Soken, the composer, wanted Ascension to sound regal and somber to reflect the fact that Dion is not only an imperial prince with a lot of passion in his soul, but he's also very much a tragic hero.
I legit went limp from how insane this boss was when I cleared it. Not even the last fight in Endwalker got me this hype

@@Drake1701 Well it's a very old game with scripted combat and outdated mechanics, there's so much they can do. This is why i'd rather have them invest in single players games like FFXVI, they are so much better than online MMOs..
Being as close to my brother as I am. Everything about this fight and the reunion after made this game something special for me. I felt all the emotions

And then there's knowing how much of a good person Dion is, to see him reduced to *this* was rough. A brutal battle between three men who truly should have been allies from the start, but here the brothers have to defeat Dion in order to save him and the world from himself.
I lost my brother so that feeling when Clive sees his brother again after thinking he's dead, incredible moment.

Without a doubt THE perfect theme for the Dragon God himself. Regal, authoritative, self defining. Few OSTs compare.

And there's also the undertone of sorrow/sadness, which upon seeing what caused Dion to go berserk makes sense in retrospect. The guy only wanted to save his father and people from Ultima, only to inadvertently strike down his father himself. This entire fight is basically Dion having been driven mad by grief and rage.
One of the coolest gaming moments ever, fighting out in space against Bahamut who can wipe the planet out with a single Zettaflare with Clive and Joshua together. Freaking amazing.
The more I repeat that fact, the more incredible it becomes
game peaked in this moment for me, from this point on (including what happens with clives mother) was kinda meh in cimparison to THIS

Ok, this is definitely the coolest game ever.
After this fight in particular, I had to put my controller on the charger, go outside and have a cigarette. No joke. Fucking epic.
After I got back to the hideaway I had to set my controller down and just stare at the screen to take it all in. Even now I still can’t believe the spectacle I witnessed. Bahamut is back!

Once i saw Golden Bahamut... i had UCOB ptsd hard during this fight and loved every bit of it. We need to get the OST over to FFXIV so i can play this in my house

Dude was ready to donut the planet just to take us out
You as Ifrit and your brother as The Phoenix fuse to form a much stronger being to fight the Dragon God in space because it is completely out of control and by the end of the fight the Dragon God casts the strongest Flare spell and you just pierce through the beam and pierce the Dragon Louisoux-style and makes a badass pose at the end of the fight.
100/10 fight honestly, peak Final Fantasy.

can't even put into words how funny it is that they made probably the most ridiculous, audaciously over the top video game boss ever with titan and then were like "fuck it lets makes the next one even more insane"

The violin section at 3:00 is a fast sample variation of FF6 Battle Theme (Battle Start)
The music at 0:44 is a sample variation of the final part of Liberi Fatali from FF8 (Fithos Lusec Wecos Vinosec)
0:54 is taken straight out from Katyusha. I’ve been pondering about that part because its exactly similar and I finally found where it’s taken from.

im playing it in a small tv in perfomance mode, had my ps5 cleaned the fans and shit....no overheat issues so far

the whole bahamut boss fight was one of the most cool and exciting things i've ever seen mixed in with the amazing soundtrack it made me feel things i've never felt before.
Does anyone notice that beginning of this music is literally the epic version of Dions theme? Dions theme is very slow and soothing which is another version of this song. *You can hear Dions theme when he was with Kihel and when he says goodbye to Terence.* Both Dion and Bahamut technically have the same theme song but in different versions,which defines their character and Eikons perfectly! I love this!

It’s too late :/ I kind of spoiled it for myself already. My curiosity got the best of me. It looks awesome 😎 Only thing I’m not excited for is the side missions. Everything else looks stellar
@@anvy1231 side missions are really good for worldbuilding, and a batch of them never takes that long.

Incredible how Bahamut is defeated (man leaping through chest) the same way he was in FFXIV, the other game Yoshi-P helmed.
I'd like to point out a detail: Bahamut has an attack called "Mortal Coil" where he fires rapid pillar-like explosions
"Mortal Coil" is the English translation of "Ahk Morn"

Also I think his attack in FFXIV is called Triple Coil as well. That is still very likely a reference to the Coils of Bahamut, which are in three parts and is the first place in FFXIV where Akh Morn is used

Pretty cool! Feels like the composer took inspiration on Evangelion OST or something. Like in the "The Wrath of God in all its Fury", "Ultimate Soldier" or "Carnage". At least for me, that's the first thing that came to mind while listening to it. Really nice.
