I will say that while E:D was what initially drew us to your channel, I'm fairly sure damn near anyone would agree that we didn't stay because of Elite, we stayed because you are one absurdly good writer, editor and in general creator, and so I think a lot of people will be sticking with you regardless of what you move on to.

I’m blessed at this time to be totally new to elite Dangerous so I don’t have years of boredom and fatigue behind me yet. It’s all new and fascinating to me at this time. Of all the content for Dangerous, yours to me is the best. When I search RUclips with a question, it’s yours I click on first.
When I saw the type 10 for the first time, I was blown away… and then I found your video for the 10, and I knew I had to have one. The way you described it was exactly how it made me feel… that anything was possible.
I am sorry to catch you at the end of this leg in your journey. Just know that as long as you leave this content up, you will continue to accompany new commanders as they begin their own journey, to infinity, and beyond.

Your work in Elite Dangerous is a Keystone in the community Content Creation and watching it should be the right of passage of any CMDR out there.
Beyond that it takes an incredibly self aware individual to know where ones limits are; and even wiser to respect them.
I hope you find a place that inspires you as much as your work in Elite has Inspired all of us. I still go back to your Corvette video from time to time; much the same that people don't watch the grand tour for the cars as much as they are there for the hosts.

Everything ends. Everything beautiful, everything ugly, everything special, always ends. If Elite Dangerous has taught me anything at all, it is that we are but cosmic dust, in the light for only a moment.
It is what we do during our moment, how we use our gravity in the galactic instant we draw breath, that makes all the difference. You have created something truly special, at least to me.
I've always been a fan of space flight sims since the days of Terminus, a game made back when life seemed simpler and for whatever reason, I hadnt even discovered Elite Dangerous until I somehow stumbled onto your channel, watched the ship guides and I was hooked.
You truly have "The Gab" which is more than just really satisfying voiceover work. There's such a truthful balance in your creations, that no matter what game or subject you choose next, I can't wait to see what you come up with.
So rather than my usual and parting with a meme or a pithy comment, I'll tell you this. Thank you. Thank you for every bit of your soul that you poured into this game to create something this special.

Your ship content re-invigorated my love of Elite; the production values and you wonderful tones have delighted. May you find success in the next venture and perhaps we will see you in game again in the future.

Everything ends and it's always sad. But then...everything begins again and it's always happy. You climbed a mountain, Pilot; you're free to choose the next one.

When and if you ever feel that itch to craft and share a little content, I’ll be right here with a back scratcher. Thanks for all you’ve done, and best of luck on the new course you have plotted.

    Hey Pilot.
I feel like you've come to the same conclusion that every commander has since Horizons. Those first dozen or so hours in Elite feel like falling in love. But once you get your bearings, and take a peek behind the curtain, all of the magic goes away. I think a lot of Elite vets started watching this channel because you had so much optimism for the game and it's future. Through your videos, we were able to relive the thrill and wonder of being a new commander. We were able to immerse ourselves in a vast and wondrous galaxy, flying our spaceships into the inky black with a few lasers and no shortage of determination. You gave us all hope that one day, Elite could be the game we all knew it could be.
It's no surprise to me that your Elite content is going away. At some point, you have to accept that the potential will never be fulfilled. At some point, you're let down so much that you fall out of love. And at that point, the only option is to walk away.
Thank you Pilot, for all of this.
    o7

While I'm sure a degree of the departure is due to the potential not being met, the effect of that is magnified for a creator. I burned out on Save the World way after creators with about the same time of game play did, because I didn't get hammered by fans to talk about the annoyances that, in honesty were minor. Also, it gets hard to make fresh content on a game, and even harder to make it on an in-development game.

I'm a 32 old dude who loves space and always wanted a life like that. Knew elite since 2017 but never had the will/courage/décision to actually play it till this year. For me it was... It's not childish to realize your childish dreams! It's part of me anyway...
It's saddening because once I started playing and watching videos to help me grasp all this lore, such a quality content creator like you, walks away...
Wishing you all the best tho... I loved everything you did... From the writing, the cinematic shots, the editing... Everything.

Totally agree with Yamiks. Even if you just do food blog videos - you should do it as The Pilot. Thanks for all the great content dude. You made Elite more fun for me and doubtless many, many more folks. Kudos to you for bowing out classily if you just aren't feeling it anymore.

Dang man, I remember when you hit 200 subs. What a journey it has been. Thank you for the most gorgeous elite videos I have ever seen. I don’t know what it was about Elite but it lost its charm about a year ago to me and some of my friends too. Moving on was inevitable. Thank you again for the fantastic content and music. Best of luck out there. o7o7o7
