I love how they basically just hijack the game narration and even pull a fake knockout screen. Each boss of the DLC has their own unique gimmick and it's just incredible.
@@joshcoy6748 The dogs have the spínning screen; Like mentioned before, the bugs hijack the narrator to get a cheap shot on you; Ice king's final phase has a (what I can only describe as) Radiance-like climb to it; The giant is a similar ordeal, having a level trasition in the middle of the fight similar to KD or the devil; the entirety of the secret boss hinges on them switching sides when you move towards one or the other; The only questionably unique I'd say is cow lady, but she's the only plane fight of the dlc, which counts imo. The chess guy's gauntlet format. All that and not even mentioning the attacks themselves. And it all adds up to make sure every single fight stands out massively, even in comparison to the original games' cast. This DLC is a design masterpiece.

I'm pretty sure Studio MDHR said there are more frames in the DLC alone than in the entirety of the base game, and it shows SO much more than I anticipated. Like, wow.

After waiting four years to get this amazing DLC I have to say that they exceeded my expectations 10 times over! The characterization of all the bosses is spot on the wacky loose improvisation style makes me happy constantly And I love how salt Baker gets rehabilitated at the end! This DLC made me feel like a kid again and that’s an amazing thing

Cuphead has the style of Flesicher Bros cartoon with the smooth flow of the golden age of Disney animation. What a sweet combo of the delicious last course.
I love the way they experimented with platforms this time. With Mortimer Freeze’s final phase being 5 rotating platforms, The Howling Aces having the plane instructor dude as a small platform being controlled by your movement, Glumstone the Giant having changing platforms in his 1st and last phase, Moonshine Mob having 3 layers of platforms, Chef Saltbaker’s final phase basically being just platforming with an annoying heart, and even Ester Werchester kinda having 2 layers in the 1st and 3rd phase. I love how much more creative they got with this DLC!
I absolutely love every boss but The Rook stood out to me. I love the storytelling and mechanic that the heads of all he executed would be the way to beat him.
I’m so glad that the unused Flying Gentleman boss made a return in some form in the new levels, he was always one of my favorite designs even out of all the bosses actually in the game

I actually found a glitch just now for the cowgirl boss, where at the end of her second phase, she can start shooting her safes up in the air. For some reason, the safes never came down. This kind of froze the boss in a dormant state where she could not attack me, but I could finish the boss while it was in this state, and skip her last two phases. I have not seen any footage on this, since the dlc has only been out for 10 hours now, but hopefully, this comment will get discovered, and this glitch will get patched, so it doesn't effect casual play. If you don't want a challenge, then good luck. Try to replace the glitch. It ended up working on my switch, but I'm not sure for non-console play. It could help individual level speed running, as this glitch saves a lot of time on the boss, so I beat her in 1 minute, 26 seconds. It is similar to a Hilda berg glitch, where you can put Hilda in a similar dormant state on the legacy version of Cuphead. This glitch, possibly unlike the one I discovered, is replacateable. This glitch might get patched in the future, as, more people will discover it.
I did see a VTuber recently run into the cowgirl glitch (Rosemi Lovelock). It confused her so much that she couldn’t stop laughing and had to end her stream once she beat it.
It’s a bait, the snail has next to no health but attacks you if you relax after beating the Anteater, I laughed so hard when I died the first time I beat the anteater and immediately died because I jumped into the snail

I love how with the moonshine mob they took 2 scrapped bosses and reused them(the spider in phase one and the harmless beams of light in phase 2 are from scrapped bosses) Also with the pawn, knight, bishop, etc. you can only parry to defeat them, much like the squid boss who I think made it all the way to the games first showcase before being scrapped

Doesn't stop it from being one helluva ride. The difference between seeing it played and playing it myself has never stopped me. It varies from game to game, but overall it doesn't kill my interest or anything. Knowing I'd have to fight the Devil at the end of the original Cuphead story wasn't going to kill my enjoyment of defeating him myself.

The amount of references to original bosses is actually surprisingly big, like Glumstone using the hand dolls of King Dice and the Devil in his 2nd phase
if you dont know theres multiple references to scrapped bosses it one fight! in moonshine mob, the giant spider boss (albeit smaller) appears, in the second phase, the weird laser green frog thing's laser mechanic was reworked into the gramophone, if you want context you should watch tetrabitgaming's lost bits.
I think all bosses are really well animated and have really good concepts and visuals, my least favourite was the cow I don't know why but I didn't like that boss

I like chef saltbaker's change of heart at the end of the story. He feels bad about what he did and makes it up to everyone.
The coolest part is that the song indicates that he started off good but when he realized he could take over the astral plane, he went mad with power.
The animators really didn't have to go this hard. goddamn this is beautiful. The dogfight in particular is a favorite of mine.

Good god Chef Saltbaker is so overanimated it's glorious. He EXUDES menace. Hell he even goes full Cyriak at one point with those salt pillars.

The amount of references to original bosses is actually surprisingly big, like Glumstone using the hand dolls of King Dice and the Devil in his 2nd phase
Anyone notice how in moonshine mob the girl with the laser beams is a reference to a cuphead test with green thing with a hat?
if you dont know theres multiple references to scrapped bosses it one fight! in moonshine mob, the giant spider boss (albeit smaller) appears, in the second phase, the weird laser green frog thing's laser mechanic was reworked into the gramophone, if you want context you should watch tetrabitgaming's lost bits.
To add onto that the knight acts pretty similar to the scrapped octopus with how you have to party to defeat it.

The animation is a lot more fluid than I remember. The creators really stepped up their game.
Its really cool to see the team finally make use of concepts/ unused ideas that were cut from cuphead!
What I find so creepy about the devil boss is how quiet it is. The only thing you really hear is the weird mini devil and angel.

They seriously stepped up the animation in this one, god that Chef Saltbaker fight was a feast for the eyes
I think all bosses are really well animated and have really good concepts and visuals, my least favourite was the cow I don't know why but I didn't like that boss
