Polyphia and their song Playing God are incredible. The lead guitarist's name is Tim Henson and he was recently featured on a song with another top level guitarist named Marcin. You should check out that song and have your mind blown, the song is called Classical Dragon.
If you guys like this band, definetely check out the band 'Unprocessed' and their new record. 'Glass' is one of my favorites from them and they do actually collab with this band in the song 'Die On The Cross Of The Martyr.'
Yes, listen to this guy! Unprocessed is so underrated. Unprocessed, Polyphia and Sleep Token are what got me listening to music again after checking out somewhere around 2010.

Polyphia is a bunch of wildly talented dudes. The drummer is one of my favorites! Check out GOAT, Goose, or Ego Death by them!
The fretboard of Tim's guitar has what is called an "inlay", usually made of mother of pearl or precious stone in most guitars, it is purely decorative (still gorgeous!).
You should watch the very recently released Polyphia/BABYMETAL video, "BRAND NEW DAY, with Tim Henson and Scott LePage".

I have that same guitar. Yeah the neck is so cool. Called “tree of Death”. It’s inlaid into the neck so it’s flat and doesn’t change the sound.
This band is so incredibly talented... and Dallas you would be a great backup whistler... check out the song ego death next

the inlay on Tim Henson's guitar that you pointed out is called "the Tree of Death" (TOD for short- it's his signature model Ibanez classical nylon-stringed acoustic hybrid)

The album as a whole from which this is, "Remeber That You Will Die" is a well balanced effort varying between pop of "ABC" , fusion jazz "The Audacity" and heavier elements "Bloodbath". ABC and Bloodbath feature singers Sophia Black and Chino Moreno respectively. Please check them out ! :)
They used real performers for the whistling, vocal harmony & the violins instead of samples or synthesisers.
You're gonna love the Polyphia rabbit hole.
If you want more from them, I'd love to see you guys check out "Nightmare" or "Euphoria". They are both from their second album and don't get enough love anymore. People always request stuff off the latest album, the song G.O.A.T., or the Babymetal collab now.
Basically the whole reaction scene sleeps on their second album, and it's still their best overall work in my opinion. That album is bursting at the seams with catchy melodies.
2 standout music videos for polyphia are 40oz and ABC with Sophia Black. They're great!!!
I know I'm late but fun fact- the whistling is somebody on fiverr that Tim Henson paid for then autotuned the whistling a bit to fit the song
I actually love the fact your brain went into a cool thought with how you might have perceived what the design on the neck was for ... I love when people shoot with their thoughts like that .. because now how cool would it be if someone designed a guitar with pick ups in the neck and the designs could change tones and stuff on top of what the guitar already does
That whistling is the only thing I can do in this song. Guitars are way over my head on this one! 😂

In your own time if you watch the unplugged version of Playing Good with just Tim Henson from the band. It's insane to watch his hand movements. Honestly it's very worth watching. It really makes you appreciate this song so much more.

The design is called something like a "vine of life inlay", which I'm down for. I think his is different but thats the original type of design, but its basically vines and doesn't effect the sound.
