"I don't have to win, We Both just have to lose." That line right there says it all, a Hero who's willingly to sacrifice everything for the greater good. A TRUE Avenger!
While a bunch of people are talking about the cool visuals and Kang, I’m loving Scott’s character motivation here. The idea of lost time is something that’s been with the character since his first appearance in the MCU. Losing years of his life, years with his daughter, to prison was bad enough, but then to lose five years during the Blip just made things so much worse. It’s easy to see how Kang could manipulate that, and how this can result in a satisfying character arc for Scott, not only for this movie, but for the whole franchise to date. I’m not sure whether this was intentional from the get-go, or whether it was just making the most of plot points from previous movies, but either way, it’s coming together nicely.
I'm loving the way you broke that down. There wasn't a single joke in the trailer either, which is interesting for the modern mcu.. it would appear that they mean serious business with this one and I'm 100% here for it.
He lost way too much time. Lost time w/ his daughter when he got locked up. Lost more time when the snap happened, she went from a young girl to a high school about to go to college right before his eyes.
Interestingly enough, Coogler's original plan for black panther 2 had Chad been alive was T'Challa dealing with the 5 years he lost and then having to deal with Namor in the middle of all that mess. That sounded like an emotionally heavy film too which I guess we were not destined to see
I don't have to win... We both just have to lose." That line right there says it all, a Hero who's willingly to sacrifice everything for the greater good. A TRUE Avenger!
From a kinda light-hearted super hero movie in Ant-Man to being a solution in Endgame, then to these nerve wrecking scenes in Quantumania. Our boy came a long way and I'm so happy with all the developments he got. Can't wait to watch this one!
logan6262 Don’t get me wrong, I personally feel like this movie gets A BIT too much hate. There’s definitely MCU movies out there that I’ve thought are worse or disliked more for varying reasons. However, the point of your comment absolutely applies. When the ORIGINAL plot leak came out that had Kang escaping the QR while everyone else was trapped, combined with this trailers release, I truly thought this would’ve been a peak MCU film. But then for whatever reason they reshot the films ending in January (and we know that cuz of leaked set photos that match up perfectly with the ending and Cassie’s party) and the rest is history. It’s unfortunately okay at best, when it should’ve ended up being a universally recognized top 10 MCU film. Granted I don’t think the ending change fixes all its problems, as the conflicting tonal issues likely still would’ve been a factor. But at least then we would’ve felt the stakes and consequences of what happened more immediately
@@rileyribble6733 The real problem with this film is the atmosphere of the film. He was supposed to be menacing, but they didn't show any of the menace that Kang made him feel in this trailer. If I could, I would write Kang's storyline because I'm sure I know what the fans need. Kang must be very powerful and not be a weak hero like Antman who completes his journey. I think it could make Kang super powerful if they allowed Kang to kill Thanos. Like, they show us Kang completely taking over his technology while being totally satisfied so they decide to go back to the past or to a time stream where Thanos would be alive with all the infinity stones. And Kang wants to test all his power by killing him. This would give more credit to the character in my opinion...
It's essentially the counter to "For Evil to win, all Good has to do is nothing." Reminds me of one of the lines in Stargate by Anubis and Oma Desala. Anubis: "Well you can't win." Oma: ""It won't matter, you won't be able to do anything but fight me back."
I was honestly hoping that we get to see more Bill Murray, but seeing M.O.D.O.K, Kang in action, and Scott saying "I don't have to win. We both just have to lose" makes this trailer amazing. Can't wait to see it

"I don't have to win, We both just have to lose." Man, Rewatching this Trailer is honestly depressing. This Trailer is literally One of The Best Marvel Trailers I've Ever seen and It made it look like it was going to be One of The Best Marvel Movies Ever and that it was going to Perfectly Set Up The Future of The MCU, A Serious and Emotional Story about Scott making a deal with Kang to get back the time He lost with Cassie would have been so much better that The Actual Movie, And having Kang ultimately Winning in the End would have established how dangerous and threatening He is and set Him up to be The Next Thanos and having Scott make a Heroic Sacrifice would have been a Perfect Ending to His Character Arc. But no, Instead Kang got beaten by Freaking Ants and Scott and everyone else is fine and they go back home with no consequences. And then Jonathon Majors, Who was The Best Thing about This Movie, Got arrested and The MCU just seemed like it was in hell. A Movie that was supposed to set up The Future of The MCU just turned into an average pretty predictable advertisement for the next thing where the only interesting thing is The Post Credits Scene where they set up The Council of Kangs and Loki Season 2. And sadly, That's what Marvel kind of became in the last few years. And this is coming from someone who has enjoyed a lot of their Projects more than many others, But even I can't deny that The MCU just isn't the same as it used to be. I'm Really Hoping that Deadpool And Wolverine will put things back on track.
I disagree. Part of the reason why Marvel studios has been so successful is because of blended approach of having emotion, comedy, action that all feel like they belong in the movie. Infinity war and End game are the perfect examples. Sure Thor war and thunder was a bummer but don't forget, people loved the comic approach of Thor Ragnarok. Too much seriousness is a thing of DC universe which are much more darker in their depiction of superhero adventures.
@@syzygy_xv I agree. And this one does have thay humor. It's shown in the previous trailer. What I meant was it doesn't seem like love and thunder where forced jokes ruin the story send emotions of the film.
@@syzygy_xv Yeah, Marvel studios hasn't been successful because they have a monopoly on superheroes (besides Batman and Superman), it's because they made Ultron a stand-up comedian.
While many have underestimated him, Scott has proved time and time again that he is no “small” hero. Something tells me that he’ll surprise everyone yet again in this film. Really hyped!!
Same I don't think he's dying here, the arc he's on seems to be about accepting the time he's lost and moving forward to stay in Cassie's Life. So when he says that badass line I think what he's losing is what he went to Kang for. He's losing that chance to get all that time back by destroying whatever is the key to getting Kang out of the Quantum realm. Of course I could be totally wrong about this but that's the vibe I'm getting, you don't need to kill Scott to have him lose. Although I do think we are losing someone in this movie and that's Hank.
Yes the way he entered into the quantum realm and made a comeback he was the one who actually brought everyone back. This movie seems to bring back Marvel's soul
I'm gonna go see Ant man and the Wasp: Quantumania today and I have a nervous feeling that Kang will beat Ant-man and Kang will try to escape the Quantum Realm.
I got a feeling the ending to the movie isn't as clear-cut as some make it out to be there is a precedence for illusion technology I feel like Kang is messing with Scott and using Mysterio illusion like technology also he didn't die Darren was able to come back from his fate so I Kang will be back and more powerful than before
I am actually filled with goosebumps. This film might be the last time we see Ant-Man, and Kang begin his rule on the world. The end of a legend, the beginning of a dynasty.
"I don't have to win, we both just have to lose" I haven't heard a line that good since: "No. But I can lose. Again. And again. And again. Forever. That makes you my prisoner."
Why are we seeing so much of Kang if they're setting him up as the main baddie in Avengers? Is he actually gonna be a side-villain? Is he gonna have his chair, and that's gonna make him badder?
It may not be the best way to start Phase 5, but in my honesty, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is a kick start and fun time experience. Jonathan Majors is MVP, obviously, as Kang.
The "I don't have to win, we both just have to lose" line gave me chills! Living up to everyone mistaking him for spider-man and sacrificing everything to save the world from some big mistakes he surely made.
The fact that in the Loki series Kang was surely carefree and cheerful, but how in this movie he's seems both peaceful and menacing by just a single sentence from him..
@@krishna991gamer did you not watch the explanation that one Kang united all the other Kangs from different universes? There are multiple kangs from different universes.
Everything the movie failed to do, this trailer did right. It gave us a plot to be interested in and excited to witness, centered around Scott and Cassie's relationship, made Kang look like an Avengers-level threat, made the Quantum Realm and the people in it look like such a world-building experience, and made us fear for all of the main characters. All of the dots were right there, waiting to be connected. What the hell happened?
The ending scene where Kang screams reveals what I like about some of the characters Jonathan Majors plays like Kang, in Harder they fall, and from the trailer of creed 3. On the surface he's this friendly person who is calm but there's something eerie about his calm nature like it's too good to be true or too welcoming, it feels like he's trying his hardest to keep it together then he snaps revealing the darkness underneath
Crazy to see how far Scott has come since Ant-Man 1. Who was once a simple petty thief is now a full-on Avenger going up against the most powerful being in the multiverse. This movie is gonna put Scott through the wringer and I can’t wait to see how it further develops him.
That line at the end when Ant-Man said “I don’t have to win, we both have to lose.”, how badass Kang looks and MODOK being in this literally has me hyped for this even more than the first trailer!
Originally, Scott saying in Endgame "So is Back to the Future just a bunch of bullshit?" being my favorite line from him. But him saying here "I don't have to win. We both just have to lose." is now my favorite line from him. Those are the words of a true hero. It's reminds me of when Tony told Steve they would lose and Steve said they would do that together. I wonder if Scott will have a line similar in Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars.
If back in 2015 you told me an Ant-Man movie would've been my most awaited MCU movie, I would've been surprised. This looks literally perfect, holy lord. A movie starring Ant-Man and the Wasp with Kang as the main villain and MODOK being involved? Sounds like a dream
I was worried after the previous trailer that Kang would only be in the last 15 minutes and they'd spend most of the movie fighting Bill Murray. If it bombs then they have some rethinking to do, because they can't base an Avengers movie on a bomb.
Before the year 2023, I would NEVER have believed that a trailer from the Ant-Man franchise would have ever given me chills. There’s something about the combination of Jonathan Majors presence and the stakes of time with one’s child.
I'm so afraid for Ant-Man, I'm so excited. Goosebumps after the phrase: "I don't have to win... we just both have to lose." Scott went from an underground thief to a superhero, then became an avenger, and now he is fighting the powerful Kang-Conqueror in the Quantum world.
The problem with Kang was not incorporating him into the larger MCU. They could have easily included Kang in secret invasion as being the one pulling the strings between humans and skrulls to disillusion earth for his own conquest.
"I don't have to win, we both just have to lose" immediately made me think of Dr. Strange: "You will never win!" - "No, but I can lose. Again, again and again. And again, forever... That makes you my prisoner."
the stakes are high..... scott is willing to lose and possibly die to stop kang or even just delay him... poor scott maybe this will be his final movie...
Peyton Reed directed the most emotional episode of The Mandalorian (the Season Two finale.) Glad to see he's bringing that energy to Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
same. I was worried because in the comics, his suit looks goofy. like a oversized green shirt from a one night stand with purple armor over it. but they knocked it out of the park with this one.
This feels like NWH all over again. Impressive. Heroes always makes sacrifices for good or ill especially for the greater good. No matter the consequences.
I hate how the trailer pitches a different movie that didn't happen, Scott wants more time with his daughter to be a better father and Kang offers him a deal to do so and the rest is Scott dealing with the repercussions. This was a super interesting pitch that i was excited to see... Meanwhile the actual movie is all about Janet while Kang forces Scott to help him by strong arming him - just an ordinary villain doing ordinary villain things. Many major lines from this trailer aren't even in the movie. Movie was still okay, but it would've been better with its original pitch.
I stopped watching trailers about 5 years ago - changed the way I experience movies. Loved this movie and now coming in to see the trailer after the fact. So much would have been spoiled with the trailer (or lead to think something different). Try it on the next big movie - avoid the trailer.
Yup. I'm so over all the people getting hyped out of their minds for these stupid trailers. "OH MY GOD he said we just have to both lose I have LITERAL CHILLS this is going to be the most AMAZING THING IVE EVER SEEN" God. I'm so over it. At this point I sincerely hope it's just a bunch of astro-turfing paid shills, cause the idea that real people see shlock like this and lose their minds is so disappointing.
Well, they sort of did the same with Loki. He was the villain in Thor and they brought him back as the main villain in Avengers even though he wasn't even close to the same level as Thanos. So it seems they're doing it the same way here.

Ant-Man and The Wasp: End Of The Kang Dynasty
That sounded like an emotionally heavy film too which I guess we were not destined to see
@@muffinman3052 Im quite sure that its because mostly about Kang. He is the next Big Bad after Thanos. And that purple guy didnt had any comedic tone

Rewatched this trailer and said "This could've been a materpiece"
False advertising big time
logan6262 Don’t get me wrong, I personally feel like this movie gets A BIT too much hate.
Antman:"I don't have to win, we both just have to lose" what a chill line
Gave me Xiaolin Showdown vibes :D
A good line to throw at a road rage situation.
Did they just spoil most of the storylines with their own trailer?
It's essentially the counter to "For Evil to win, all Good has to do is nothing."

In order to be comic book accurate, Kang should never be without his helmet. Ever.
Kang is blue in the comics because of his helmet, he doesn't have blue skin
@@smoothness69 I think they would’ve if they didn’t cast such a big actor. Loki and antman (in the mcu not the comics) are more supporting characters so casting majors and releasing this now (same year as creed 3, he’s the “villain”) makes sense to me. I know it’s marvel they don’t need a list actors blah blah but besides Shang chi this last phase was in shambles they need anything they can get. I’ve also heard this isn’t king the conquer this is a variant so the real one might never take it off because it’ll be a big movie regardless cause it’ll be a avengers movie so they don’t need bro face no more. Same I don't think he's dying here, the arc he's on seems to be about accepting the time he's lost and moving forward to stay in Cassie's Life. I think that was the point of Phase 4, it was just exposition for this storyline, Phase 5 should be epic from start to finish. :D
@@PunkRock131 I really hope you’re right…
Me too 👍👍👍
@@PunkRock131I guess we have a marvel writer here. How much are they paying you to believe that?
Well, they sort of did the same with Loki. He was the villain in Thor and they brought him back as the main villain in Avengers even though he wasn't even close to the same level as Thanos. So it seems they're doing it the same way here.
Not gonna lie, I'm actually shocked they're making Antman a very serious movie now. I like it! 👍🏽
Is just for the trailer, remenber age of ultron had dark tone trailers too
You're right, esp. since Thor went from serious to campy, a clever reversal for Ant Man to go from campy to serious.
@@cheswajda9803 Thor was always campy lol he was the original comedic relief of the team before Guardians of the Galaxy were introduced

and Thor who used to be serious now became a joke lol
" He can re-write existence "
That line delivered chills down my spine 🔥🔥
literally Pucchi
Loki: You are welcome.
Shatter timelines as well since basically that's what He Who Remains was doing, pruning timelines
Movie Kang: Can rewrite existence
Also movie Kang: engages Ant-Man in a fistfight
What this is like IM SAMA FROM ONE PIECE💀 ahhh im warching this film
they REALLY need to let these trailer dudes make the movies :(
LOL literally
“I’m sorry Cassie” gave me goosebumps! 😢😩 Now I’m ready for this!
feeling bad for ant-man now
It’s ok, she will be apart of the young Avengers after taking Antmans place.
Got to love Kang's composure. Looks so calm as if his intentions are pure but he seeks to destroy and desires to cause mass destruction
ye he has the acting skills of bella from twilight
Honkey
Sounds like thanos
@@knabdank You Watched Twilight? Should we really take anything you say seriously after that?

Johnathan Majors is slaying as Kang , the move is not out yet and I'm already loving his performance . He will go down as one of the most memorable villains in the whole MCU .
Yawn....

@@lonniesanez8597 I sometimes wonder if the people in these comments are human or AI generated. These commenters see a trailer and they make claims like it will be the most memorable. What a world we live in…..
Why do people make statements like this? I get you're excited but how about you reserve judgement until the movie comes out. Good trailer does not equal good movie.
The editor of the trailer should have written the movie
I wholeheartedly agree
Imagine how strong he is.
He can rewrite for what happens in every marvel cinematic universe film. All that history .
Better tell him to redo she hulk💀
Most of that Phase 4 garbage!
K.E.V.I.N can make him disappear. LITERALLY!
The avengers will not even kill him cuz he 2 strong, i think there will be another ending
Deadpool can do that to with the continuity gem
"I don't have to win.... We both just have to lose." Now that dialogue gave me goosebumps ☺️☺️
