East Side Midland Metro Extension update 2023

Short video, looking at the progress of the East Side Midland Metro extension. Hopefully will be returning to more regular uploads as have been filming around West midlands and Manchester Metrolink too.

thanks for this!! 👍it will be interesting to see how that section of the street will feel when the old McDonalds building has been completely cleared!! i think the first new tram stop will be Albert Street? And i think Albert Street is just the other side of the building being removed. From there you can see Curzon Street i believe! (I've only ever done this using Google Maps)

Since filming the building has gone, yes the first stop will be Albert street and then onto Curzon street, hopefully filming the route in the future, they have made good progress on the section by Digbeth coach station too.

@@streetrambler134 ok thanks! yes would love to see the progress on Digbeth Street too if you ever film that way. i can only get to Birmingham very occasionally

I wonder when will it extend to the airport?

No concrete plans as yet, but the very over delayed extension to Wolverhampton station is opening on the 4th July 2023.

That's not gonna happen any time soon. Central government need to fund it, but won't.
