- Andy is called out to a toilet blockage up in Fazarkerly today. Another company had been out and cut a whole metres up in the air, so we had to install a new access point further down. Watch it explode!

I'm always amazed people don't move their cars to give you some room
They were asleep.

I think an 18v cordless grinder might be a good investment mate....240v’s can be unforgiving if they get wet
Bet you never get anyone wanting to borrow your tools :D
Well done.
You got that right!
I wish the guys that I used a few years back were as clean as you. I had to disinfect everything after they left. My garden was a mess. Great work!
Sorry to hear that
Well it was your own mess really to clean up......your own shit!
YES! I LOVE the "Disinfectant Squad" LMFAO great job as usual!
Yes! Thank you!
I’m so glad to see the use of disinfectant in every video. We’ve learned so much in all these years.
Another satisfied customer.
I think I would've had to back my car up so you could get in and out easier if I were the owner of that car.
If the first guy had a longer ladder, he didn't need to cut a hole!.
Nice job as per usual.
Thanks for sharing.
It would be a good idea to get a bit of small pipe to put into the hole you cut into the iron pipe so that the sharp edge doesn't damage your hose
One thing I can say about you ...you do respect your customers home after working you do a thorough cleaning hopefully they give you a great review...
So true!
Just come across your channel..... I freaking love it
Glad you enjoy it!
It surprises me that people don’t move their cars so you can get in. Love your videos.
Job well done Andy. You always seem to be cheery either whistling or singing bless you. I don't know how you do it but good job 👍
Thank you very much!
Chopped it off and left it. Al Bladez. You cracked me up Andy.
Nicely done 👍
Thanks 👍
Watching these videos from Canada, it is interesting seeing drain stacks on the exterior of a house (instead of hidden within the interior wall spaces), and also 'gullies' , which I have never seen here. Plumbing code differences are significant, likely because of the extreme cold weather here.
Good point!
Watching from Florida, and I'm amazed too. Been to the UK and never notice their feces drains out to the side of there homes. I can not imagine the stench when it backs up. Also I notice all there "gullies' covers are rectangle, the covers could fall in the sewage.
@@kenograham2927 I'm just an amateur handyman who has done a ton of work on houses over the years here in the US. Yeah, really fascinated by the way that the plumbing is set up over there compared to here. It's really weird to me, lol. I have never dealt or seen a house with most of it's piping being external like this, everything here is run inside/under/through the building. Is the water pressure that bad in every place in the UK? That would drive me insane needing to wait forever for a bucket or whatever to fill up. Are showers and every inside faucet that bad as well?
@@JG-pw5cr If I had to guess, the external plumbing is due to the building being older than the sewer system. Also the big manholes seem to contribute to the clogs in the first place. I know we get clogs and root infiltration but I've never heard of so many clogs necessitating an entire industry like this. We just call the regular plumbers.
The houses are built from the times before indoor toilets. So no provision for sewage.
Awesome job! You really should consider getting yourself some Flex Tubing to put into the hole you cut to protect your jetting hose from getting all scarred and chewed up from the sharp metal. A nice dollar piece will save you from having to purchase a new jetter hose down the road.
They last long...some even go by completing 10000 drains depending on location before being replaced
Too much complexity over minor wear and tear. They woul;d just replace that section of hose. Its not as if they are cutting holes in the cast iron pipe ever day, only rarely deos that hapen.
Still good practice to protect your hose against sharp or rough edges. You certainly wouldn't want your hose to burst when you have your pressure turned right up
I am worried about that electric saw near all that water!!!
RIP that hose. Cant imagine that pipe was gentle on it.
Watching this channel makes me want to be a drain guy. There's something really satisfying about how these guys solve problems. Can that soil pipe be repaired or is it a replacement soil pipe job? I'd like a little glass window installed so I can see the turds swimming out to sea. (OK, watched to the end now. Nice tidy job. I did wonder if Andy would leave a hole like the previous cowboys. I should have known better.)
Great job as usual ....she's a gusher stay safe
Would say 110v or cordless grinders/tools for those scenarios chaps…..240v + wet working has the potential for nasty outcome and we would all hate to see any of you guys get hurt……just a thought.
Keep up the great work and videos guys, always a good watch with my tea 🤣👍🏻
Amazing well done!!
03:07 JACKPOT!!
Great video! I love the in depth clean up 👌🏻
Glad you liked it!
A great unclogging, and patch application. Cheers mate.
Good Wednesday evening to you all
Very nicely put together video and very entertaining as well. Thanks for posting this.
Thank you very much!
Luv watching these videos funny enough I've just had same problem at me parents house sorted it as well stench pipe blocked
Having cut a few cast-iron pipes I've had hoses that were cut from the sharp edges, I've used pieces of plastic bottles or rags as a cover.
This Guy Andy is brill
Where you learn this trade ? I love it 👍
We unblocked an old ladies drain she said it had been troubling for over 20 years after a lot of pressure a gigantic turf came out of the drain the diameter was about 150mm it went upwards and stopped after becoming 8 metres in length what a whopper!
This takes me back.. Art Attack was a classic 🎨😉👍
Takes longer to clean up then to get it unclogged !! Well done !
Jem says three squirts he will go crazy 😂😂😂😂
kinda surprising to me that you didn't use anything to protect your hose. I assume the cut part of the pipe isn't as sharp as I imagined.
A self sealing pipe :)
Excellent work my friend, very efficient and professional. Love your videos!
Thank you very much!
@@TheDrainUnblockers your very welcome my mate. Great workmanship on all of the videos I’ve been watching!
Cheers Andy..liked how you showed the patch repair on the stack....where do you get the plastic repair fitting you used on a previous video...keen to buy...cheers Pal
I miss the arm swing and the Magpie sound after starting the engine 😀
4:34 that's like the world's worst postbox.
Back in the day when the soil stack was put up, should of had an access pipe at the base of the stack. it's a common thing that's left out. In the video, the job is just unblocking. Guess later on a 4" cast iron timesaver access could be cut in-quicker or probably the same price as a new plastic stack with access at the bottom.
There she blow's, (hahaha 😅😂😂. Great job. Stay safe.
The job is always easier when you have the right tools!
Andy and the fish getting the job done😀 did fishy ever get a name?
It's Ratty 🐀 Tok'd cousin.
Willy the fish!!
Love a good gush haha. In that situation where there was a slight issue with the blockage wouldn’t it be a good idea to have a quick look with the cctv camera in case rest Bend was displaced or cracked
Think I would invest in a good battery powered grinder - water and electricity don't mix.
Hi there mate
job well done
The car and the flowerpot...😤
You should carry a range of triangular shaped strips of wood to butt up against the lips of drains, might make sweeping up easier.
Nice job! What kind of tape is that your using if you don’t mind me asking?
I would have said Denso, and another comment here mentions it too. It's used in many trades.
Looks like sylglass tape to me.
Does it never get below freezing temperatures over there?? All these exposed pipes would be a trouble here.
It does but not very often and the temperature doesn't normally drop too low
no its not Antarctic over here
We are on the same latitude as Hudson Bay, but have a mild climate.
We regularly have below zero temps during Winter, but as we have a maritime climate, they only last 3 days before another weather front moves in.
We dont have a continantal climate where it can sub zero for weeks.
industrial squeegee might come in handy / good addition for cleanups
Howdy! I just discovered your channel. I'm in Texas in the USA. At first your plumbing setup just seemed really weird to me. Here everything is completely enclosed in pipes with almost no access like the manholes you always show. Is it because a lot of these buildings were built before central plumbing was a thing? Is that why the plumbing is on the outside of the buildings? Are newer neighborhoods built the same way?
Many jetter hoses have been burst on the sharp edge of cut cast iron soil stacks scary stuff 👍
Love your videos! I am curious about the "tape" you used to seal the hole in the down pipe. What is it and does it dry hard after a time? Thanks for the work you do.
Prob flexitape
Nem para o dono da casa tirar o carro da entrada para ter um acesso livre , serviço muito bem feito ótimo profissional.
Protect your blue hose due to that sharp edges on the cut out my friend.
Was going to say that
Good advice!
A great thing to protect your hose on sharp edges is to use washing machine drain hose in a 4 - 5 foot length.
Another use for denso tape...brilliant stuff.
Great point!
Not wishing to sound trite but it always surprises me at the poor state of plumbing and drainage in the UK. In Australia we have used UPVC 100mm sewer pipes for years and years. Suppose o lot of UK homes are much older than here, but drainage work seems very amateurish to me. John
What was the tape you put on the pipe? Good video. Thanks for sharing
Looks like Denso tape
@@TheDoosh79 thanks for replying
May want a clean out installed. No more need to cut the cast iron...
What a difference in the way home drainage is set up in UK homes versus here in the US.
Shit literally funnels through an exterior pipe to a drain near your side entrance. They says the US is backwards, but we figured shit out.
Presumably all the power tools, door handles, hoses get a really good hygiene clean after that! Noting door handles and jetter controls are touched with both PPE and bare hands?
Surprised using 240v around water. Tidy lad, does a good job
Treat yourself to a battery grinder so much safer then mains powered one when there is water about
Did you have to replace the soil stack on this job as love to see more drain rebuild videos
I’ve watched a few dozen of your videos and I am impressed by your attention to detail for your Customers. I do wonder if you disinfect your equipment. It appears you have a great many opportunities for Cross Contamination.
Did you use the grinder because it was a cast pipe? I know you've sometimes used the plugs when you've drilled a hole.
Yess :)
That denso tape should only be a temporary fix as it dries out you should really put a collar around that pipe
Next time it backs up that piece will be off down the garden! 😂
I know the blue and green bins, but what are the purple ones? Is that tape a temporary fix until a patch can be installed?
That's our normal household waste :) Blue is recycling and green is garden waste.
How long do those hoses last? I know it's moreorless unavoidable but scraping along edges like that would degrade them.
how do you manage to clean up all your tools afterwards, that ext reel is filthy
doesnt that muck spray onto your shoes
You should collab with drain addict maybe you both can teach one another something new. Love both of your videos btw
Do you have to do everything with one hand?
My father has always fitted inspection plates
New sub
🇺🇸🦅⚓️👍🏻
Thank you 😊
I am so glad we can't smell your job
I don't think I've ever seen a pipe repair like that... how long will that bandaid hold???
Hiya guys what make of diamond blade are you using to cut into that cast iron soil vent soil stack pipe please??? Regards Paul
Wonder if that crap sludge from the pipe explosion leaks into the neighbors in these narrow alleys?
It's what we're here for. 4:32
How would you cut into the soil pipe if it was internal? Any replies would be welcome
That was some serious tape that sealed the soil stack afterwards, what type of tape is it?
Hi guys, just wondering if it is common for storm water and sewerage to both be directed down the same drain ?
Not in the US, though that may change from place to place, but it seems to be pretty common in all the houses they do in these videos
Do you think you should be using 240(230 is the real voltage) is a good idea
You should have a nice Milwaukee cordless grinder. Or is this video pre Milwaukee sponsorship.
How often do you test yourself for Hepatitis and whatnot?
Surprised you are using 230V portable grinder. 110V much safer in theses circumstances
That looked like Mummy Tape.
Whats the tape you used at the end to waterproof the pipe ?
So you paint fences
Any colour as long as it's brown
3:07 me after a particularly spicy curry
What have the owners been eating 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯 lol
What is the tape that is used to patch the hole that was cut open?
Isn’t that an asbestos pipe? If so, the last thing you should be doing is to cut it with a grinder. Even though it’s wet!
Will the patch hold?
Amazes me how much shit is backed up in these places
