in the whole movie, the weatherman is probably the only guy who wasn't made a fool of himself cuz he felt the whole silliness of the situation and just laughed along, not grumpy nor serious but wholesome, that was a nice exchange.
I watched it live. The weather guy was a good guy. I'm not sure if he's still there or not, but he always joked around. No one knew this was a skit for a movie. I guess Sasha sensed the guys sense of humor because he went up and interrupted several times.
@@AgentZoro because somebody didn't check out the person thoroughly at first It would be easy to determine whether or not the production shell company they made for the movie is actually connected to production companies in Hollywood
@@shayZero Well, I was 4 at the time so I cannot recall. Not a lot of people in Mississippi watch public television anymore so I can't really speak for the people that saw it. What I can say is that this was really broadcast live on television and probably gave a lot of laughs and confusion. The antique shop in the movie is in the downtown area of my city (I actually drove past there last week, never been in there before but I wanna visit it for the movie's sake.) The guy that worked there that you see in the movie thought he was just an extremely clumsy foreigner until he saw Borat on the Tonight Show and realized that it was a big joke. Many would probably expect us Mississipians to be sore about it but truth is me and a lot of others think this is one of the funniest movies out there.
OH MY GOD I grew up in Jackson (more specifically Madison which is right next to Jackson and ridgeland) and I am SCREAMING I didn’t know Borat went to Jackson FUCK 😂 This is such a surreal experience to see my hometown getting a shoutout and trolled by the great SBC.
Like I’ve stayed in that hotel in the background of the skycam shot. My little sister was born in a hospital down the road from there. I’m tripping out.
I wonder if this was real....I can imagine someone watching the news knowing nothing about this Borat and then this appears it probably had many people thinking "wtf?" hey at least it makes the news more entertaining!
I honestly can't even remember wtf I was doing 12 years ago. Probably getting shitfaced and laid all the time. Now I'm a father and husband. Man, times are a changing.
Randomly standing up mid-convo was a stroke of genius
My brain is broken. I thought you said mid covid
i bust my ass every fucking time. fucking genius
I was going to say that yes. I can imagine being the camera man and getting irritated by that
Just such a small thing but fucks things up so completely. Hes such a clever guy.
@@perpetual_bias he did alot more that was cut out. He was on for aboutv25 minutes. I watched it live

It is real. WAPT is a real station in Jackson, and this was an actual live newscast.
A 10 year old comment jesus christ.
omg
Jimmy Sanders You still exist? I was 6 when you wrote this.
Jimmy Sanders Yes WAPT is a realistic station here in Jackson, MS. I actually work there as a production assistant
@@glebsokolov9959 Yes, I do.
I wish this came out later when social media was as big as it is now 😭 the media would be going crazy lolll
The media was going crazy, comparatively speaking, when the movie dropped. It was massive. Genuine cultural phenomenon
I don't think so, must people would think it was fake
@@OldDumbTeenCommentAccountwhen you realize Sacha Cohen is a Democrat and has democrat values, your comment makes no sense.
@MarcLloydZ Sasha is a Brit so he wouldn't have what you call 'Democrat' values.
Yeah, and the producer actually lost her job because of this, according to Wikipedia.
I know this comment is 12 years old (geez!) but poor producer :(
If I were her boss, at first I'd be mad that she let SBC prank the news show, but I wouldn't fire her because we're in motherfucking Borat.

SBC knew he had the weather guy after the first laugh. Love how he zones in on him to put him off as much as possible.
You can come my house you can use my sister 😂😂😂

I VERY EXCITE
The was the birth of trolling
news reporter: *yeah see that thats your microphone your hooked up now*
borat: *screams into mic HALO*
I loved watch the entire wapt crew, crazy I was a kid when I watched this live getting ready for school
The fact that the whole movie was made withouth the backround people knowing it was a movie
It’s so crazy that this movie partially took place in my state, my city is actually on that weather map
Was this actually broadcast? What was the talk of it before the movie came out?
Did people by and large just think he was a crazy foreigner?

Please tell me you live in Yazoo City
I’ve been watching this for almost 20 years and it never gets old. The standing up is in the middle of it is beyond hilarious
Watch the scene where Borat brings a dinner guest to the preacher's house!😂😂😂
you mean that retarded guy?
"bora-hot saga-diyev"
I work for WAPT and we have talked about this a lot. The ones that you see on the screen are not here in this present time
