The conversation with "Dolores Dei" is *such* a good point in the game where not only do you get the full picture of Harry x Dora, you also get to see your skills, even the best and most developed, fail *miserably* to try and "win her back". I also can't shake off the soft-yet-powerful feeling that Dolores gives off at points, like after reading The Letter back to her.
Well said, man. I managed to pass the skill check to kiss her, which of course didn't work. You're so used to skill checks being an "I win" button in games, it really reinforces how powerless you are in the situation. You can't supercop your way into her heart. It's just... Over.
The Disco Elysium world is like a Civilization game session. All things are there, civilizations have developed, all is painted with the same brushes but different strokes were used.
Forgot to finish watching the video bc I stopped at the spoilers, caved and finally bought the game, finished it and started buying it for my friends to play and only just now remembered I paused the video 2 weeks ago. This is truly the best crpg I’ve ever had the fortune to play
I have played this through five times, and it's just so complete. It leaves me depressed when it wraps. Not like, sad, but missing it? idk. It's immaculate.
By the way, the original creators of the game were kicked out of the studio, because they accused the CEO of fraudulent practices (which they were doing, but the creators were unable to win the case), so if you want to play this masterpiece of a game it's better to get it through "alternative means"
Wait, what? 15:38? How can you see what Harry did BEFORE he fell into amnesia, how he smashed the window and passed out drunk? I've never seen this in the game! How did you get this scene?
I just have to comment on this crap: "f for this bitchiest Dolores Dain, f for Kim. Kuno is the best, finding fazmide is the best thing you've ever done. And no sleep before you've done your job".
Great content man!! Just came over from your Project Zomboid review! Everything's so high quality, you're 100% going places. I bought Disco Elysium last year around when all the voice acting stuff came out, never really got too into it. I think for me it was a little too intimidating, not understanding the world, the systems, the gameplay. This has definitely encouraged me to give it another shot!! P.S. Without any major spoilers, could you perhaps give some tips for the issues I'm having? Mainly just a feeling of being lost in a game totally unfamiliar.
Being unfamiliar with the world is more or less the intention. It's history mirrors IRL history to an extent, so youre supposed to feel a bit of deja vu when someone mentions something like the communist revolution or the past monarchy. You're also not really expected to know what you're doing in terms of gameplay. Just do what you want, in whatever order you want. Even if something's not directly relevant to the case, it'll still be helpful in the long run.
@@Toastoffire100 Hmm hmm, I get what you mean. Yeah that does make things better because I felt like *I* was being dumb and not understanding what's going on. Thanks a lot!! I'll definitely get back to you if and when I finish the game!!
Yeah I never take that advice either lol, it's just a way to cover my ass so I didn't have to worry about preserving the blind playthrough experience for half the video
I've heard bits and pieces of praise for this game come from a lot of different places, but I haven't been in the mood for a "story-heavy" game for a while now so I've sort of willinbgly let it pass by me. However, your explanation of how the mechanics of the game interweave with the story flipped my doubts about getting invested in a "story-heavy" game on its head because the way you describe it makes it sound downright amazing. I am *definitely* going to be checking it out for myself real Soon™. (And don't worry, I skipped the spoilery parts of your video :P. But, I'll be back to check them out after I finish because the way you explain your thoughts on the games you review is simply phenomenal and basically every video of yours I've seen so far has been a treat to watch just for that, even when its on games I have no personal interest in playing, but *especially* on the games you've reviewed that I've already played.)
Thank you :) Yeah, story-heavy games are a pretty big investment, and playing one blind is a lot to ask. I tried to capture what hooked me personally, so I'm glad to see it worked out.
Underrail is fucking incredible. I have 250 hours in it and still haven't done everything. Only reason I didn't mention it in this video was because of how close it is to "undertale" phonetically lmao
@@Toastoffire100 So true about undertale part, i hate to clarify it all the time XD , i hope you'll make vid about undertail one day, cos i love the game, it's replayability and builds
RIP ZA/UM. Died in the most poetic way possible for an art collective: killed by bankers and financial interests ripping their now profitable studio and hand crafted setting away from them.
I loved this game but I feel like it overstayed its welcome. This is something I've never complained about before in terms of video games but I honestly think it should have been shorter.
Some builds come across a bit of a wall in one part of the game, and I think you're given a few too many in-game days to do everything. Every playthrough I've done involved spamming through the cockatoo book to pass time
Lmao. I tried twattimg Cuno and ended up a sad embarassing heap on the floor. Those few seconds alone made me almost spit my tea out laughing! Then I apologised lol X😂

Oh boy, you are not gonna like the news...

Excellent way to put it
@@Toastoffire100 Hi there, would you ever make a review of these games; God of War, Battle Toad and Lies of P?
Review - noita and starsector and haven and hearth xD

8:32 That sammitch sounds absolutely delicious...
Ayy, I live for disco elysium reviews. Can’t wait to watch this.
Disco Elysium is one of the best experiences I had; I hope other RPG will improve their writings

It's from one of the trailers. There may be a flashback scene or something, but sadly I've never seen it
@@Toastoffire100 Yeah, me neither. Probably a cut content. Great essay!!!
Fucking crime. Man best of luck with
the algorithm, really wish you'd get more luck, the quality for a channel this small is insane
Thank you :)
I have no idea what the special sauce is to make the algorithm notice me, I'm just tryin my best on the videos themselves
I have probably watch a lot of review on Disco Elysium but I still watch your video because your presentation.
Thank you :)

You really didn't get it? This old man is the head of communist revolution. Plasmid. Damm crap.
Its truly a profound game. the writing is absolutley brilliance
