Can agree with everyone you are FAR to close easily able to tell by how shaky the camera is by the downwash from the blades. Pilot had to abort and find a new water source which takes longer and lets the fire burn more.
Stand to the side next time Wayne! Not in the forward area. Everybody... Don't be a Wayne. If the chopper has an emergency he'll have to dump the water along the flight path
Ok Wayne here. I just revisited the comment and saw aussiefirie's comments which need to be addressed..... better late than never. 1. I am a qualified helicopter pilot . 2 It looks like I am close as I was using zoom in. 3 I had been watching the refill rotation from a distance for several rotations of the 3 helicopters noting there positioning and flight path they were using. 4 At the time of filming I intentionally stood next to a lighting pole knowing that would be a visual reference that any pilot would avoid. 5 Look at the video more closely.... it looks like he has filled up and starts a small ascent then drops down to try to further fill his tank .... obviously there was some problem with the water pump. The lake is quite shallow and had been used extensively to refill the tankers and there was probably debris stirred up in the lake. Rather than take a less than full load to the fire some 20mins flight time away plus return flight, the decision was made to dump the partial load (probably in discussions with other pilots and ground crew)and to use the next lake across. That lake was also surrounded by spectators too but noticeably became the new choice of refill on the rotation as the water hadn't been stirred up at that time. Hope that clears it up for you and I suggest you don't make comments unless look and analyse the video in front of you or you were there and understood the full situation of the fire ground and the strategies that were being employed.

PS read the reply to aussiefirie
And because you were too close, the pilot had to dump his tank and fill up oin a safer area which cost valuable time.

@@MrWayne210658 Hi Wayne.
This helitak 100% aborted its fill due to bystanders being too close.
