Hey Chuck I'm 20 years old and I'm a local truck driver man..listen I was going through a lot untill i found your channel u really inspired a young man to change his life and I work for Sygma all the way down in Michigan and I can't wait to move up in the industry and thank you to all my fellow truck drivers like Chuck says in every video and I wish I can upload my truck but I gotta do it unnoticed or my boss I'll be upset 😂😂
Keep up the great work and much success to you sir!
@@TheTulsaTrucker omg church I didn't think you'd respond and yessir I will continue to be great

Really love watching you interact with people when you do your deliveries and stuff. As an OTR driver that deals with people who are usually less than thrilled to see you, it's refreshing watching people actually smile and be happy and cheerful lol. I make it a point to try to be as nice and polite as I can when I go into shipping/receiving offices but it's hard sometimes when people are so dull and irritated all of the time 😂
Oh you'll get alot of that with LTL also. Trucks coming in every 5 mins to drop off 1-2 pallets then you got OTR guys already there w/ full trailers. You'll go certain places and get ignored or yelled at 😅😅
Your company's refrigerated trailers are interesting. Crossed docked with two of them, recently near Newark.
The rapport you have with Estes customers is amazing. Keep on spreading the good Chuck 🙏💪
Have to take care of those customers 👊🏻
I am really enjoying the increased volume of VLOGS you are posting since going back to p&d work! Really active busy and your life style tips are sooooo helpful!
You are not the only one. I have a hard time remembering to wear gloves.
Crazy...🤘
👊🏻
Yes sir nothing like those heavy dock plates. My back hurts just watching you.😅
Your customer relations skills are awesome Chuck. Estes should be proud to have you as an employee.
That’s from all those years of owning my own company plus it’s just how we should all work with others. Have a blessed week sir!!
Been having a lot of Covenant transport trucks hauling the freight lately while Estes drivers are getting their runs cut. Many city and and dock workers are not even getting 40 hours a week. I figure eventually there will be some people living so they can find a job where they can make a living. Im concerned with fall and winter when it normally slows down if its going to be worse than now. Any ways hang in their folks. Its strange times we living in and who knows whats coming?
I do here this happening in some areas and others are non stop work. Some freight lanes are better than others but it’s definitely slowing down everywhere.
Thanks for the ride. Be safe.
👊🏻
Nice driving, nice explaining, nice video, thank you very much!👍🏻👌🏻👊🏻
👊🏻
Thought he had a refrigerator in the truck, but maybe because it s a company truck they don t offer that.
No refrigerator but would be nice 😁
I like all the info you give. Keep it up!
👊🏻
You make awesome videos!! thanks so much. What you are showing I used to do etc. Once you have gone a couple times to customers you get
to know where they are. I found that I would never remember their street #'s but I knew right where they were.
I think it is a very rewarding job! all so you get to meet so many great people every day. Hello's/smiles.😃
I love to see what other State's and City's look like. Wherever you are looks so green. The roads are different there then here in AZ. And it's cool to see how there are no fences around the backyards. So interesting. Thanks

@@GrammarPoliceInvestigations 🤣👏
Chuck, I like to investigate it keeps life interesting. Another great video have a blessed holiday weekend.
Question. Why don't you pull your next stop forward to save you time?
I’m already blowing my stops too fast as it is 😂😂. Plus freight just rides better next to other freight.
That smooth drop on the very first pallet with the Jack was fun to watch. Enjoy the videos sir!
Keep um coming chuck love the channel
👊🏻
Chuck you need one of those clipboards with a storage compartment. LOL!!!!!
I had one didn’t like it. 😂
Hey buddy. Another great video as always. Hope you have a great and safe Labor Day weekend.
Thanks Travis 👊🏻
I'm curious, are their times you'd rather be in a pup trailer delivering? I know they're more of a pain to back than a 53 in some ways but easier since you need less space. I'm just curious on what you would prefer to deliver with?
I prefer the 53 when doing a route but if just doing extra runs definitely a pup you can get just about anywhere a car can.
i'm the same with gloves! i've got 3-4 pairs, do p&d too. i have to use lava soap to get all the grime off at the end of the day.
I got the opportunity to have dinner with an LTL Estes driver from Massachusetts, and he was a great guy. I also had to plug the channel to him.
Have a great weekend
You as well Michael
Yeah I think I asked that once how you determine the order of deliveries and pickups...
Got a link for that Walmart cooler?
Last time I was there didn’t see the same one. Might have just been seasonal item but they have others like it.
I also drive for an ltl outfit. We wear green.
It has become more difficult in recent months to do very simple things. So many customers are understaffed and also tend to not fix forklifts and dock plates.
I expected to do something different once we paid off the house, but everything else out there seems to suck worse than driving a truck. So, after 29 years of doing exactly what you do, I guess I will do it a couple more years.
Your observations are very on point. Staffing and upkeep are on the down trend. I would also agree that there are definitely worse occupations. My wife and I became debt free in 2014 and after selling my company in 2019 and could retire “FIRE” Financially Independent Retire Early, I decided to get my CDL and ultimately get to an LTL company. I definitely enjoy the P&D but can’t wait to go back to LH in January.
great video sir
Link for your thermos? Thanks

If I didn’t live in western ny I would be doing the linehaul seems like they always need people here for that position wish they had sleepers too.
Are you not on the extra board, anymore? I must’ve missed something somewhere.
P&D was short handed to I came back to help until mid January then will go back to the XB
@@TheTulsaTrucker gotcha
Chuck your last delivery there, I used to work at their corporate. Great group of people there. I've been to that location several times.
did you have an overhead door franchise/dealership?
I owned my own company. OHD was a local competitor but I got along with the ownership more than enough work for all of us. 👍🏻
Our TM and dock crew cared less how you ran your run. That was the drivers problem how it was loaded. You were lucky if multiple skid orders were together. It was almost every day we reloaded our trailer at our first dock stop. Our terminal crew were anal orifices. However your stops came off the break trailers is how they loaded them. Very frustrating.
I have been fortunate with our dock, they do a good job for the most part loading things the way we as drivers want it.
10 drivers covered 4 states to add to our frustration. Some routes covered 400 miles. Then they wanted to fuss when you didn't make a stop by 1530. Man I'm glad I don't have to fool with that anymore. 😂
Hi Chuck this is the earliest I have been on any video
Hi chuck
👊🏻
Hey Chuck its Gage. Ive been following you since you first started your corvette channel. All your content from your corvette experience to trucking has inspired me alot. I myself have been looking to pursue a career in trucking, since i too have some goals that id like to achieve(such as a new corvette), wanted to ask you with P&D, does your schedule vary from when you first begin driving truck? Are you home every night or are you on the road for 2-3 days at a time?
Hi Gage good to hear from you!! P&D drivers work during the day and are home every night. As a new driver your schedule is normally 9-7pm as you gain time that will change for the better. I work 7-5 nearly every day but sometimes 6-4
You are one of the best. They should hire you as a trainer. You are very good it want you. Great with the customer and the employees that you work with. Have a great day looking forward too the next one.
I appreciate that Gerald, enjoy your weekend as well!!
Can u explain how u run ur logs are u on duty off duty when u do ur drops and pu etc and can u explain the weights on the axles on a set of doubles
As a local driver you don’t have to keep a log as long as you don’t work to many hours
After 5 min it automatically puts us in on duty not driving
Hey Chuck, did you make old sparky? I currently use a wire with two modified butt connectors that someone else graciously left behind. Saw you use it in another video wasn’t sure if it did anything else but complete the circuit between the two posts.
Sparky was given to me by a mentor who retired. It was the one he used for years. I have only had to use it twice but comes in handy when it’s needed. It only closes the circuit from what I understand.
@@TheTulsaTrucker Ahhh mentor gifts, makes you think of them when ya use it. I saw Chris in one of his vids use a paper clip, if I remember correctly it’s the left and right top pins. That’s how I found the wire that now resides in my safety vest until needed. I bet sparky has a jump wire between those two pins.
Lookls like most of your drop's r Fairley straightforward
Most are just depends on the day.
Chuck, you have the perfect personality to be a P&D driver. I fully understand why line haul is a more attractive job, but the P&D world will be losing an asset when you go back to line haul.
I appreciate that Warren 👊🏻
How often do you use your hazmat placards?
1-2 times a week on average
My route is daily
What are those plastic bins that you have on the floor between the seats?
They are just small crates Walmart
Are y’all’s ELDs permanently mounted in the trucks or do you keep them as assigned equipment ?
Yes they stay with the truck
I didn't see a hardhat in your truck? Do most places furnish you one if needed?
Yes
Hey Chuck, you do a great job dealing with customers but do you have any interaction with your salespeople?
From time to time I talk with our sales guy.
Love the videos, but always wonder why you don't have a small clipboard for your delivery notes, you and the customers are always looking for something to rest on while you sign.
Would be something else to hold on too, I have never seen another P&D driver holding a clipboard while doing deliveries but on a slower route maybe it would be fees able
You want me to back up to that dock there? You better move that pick up truck.
I want to see a bulk swap and a large pickup.
Those are just drop and hooks not much to show on those.
@@TheTulsaTrucker I definitely want to see a 10+ skid pickup.
I run P&D in NC. I thought it was a violation to have placards in the truck if you weren't loaded with hazmat. I'm not sure I've only been doing it for a couple years but I have always made sure to get them out at the end of my day just to cover myself
You can have all the placards you want in the cab. I carry extras in the XB just incase one of the bulk ones should come off I can replace it.
Good to know. I've had to refuse freight cause the shipper didn't have any
Hello chuck do you guy have time commits or is it end of day?
We have time restraints for priority freight in the morning and for pickups in the afternoon due to companies closing.
U sure earn ur pay and seem to do it enthusiastically.
Hi Chuck. Does Estes have box trucks to drive or is it all semis
Estes has box trucks the Estes in Cleveland, Ohio has a big Kenworth box truck that runs around town making deliveries.
have you ever been stuck on an overnight run. Had to stay put because the repairs would cost you time and money?
No sir
Can you please link the Yeti on steroids drink cooler. Other places might carry it. Thanks.
amzn.to/3QddwNU
More nice content.
What is the weight limit allowed on a pallet?
As long as the pallet can hold it
4500
The heaviest pallet I've ever had was 5,600# according to our delivery receipt. I delivered it to an oil refinery in Oregon Ohio. I couldn't move it with a pallet jack so a guy with a small graduall with a short boom lifted it up and out of the trailer. His 2 back wheels were off the ground because of the counter weight of the pallet.
