- I just saw M. Night Shyamalan's new film Knock at the Cabin and wanted to talk about it. Particularly in relation to another film from 2016, 10 Cloverfield Lane. Hope you enjoy!

One of the things I enjoy about this channel outside of his it's always sunny reactions is that he realizes that at several thousands of subscribers, he shouldn't complain too too much about the algorithm and just do what he wants to do. He got a lot farther than most.

I love your analysis of this I walked out of the theater with knock at the cabin with a bittersweet taste in my mouth I thought it was enjoyable but like you I didn’t really care for anyone in the movie! Everyone did an amazing job tho!

I really enjoyed Knock at the Cabin. Thought it was good, fun popcorn entertainment with an enjoyable concept, great central performance from Bautista, and stylish if not always focused filmmaking from a director who, while I admit he has glaring faults as a story teller at times, is always someone I’ve been partial to. It’s a movie I can see myself returning to in 2 or 3 years if I’m ever just looking for fun genre movie to have on for a lazy day at home.
10 Cloverfield Lane is an utter masterpiece. I mean, every frame of it is absolutely enveloping. If I ever were to put this movie on, it would be to sit down and watch it, analyze it, and marvel at it. It’s a fully committed experience of film. A masterclass in how to create suspense through character dynamics. Knock in the Cabin I would watch again for fun genre moments that I enjoy. 10 Cloverfield Lane I watch again to become enveloped in the minds of its characters and experience top tier storytelling regardless of the fact that it’s a genre film. Plus John Goodman gives one of his all time great performances in the film.

I love 10 Cloverfield Lane. I wish we could get a proper sequel to the original Cloverfield but that's a different discussion altogether. I've enjoyed many M. Night Shyamalan films. My personal favorite is 'Signs' but I also like his Unbreakable trilogy. I also think The Visit is severely underrated. That being said, this just isn't something I want to bother seeing in theaters. I'll definitely be checking it out when it's on streaming and if I like it enough I'll get a physical copy to add to the other Shyamalan films I own. The main reason I want to see it is the cast. But I can wait till streaming for this one.

I just saw an amazing older movie that I think you might enjoy. "Chocolat" from 2000. Starring Juliette Binoche, Alfred Molina, and Johnny Depp. It's about a french village and a chocolate shop. I won't spoil anymore.

It’s funny you bring up 10 Cloverfield Lane. When I watched Knock at the Cabin on Friday, I throughly of the parallels between the two.
6:17 I actually liked this about the movie and I was glad that one of the dads was skeptical about it all. It did not take away our guess work, because it could still be real, but at least - just like me myself - one of the characters questioning it felt relatable and good to me.

What 'Knock at the Cabin' didn't get across clearly is WHY decisions were made. Without a good grounding in the family relationship, it's easy to miss that the reason for the final decision is BECAUSE of Wen - if it was just them, they could sacrifice the future, but (for Eric at least) he wasn't willing to take the chance of ruining hers. Not unusual for a Shyamalan movie to be a great idea with not great execution... Still, Bautista was AMAZING, and I adore Aldridge because of Pennyworth, so I didn't mind spending the time. Not likely to do it again though...

I went to Knock on opening night too.
Your critique is fair and accurately captures the development of the movie. One thing that perhaps doesn’t come across as well is that, apart from comparing it to other movies, Knock IS an engaging M Night movie and worth seeing and gobbling popcorn to!!
But it didn't develop the idea well enough and left way too much on the table. Disappointing.

Hey so I watched your video explaining why Nope (and other videos) were copywrite slapped and thought “hmmmm”.
You know Found Flix? Sure you do. They explain endings etc. That homie got hit hard too for his Nope upload. Here’s my thoughts as to why you guys got singled out.
Neither one of you add any extra clips, like funny snippets of video, like ZZAVID (another RUclipsr) does. I’m wondering if maybe his inclusion of scattered media sources calm the RUclips gods?

I liked Knock At The Cabin. It's certainly not as good as 10 Cloverfield Lane but that's a very high bar. I thought it was a solid movie

proabably a dumb idea, but why not record the reaction, have another channel upload the clips that you want to put in the video. have that channel claim the rights to the video, and then send you the money.......kind of like money laundering
