    A quick note on the table for 4K Pro - those few green tiles are actually also supposed to be blue (so everything is blue) AKA everything can be captured in HDR or SDR. Our error wasn't caught until after Harris filmed but I wanted to share this in case anyone is interested in playing in sweet sweet 4K 240fps HDR or 1440p 240fps HDR

      I ordered the 4k pro and was able to get it for $288 instead of $304 with discount code I game at 4k 240hz and would be fine if my captures are 1080p at least 100hz so 1080p 240hz is fine would be nice to have an update to get 1440p 240hz out of it later but I have a feeling elgato might give us a firmware update in the future for it monitor is 32:9 but can also run 16:9 resolutions 7680x2160 is the max res @ 240hz it supports

      360Hz question: I have a 2 PC stream with a DP cable going from GPU to monitor and HDMI cable going from that same GPU to my 4k60Pro.mk2. I do this because I want lower system and input latency. Currently I cannot achieve 360Hz. Will I be able to with the newest 4k60Pro?

  • @elgato
    @elgato 9 месяцев назад +48

    Quick note from our team - The resolution chart for 4K Pro which we sent to Harris had an error in it, and we apologize for that. 4K Pro can capture every input resolution and frame rate combination in HDR, including 1440p240 HDR as 720p240 HDR and 4K240 HDR as 1080p240 HDR (and lower frame rates). This was incorrectly labeled in the chart.
    Additionally there is a mistake on the 4K X chart under the 1440p144 Column - 4K X will not turn a 1440p144fps signal into 1440p240fps one - our bad.

    Okay but NONE of these cards tell you anything but basic 16:9. What if I have a 21:9 monitor, or a 32:9? What if the device I'm capturing is outputting at 16:10? And if they don't support any of these, why? Its not like its 2010, 21:9 monitors exist.

    why is the 1440 240hz category so empty when 4k 240hz has up to 1080 240 in sdr. i would atleast expect 1080 60 too be marked. is it simply because of the resolution miss match. it wont effect me in the slightest but i think lots of 2 pc people could run into issue considering 1440 240 monitors are becoming very popular.

    I have my gaming PC which is not even 3 years old yet and then a 2nd Stream PC (my old gaming PC pushing 8 years old). It has an older Elgato internal capture card but works fine. My stream PC is so old it can't upgrade to Win 11. I also have 7 year old laptop that I used to use as my stream PC before I got my new gaming PC. I was looking at possibly getting a new laptop for when I travel and using it as my stream PC with the 4K X. Historically though internal cards have always been better but I am hearing good things about this card. Could I go that route or should I get the 4K pro and then move my gaming PC's motherboard and CPU over to the stream PC and then getting all new components for my gaming PC? I still need to upgrade my laptop though and I was hoping I could just get by with that as I am not sure I have the funds to do both.

    So I've owned 4 different Elgato capture devices in my lifetime, both USB and PCI-E models at different points, and the audio has ALWAYS been imperfect with either degradation or minor to major popping on every computer I've used them in, both in OBS and in Elgato's own software. This was my deciding factor in selecting Avermedia in this generation.

    I find it a moot point that the 4K Pro can capture 1080 in HDR if you're gaming at 1080; I say this because I've yet to see any 1080p monitor that has real hdr support (600+nits at least). Seems like an attempt to just pad the product's "numbers/stats". At the very least you can find some 1440p gaming panels with HDR support (oled models or mini LED). If you're gaming at 1080 high refresh rate, it's in SDR more than likely on a 1080 panel. It really all makes sense if you're gaming at 1440p60 at least to be able to play in HDR and able to capture it in HDR as well and be able to view it after the fact. Having said all that, I prefer the 4K X because it can game in 4KHDR at high refresh rates, which most people will play with, on an appropriate high-end gaming monitor to enjoy, all while having the choice of capturing in a variety of resolutions in SDR/HDR, as the chart shows. Sorry in advance if it's a little difficult to follow along with, but I can't be the only one seeing this, right? Lol

    I used to love Elgato products, I bought a lot of them. I stopped because both my stream deck and my 4K60pro stopped working after merely two years. Mounts and arms are still great, just not electronic stuff.

    i still don't understand where i should put this? in my streaming pc or in my gaming pc? you should do a video of the best dual pc setup for streaming. unless you've done that already? lol

      The capture card goes in your streaming PC, not your gaming PC.

    I keep getting my livestreams demonitized made into revenue sharing after playing your stream beats on streams. Keeps getting claimed by Ice Core. Any reason why this is happening?

    Sir if you are gonna do charts you need to invest in a extendable metal wand. Been around forever and is a must for high level pointing at things.
