.
Congratulations Ian!!! A PROPER 3lb Roach (from a river, not a gravel pit)- a rare rare fish indeed. Superb Angling mate, well done.
Lovely to see the likely end product of The Avon Roach Project. Thanks Trevor & Budgie.
What a fantastic brace of roach!👌🏻👏🏻 Also, a great sentiment & respect for you to mention you friend Charlie for passing his skills/knowledge onto yourself. You definitely got your deserved reward.👍🏻🎣
Great fish and great that you gave credit to the person that passed on their knowledge.
Happy fishing for the future.
If I’ve watched this vid once I’ve watched it half a dozen times , and it gets better each time , love it …
