Bruh, the scene with his hallucinations of Benedikta and Clive. Funniest thing I've ever seen.
Titan wall-running is one of the most epic & terrifying things I have ever seen in any Final Fantasy.
He's actually just falling. This ENTIRE phase takes place inside titan lost as you fall through it. INSANE!

I think Titan in general is just super terrifying in this game, the glow of his eyes combined with his color scheme and facial animation is just so eerie

*The entire sequence is effectively ifrit and titan beating the absolute dogshit out of each other while falling down an endless chasm*

Right!? I was just so flabbergasted by the whole thing. It's too sick!
AND IT ENDS WITH A ORAORAORA CLASH!
It's even more metal than that, because the chasm is Titan Lost's corpse. You beat the literal god outta that man and he just keeps coming. Absolutely legendary!
It's even better, Kupka made his entry by *jumping up at Clive.* Meaning he not only knew that Rosfield was coming down his corpse, but that he didn't want to wait at the bottom and jumped up at Ifirit *Fist first*.
My favorite part about this fight, is that after all the stuff you just did... Zero fucks are given. The fact that Even while in free fall the priority for these two is beating the dog shit outta each other with no concern for how or where they're going to land. Just pure Hatred for the other in this fight and i love it. 2 Eikons Duking it out with pure intent to kill, just as god intended.
The part from 1:30 onwards is my absolute favorite from this entire game. SUCH A BANGER

I never realised that they added more to this version, and even altered some of the lyrics subtly. Love how it isn't simply an orchestral cover.

I would like to take a moment to thank the people that recognized and pointed out that the choir is singing the guitar melody from Under the Weight because that makes me love this song even more now.
OH SHIT, first Garuda's trumpets playing a bit of FFXIV Garuda's theme, and now Titan having a reference to FFXIV titan, the other eikon likely also have references to their FFXIV counterparts.
@@legeulIfirit has some, Bahamut is a FFXIV reference fest. Odin has a few segments that are similar to Odin's fight from FFXIV.
@@legeul I could never hear the Fallen Angel references in Garuda's theme, or at least at the part where most people say the reference is. But luckily someone in the Garuda video posted on this channel pointed out the bells in the background at 1:23 in the video play the melody and yeah, now I hear the Fallen Angel bits.
I love Soken soundtracks.
I thought this was going to be another case of people finding connections between songs when there really isn’t any but nah that shit is BLATANT. Soken really just took a bar out of Under the Weight and expanded it into the core leitmotif of Kupka. Absolute legend.
It's not the same lyrics, but the note progression is too similar to a specific segment that I can't ignore it.
this fight was so badass
it felt really personal honestly, and nigh nothing in the game beats the satisfaction of pummeling Titan

Agreed, whilst for me both Bahamut and Ultima were insane spectacles of biblical proportions, this fight felt just so utterly raw and personal that I can’t help but find it stands easily as an equal with the other two.
Titan is the best fight in the game cause it's a three-round grudge match where both participants know it's not ending without one of them dead on the floor
Hugo Kupka was an OPP
Seeing him fall back after staggering as the music begins to swell and he pushes both sides of the mountain walls of the collapsing Titan Lost is a special moment to me. This is a 30 minute fight, and by that point you’re already beyond elated and flabbergasted that it’s still going, not understanding how it could get any better. Then he does that, and the song shows how amazing it truly is to you opening up along with the walls.
The game is a fucking masterpiece
I feel the opposite in regards to length. Alot of the fight was relegated to that boring and slow eikon fight stuff - the spectacle was cool but i dread having to do all that again in NG+. I wish they had made the actual eikon fights as interesting as your normal combat abilities.
Would definitely not call this game a masterpiece. The eikon fights are boring and repetitive. Having to do it 3 times for Titan was so boring . At least this song made it tolerable by the last stage

@collenjets123 I once again felt the opposite, fighting these bosses on the new game + extra hard difficulty just made it even more fun and intense.
My favorite thing about this entire fight from phase 1 to the end where you’re falling through titan lost is that Clive mimics every major ability titan has by saying “if you can do it, so can I!”
Clive: "So it's the same type of stand as Ifrit"

This fight is the new Kratos VS Cronos (but 100 times more EPIC).
I know this whole fight just kept going and going it was insane from beginning to end
Basically what if Cronos got a second wind and shrank in size just to make it more personal.
It's that bloody epic.
this whole game is what ragnarok boss fights should have looked like, so pathetic seeing what they can do with the ps5 by seeing these ff16 boss fights and then remembering what we got in ragnarok.
@@dimkacrackerI might add that these bosses just show how the newer GoW titles missed the mark, sacrificing the pure fun of older GoW's for that stupid cinematic feeling.
FF16 is the best God of War since GoW3 and this fight alone tops Kronos/Zeus etc.
Its Kratos vs Chronos with a bit of Asura vs Wyzen Phase 2 and 3 added fo rthe On Rails Shooter sections.
It’s refreshing to see so much effort and beauty put into a boss fight that is born from nothing but the pure hatred the opponents have for each other.
Best fight based on a misunderstanding/confusion category
It was at this point in the game where hindsight kicked in and the music that plays in the opening during shiva vs titan had both the motif of shiva/her dominant and titan. I kept expecting shiva's motif to start during this fight because of it, and instead - we're met with a more heroic take on a motif we hear a lot around clive. Soken is a peak composer
Honestly though, I feel like this fight could have been even better had Jill come with Clive to face Hugo, so that it would have been Ifrit & Shiva going up against Titan. They could even have integrated Ifrit learning his explosion move as being a case where Ifrit learned it in response to Shiva being about to take a nasty hit from Titan, and Ifrit just jumps in front of it to protect her. It could even have played out during Titan Lost that every time Titan Lost destroyed the route Ifrit was taking to get to him, Shiva would either create a new one for Ifrit to use, or "repair" the broken path with her ice. And then they could have Shiva jumping in during most of the "defensive" cinematic clashes where she'd use her ice to try and shield Ifrit from harm (and failing it could either result in Shiva taking the hit instead, or her ice shield isn't enough and Titan just plows right through to nail Ifrit) while Ifrit focused almost exclusively on the offensive cinematic clashes.
Especially since both Clive and Jill had a score to settle with Hugo, and yet it's Clive alone who actually confronts him.
This and Bahamut are my favorite boss fights of all time. It's like Godzilla meets DBZ.

This is one of the best fights ever in the entire game. It was between this & Bahamut super close but titan takes the crown slightly better.

Throwback to ffxiv titan being where the game really got hype for the first time. This whole game has been hype but holy hell dude this is just on another level.
Getting burnt out on 14 after having beaten Ifrit and a good chunk past that.

@@Wizard_Pikachu Just beat Heavensward keep soldiering on through ARR. It's worth it to get to that prize.
@@Wizard_Pikachu ARR is a slog, but I don't recommend skipping it either, since a lot of it sets the groundwork for future expansions. If skipped, a good bit of those expansions would either not make sense, or just not hit as hard as it should.
The shift at 1:30 solidifies this is Ifrits win. This is just the victory lap at this point

Such insane epicness. They truely made him an incredible Eikon. Finally some love, power and charisma for Titan.
They're chanting to the melody of the solo from UNDER THE WEIGHT. This is more than just the final clash of Clive and Kupka, this is the rematch between Soken and Titan.
And the vocalizations are from his third theme, Titan Lost phase 2. Soken is a fucking god.

1:28 this is an insane feat when you realize they are falling in Titan losts corpse. Titan barely needed any effort to move the entire thing.

Even in the grip of pure madness, the only thing on Hugo's mind, indeed his only instinct was to kill Clive. Nothing else mattered.

I am almost at the end of ffxvi, but this fight has been in my mind since I did it, I loved all the other eikons fight but this one there was something I just loved about it and it felt like it kept going and going and the fight managed to go stronger and stronger, definitely a really impressive and fun fight.
Also the three part tracks for this fight were amazing.
Bahamut is better.
@@janogabor7697 is alright, I really liked bahamut fight, same with odin, but I definitely liked Titan more for some reason, both fight very spectacular though, but hey we both can have our favorites, no shame on that.
This was a proper grudge match whereas Bahamut felt more spectacular and Odin was just intimidating. I enjoyed all 3 for different reasons. My jaw genuinely hit the floor when round 3 started as did my brother's when he played it. I'm ahead of him so waiting for him to hit the Bahamut fight which is also ridiculously insane

This is my #1 most replayed video in 2023. This fight hit me on an emotional level that reminded me of a movie I watched when I was very young:
When I was living in Japan watching Japanese television, I came across an Ultraman movie. I didn't really understand much of it nor do I remember the title, but I do recall some details. Near the end of the movie, Ultraman was fighting the main villain, but it was at night and Ultraman was knocked out. The people of the city began to surround him, begging him to save them. Ultraman's power source in this movie was light, and the people were illuminating him with glowsticks, flashlights, spotlights, searchlights, headlights, cellphones...anything to revive him. Ultraman was weak, but seeing the people depending on him and crying for his help got him to stand back up.
I don't know if this was an edit or was perfectly timed, but at 3:08, my memory of that Ultraman scene came flashing back to me. Titan pinning Ifrit against the wall was Ultraman knocked down on the ground powerless, Ifrit absorbing the aether crystals was Ultraman absorbing the light sources by the people, and the chanting of the song were the people united shouting at Ultraman to not give up and help them.
There were many amazing games that released this year, but sometimes all it takes is a single moment in a game to make it a favorite, and this fight + Heart of Stone makes FFXVI my favorite game and favorite gaming moment of 2023. Call it an anime shounen hero trope, but seeing Ifrit struggle against an enemy 10 times his size and then becoming empowered with aether crystals while a chorus is chanting for him in the background is a scene that will make me hype and cry harder than any medium. If this is an edit, thank you for making it. I'll be looping this for a long while yet.

That change of tune that happens during the song reminds me a bit of the Final Fantasy theme but altered a bit. It felt fittingly heroic since I think this was the first time Clive was fighting an Eikon battle for others rather than for survival or himself.

The switch to phase 4 of Titan was the first time in a long time a game faked me out into thinking it was over. It didn't even register that I didn't get a "Titan Slain" until he burst in and I shouted "You gotta be fucking kidding me!"

@@WhatsTheTakeawayou're correct, I'm also still playing the main game but I've played this boss twice now and yh you play through the entire scenario but u can skip cutscenes before starting the level it's actually really fun and it honestly doesn't take too long

just so you guys know that this part of Titan's Theme is his Actual theme, you hear part of it during his battle with Shiva, you hear it before his battle with Clive the first time and hear it here

This has weirdly similar energies to Invincible from FF14, and I mean that in the best way possible.
Well that's because while Sokken did all the other music, the music that plays when fighting Titan is the guy who does FF14 music, Sokken asked him to compose one
