- Now in full the famous MTV interview when Amy is told about Prince's interest on doing a duet with her and etc. "Prince is going to study the Bible...Prince is going to be a rabbi." LOL
This was recorded early May 2007, at the time Amy was touring USA. - Видеоклипы
LOL she really did not give a crap about being famous or a celebrity. I love that.
She really didn't
And doing drugs
She didn’t want to be
Yummyleigh she wanted to sing but not have the fame
Yummyleigh watch her documentary before you say this
Dam she killing that gum
STAR CAT I wish I was that gum
zorianne1 yummy gum.....a cocaine and heroin juicy center!
Toad Stool I don't care if it's Amy's mouth :D
ewww!:)
Swear. lol
He basically called her ugly and you could tell her facial and body language was really insecure and irritated and it makes me so sad
Vivi Amerie ikr it pissed me off. She's beautiful .
mimi mimi i never said she was shy, I said insecure, she was
I don't think he wasn't saying she was ugly I think he was just saying she doesn't go out everyday looking perfect or caring about what people see like Beyoncé.
Definitely irritated and said "I tell everyone to piss off" lol. Straight implied "Piss off" and let my album speak for me.
I think she had many other things in her head other than worrying about being ugly lol
She hated being famous...she said in another interview when she was young all she wanted to be was a roller skating waitress. And then the opportunity to do music came along so she gave it a shot. She also said if she didn't have the opportunity she would be ok with that. She hated paparazzi. She wasn't star struck for any of her industry peers. But she did have a great admiration for musicians who influenced her growing up. She hated interviews. if you look at her interviews most of them shes annoyed. And doesn't wanna answer questions she's probably already been asked a million times. She was a musician in the truest form. The only thing she cared about was creating music and performing. You could listen to her music and hear that writing music was her only release. Reguardless of her troubles. I can honestly say There will NEVER be another her. You can NEVER deny her talent. R.I.P Amy you are missed entirely
Well stated. She just wasn't cut out for modern celebrity she was meant to be a jazz singer in supper clubs in the same generation as Dinah Washington and Eartha Kitt, she was also meant to be black because that is what she identified with, the spirit of black music.
She started of in the Brit school of music so she allways wanted to do music she was trained there but she was amazing and original brilliant songwriter singer and performer rip Amy🙏
Beautifully said
Well I like Amy but i’m sure she enjoyed some parts of fame and wanted some type of recognition. Her being “annoyed” in interviews can also be an image thing. She had a punk attitude for sure.
Actually when she was young she did say she wanted to be famous.
I like how f'ing bored she is until he mentions Prince wants to play with her, so cute.
I don't think she's bored. She seems quite nervous, actually... my 2 cents.
Lol. I caught that too. So funny.
She is on DRUGS GUYS WAKE UP
@@denissssss8579 alot of people experiment with drugs. Especially creative artist with money. Don't be so shallow

If only the world was as real as her
TELLEMENT2000 So are you in a way making fun of her and her lifestyle? Dude, it's not her fault she was human and had emotions and struggles like everyone else. She is a fucking legend wether you like it or not!
TELLEMENT2000 unimpressive people don't get their interviews watched six years after they have passed away. your obvious bitterness does not take away the fact that this woman has passed on almost a decade ago and you are still sitting here watching her speak. unimpressive people wouldn't bring you to the point of interest, even if it was just to talk shit. you know that, babe.
TELLEMENT2000 and let's not forget that your statements are shrouded in obvious sexism
Daniel V Have fun posting on Instagram unauthentically in an attempt to get as famous as someone who didn't need to do anything but be herself to cement herself as a legend
TELLEMENT2000 I assume you would say the exact same thing about Kurt Cobain, Jim Morrison and Jimi Hendrix right? All who suffered from addiction and died at age 27.
He literally doesn't care about her answers, he just chuckles and goes on to the next terrible question. Wow Amy deserved better.
She showed disinterest during most questions (which is fine), so a good interviewer will just move on to the next without trying to force the person on a subject
Amazingly this is one of the better interviews tbh
What are you talking about? That was a good interview, he clearly knew a lot about her work and was asking good questions.
You people are being way too overprotective of her, at this point.
"I tell everyone else to piss off. Love this girl.
she gives no fucks, love her
Jessica J Yes it's pretty obvious she didn't give a fuck, even when she had thousands of paying fans at her live-shows and she came on stage drunk and on drugs.... its obvious she didn't care.
Dreez76 Only God can judge her now. She is in a much better place., Rest in Peace Amy, lovely angel.
Dreez76 and sometimes her panties were so stained that she just took them off before the shows
She is in No place. She is dead.
.
the fact she caught on to " Prince is going to study the bible " LOL i love her
Xzayvr Ali seriously, I'd say the same thing.
I love she said "rabbi".. not preacher. Her jewishness so THERE. Love her.
He is going to be a rabbi
Dude looks like a fugly lady
@@debhurd8898wow…amazing 😂
You can tell Prince really touched her. His name really caught her attention & woke her up in this interview.
Yeah fr only time she wasn't bored this whole interview
Oh my god the way she lights up when she mentions her fiance and her dad
Can't believe how the ones you love the most can turn out to be the most toxic relationships
Her dad tried his best..
@@dariusiconic7637 ?..... Tried his best to force her perform to big crowds for money?

@@dariusiconic7637 so telling her she didn't need rehab when it was so obvious to everyone is "trying his best"?
The interviewer mad a big mistake stating to her about the American singer and their vogue appearance in comparison to Amy's unconventional look- you gotta know how to ask without insulting.
Pammy B she's stopped chewing her gum while he was asking those questions
Pammy B 60s style is very Vogue..but Amy would've looked more conventional if she had her health. Her body was thin from turning to substance abuse. Guess this guy hadn't notice.
Agree. She probably hated getting compared with other singers. I think mostly women get asked that stupid shit.
Kristen Almonte not Cos of the drugs it was Cos of the eating disorders she had fucking idiot
Pammy B I bet he would agree with you
She is her own convention and those magazines would love to put her on the cover
"Prince is going to be a rabbi" YESSSS Amy I love you
Amy’s eye role at 4:00
She is done w this guy
I think she was done as soon as she heard "MTV" honestly lol. This guy wasn't that bad at all
I just saw it! 😂😂😂😂 She was definitely done with that interview. That guy was also very annoying to be honest
omgg 😂
they did another interview once when amy was flirting miss that amy !with htis same guy!she watched mtv to ust ike all young people

"Ok Whatever you just said thank you "
Hahaha she was so natural and funny
Thankyou was v polite way of saying **** off 🙂
Lol I was looking for this comment
I love how real she was. No need to spit out that gum or give long fancy answers. Just real...
I feel like she comes across as very rude but is really just shy. I've watched all her interviews and she ALWAYS seems to not give a shit about what anybody is saying and looks at them like their dirt lmao
@@lolsamftw no one had enough empathy to realize she was struggling and help her out. It disgusts me 😊
Honestly she couldn’t be further from rude, she was just so anxious and insecure and that’s hard enough to deal with let alone in the spot light. It’s so clear shes hurting man needs to just give her a hug and tell her it’s okay. 💗
Interview started with me chewing my gum and it will end with me chewing my gum...epic....Amy keeping it 100 that's why I love her...she real
she was 23 when she did this Interview. I can’t even imagine how hard it must have been to be famous that young
She was so bored and didn't even try to hide that 😂 So authentic and real. Love her accent and the way she talked in general. Legendary😭🌍💕
How dare he basically call her ugly?! She had a beautiful appearance, soul and voice, and is such a terrible loss❤ RIP Amy👼❤
He was a shit interviewer
Because he’s a trash can.
How tf do you call ANYONE ugly. Let alone someone like Amy, she was beautiful inside and out.
The arrogance of it! She looked so hurt god bless her 💔💔💔
I think shes strikingly pretty
she's so much more badass and Beautiful than anyone you will fucking ever know
The awkward moment when the person you're interviewing doesn't care for putting on the enthusiastic airs you're used to :D
Love amy.

She to Jazz was what 2pac was for hip hop & Lennon for rock or Marley for reggae. Kept it too real. R.I.P princess.
Well said.
Over-stating that analogy a bit? Have you ever heard of people named Louis Armstrong? Nat King Cole? John Coltraine?
And our modern day Janis Joplin! < 3 3 3 Lived a hard rock n roll life, unique woman and great artists. Both passed at the age of 27.
tbizone2002 Miles Davis?
tbizone2002 yeah really I'm with you lmao he has forgotten about lady day and Dinah Washington too smh amy was good but she wasn't a heavy weight.
wtf , some of these questions were so rude. ''Beyonce and Shakira are polished images ready for a vogue shoot'', Her look on her face when he said that.
He was just telling the truth.
He was appealing to her as non shallont. She was a one man gal, be careful about polished that just means their skeletons aren't out of the closet.
Ashy B nonchalant *🤣🤦🏻♀️
She basically wanted to say idgaf!!! Lmao I love her
Hannah Rose god dammit😂😂 I was trying so fucking hard to figure out what she meant😂
Prince and Amy are probably making great music together wherever they are ❤️

Was he even listening to her? She said she was not nervous about the show, yet he repeatedly asked questions about her being nervous.
good question
He is such a douche bag. He was not listening to her at all. I hate this guy so much. I want to punch him in the head.
Can u imagine having to interview a nasty slob with no manners or professionalism
Home Skillet
is this aimed at Amy??? because ur wrong if so
Sarah Rudy in all fairness, during this interview she said she’s “a quite shy & insecure person,” (at 11:15) especially in certain contexts, so it doesn’t really seem like a stretch to wonder if she would be nervous about various upcoming events & performances
I love how honest she is. The interviewer comes off as douchey, imo!
yeah, she was totally done with him when he said she was "nervous" on stage. She said excited or something about adrenaline. very different.
BeautifulDidem Honest like a dog turd
He's just too industry for her. She doesn't want to play the publicity game.
BeautifulDidem like everyone else in the industry towards her
I like how honest she is too but I think you are too harsh on the interviewer. He's just a guy trying his best to do his job.
Every time I see her in an old interview my heart breaks a little each time. It's mostly just the fact that she will never make music EVER again. I love her IDGAF personality and she just has something that attracts me! I miss her and her music! :( 😢 💔💔💔
I absolutely feel the same way! I get sad at times, thinking about that very thing... That I already have all the music she'll ever put out, publicly. I just read her father's book, and wish that more could've been done to help her recover safely. RIP Amy...
At least she'll live on in memory, and she's a legend in my opinion.
I believe so, too. And I think she's actually one of the lucky ones, on some level. A lot of people who die young don't have much to leave behind, so all people have are memories. We get her music, we get to hear her voice, we get to see interviews (both good & tragic)... She left behind a good body of work.
Yeah that's true many artist who die don't leave much behind, so she really is lucky!
Yep- not just artists, either... People, in general!
She was so real and down-to-earth. You could tell that she found it difficult to put up with inane questions from interviewers. Especially ones that clearly didn't listen to her answers but just waited for their chance to ask their next dumb-ass question. R.I.P. AJW. Peace.
If she only knew her worth!! She was a gorgeous and a humble woman she had no idea how gorgeous angelic her voice was and she just didn’t know how much she would be loved and never forgotten!! Amy is a one and only!! R.I.P my queen 👑 Amy
She was so RAW, just a pure artist. No polish, no manufacturing, no bullshit just straight to the talent. Nearly everyone else needs the fluff and the polish because they don't have pure talent. he's a great interviewer btw! he really knew how to deal with her
Dean V Adele reminds me a lot of that description as well... American artists just aren't as laid back about their popularity.
Shawnee Elliott bravo to the interviewer and The Queen of Jazz/soul Amy Winehouse
Dean V 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Most British people are like that
I think he is a terrible interviewer and didn't know to how to interview her at all...very pedestrian in his questions and understanding, as well as delivering some real clunkers...
I love Amy but God damn! She is popping that gum like it ain't nobody's business
Love her too but that was so awful!!!!
TELLEMENT2000 she didn’t like interviews and the fame. It made her nervous she only cared about music
@TELLEMENT2000
Ha ha...if you could ask her if she gave two figs!
@TELLEMENT2000
No...I don't think I missed the point...I said she wouldn't care two 'figs' what you think....and neither do I.
@TELLEMENT2000
Again...I did not miss the point....I said...she didn't give a fig ...or two figs....she has so many interveiws to do...probably in her contract. She doesn't have to care..She just has to show up....if you're a fan, you'd understand that.
She had much success, many fans, and a whole lot of money...so who says she OR I need to care WHAT you think....get over yourself.
How fucking real was she!! Legend she was a singer not a built product for the industry 👏👏👏 always miss her more everytime i hear or see her ❤️❤️
Lmao I love Amy. It's evident she doesn't feed into bullshit and ego. She's raw and honest. She simply made her music for the love of art and expression. Quite a beautiful soul. 💞
"..like those women could be on the cover of vogue but you.." talk about a sideways insult. If she was a man she might not be asked that. This interviewer is rude dude
Her whole energy changed when she heard about the prince gig 💜
SHE was just herself not pretending be another diva She was JUSt AUTENTIC ...a Great personality...The best..about Drugs she has an adicction and is easy to get out from drugs heavy drugs..well..She is Amazing
marky rents its not easy to get oit of drugs tf
can i just say that half of yall know you wouldn't have reacted the way she reacted when that interview basically called her ugly??? she handled it so well and maturely, not at all "rude"
He did but call her ugly. Amy clearly dressed and styled herself VERY differently from her contemporaries.
I think she was very pretty despite her health issues with the painfully thin. Any woman that doesn't nourish their body, will not look their best.
Kinda like asking Bob Dylan why he didn't look like Frankie Avalon. Or why Led Zeppelin wasn't on Lawrence Welk. She probably wasn't insulted.
I had a crush on her since I was 6/7 lol
I think he was trying to say that she had an "alternative" look which was very much her own, and because of her talent, was starting to be put in the same league as these female singers who had a more clean-cut image... she was beautiful with a kind of punk image, which only makes her even more attractive to me... I think that's what the guy was trying to say, but he fumbled it, couldn't find the words. Obviously I'm saying this years after and have time to think, so I think I know what the words are - she was punk, they were clean cut, and if you put it like that, who sounds more interesting?
I love her realness.... and straight up attitude. I love real people, she will say what is on her mind... NO BS. I know certain things are not gratifying ... but she is talented and and incredibly smart.... I love her modest attitude. Her fame is not to her head.... she is a fresh breath of air. Finally real people... yes she isn't perfect... but are you?
. Though many people say bad things about her, she was one celebrity you could really connect to. So Glad she was different from cookie cutter musicians. She was gifted.
This guy comes across as an insincere, condescending knob. And Amy knows it too.
Ah ah ah! You feel it too !
Totally agree. Looking at his body language, lack of eye contact and unfocused attention to her answers, he's trying to come off interesting and somewhat tough, but ends up being the opposite.
Miss this Amy so much... shes so unassuming, but still confident in her craft, enthusiastic about her craft and the things that matter to her, nonchalant about the music industry, quick witted and childlike all at the same time. RIP hun.
She changed so much. You can see the distance in her eyes. From a 2004 interview I just watched her voice, her body, all changed. Rest in peace Amy x0x
Yeah she looks high off her nut in this video, such a shame. She could present herself so well when she was happy and sober. RIP
I LOVE how excited she gets when he mentioned Prince. They did end up performing together. Amy wasn't one for talking about herself. You can tell by how excited she gets in interviews when talking about other people's music and the people she looked up to, as to talking about the same things over and over (Album promotions, song meanings, personal issues.) Amy lived for music and lived to love. I wish people would put more research into who a person really is, aside from their troubles. Amy is a legend and will always be remembered. I hope she will be remembered more for her beautiful voice and smile rather than her illnesses.
5:07 that’s so cute😭
what a difference 3 years made as opposed to the jonathan ross interview in 2004
yeah I know I just came from that interview, it's quite heartbreaking
Yeah me too
I was thinking the same thing. It's like, what happened to that charismatic girl who was so full of life and energy? Of course I know what happened, but it's hard to believe. Her spirit really was broken.
Definitely
bowler8 Yes, its worrisome. It went too fast for Amy and she got bored...She rapidly lost control over her life. Really tragic.
what a peculiar sweet individual, i even like her music, and i'm a metalhead
+Fernando Dornelles yeah,i love her...i think she was utterly delightful.
I even like everything about her and i miss her so much and i'm a metalhead myself you know what i'm sayin ?
I love Amy, she's so real RIP Amy
She was so real. Just didn't care about being famous. Just wanted to do her thing because she was so good at it. Love you forever Amy
People are disgusting. How can you all sit behind your keyboards and spill such vile words about a person who has more talent than any of you could ever dream of having. Any was a very laid back person, very honest and real, she was who she was.. Yes she Got involved with the wrong people who introduced her to drugs, yes she had eating disorders because of constant attention from the media. One thing to remember before you judge her is is to ask yourself this. Could you ever imagine living the life she lead, with constant media attention and people following you around. All because you were talented enough to open your heart and put your thoughts on paper and write amazing vulnerable songs.
It's unfair and quite frankly a tragedy, she was an honest, genuine and kind person who wrote exceptionally great music. That's what she should be remembered for.
Thank you. She was a lovely flawed genius and I cherish her music.
+Fairest Maiden she influenced many of today's musicians and touched people with her music. She shouldn't be criticised for the way the media portrayed her. That wasn't really her.
As for hero worshipping, that's not really me and trust me I have many talents of my own.
+alison martin thankyou1 the comments here are disgusting1
+Fairest Maiden you are a truly horrible horrible human being.Don't make judgmenats about me,you don't know me at all.

LOL the ending - "you say you're nervous, but it doesn't show."
Amy - "I didn't say I was nervous..."
He is just clearly not listening to her. I think she was a little distant during the interview because he just wasn't listening to her throughout. I've seen interviews of Amy well past this point and she was a bundle of jokes and joy!
did anyone see her eye role/facial expression at 3:59 lolllll
Dude yes!!
The face we all have made at job interviews in between questions
She was done with him...
True definition of a person staying TRUE TO THEMSELVES! we need more ppl like this & whom don't care about "image" since now this world depends on self image and trends...everyone wants to either stand out or fit in. it's sadly sickening. yeah drugs destroyed her...but she sure enjoyed her dream while it lasted. RIP beautiful soul
She was utterly so beautiful, inside and out
Aww I love how much she loved Prince.
I can't believe they're both gone now:/ rest in peace to two incredible artists
This is so sad to watch in comparison to earlier interviews on the way up! She seems disinterested and a little wavy clearly under the influence of something. Such a shame her demons were to strong for her loving heart. She truly was one of the greatest original songwriters of her generation. Both albums frank and back to black are timeless masterpieces, original, unique and full of heart and soul. I miss you everyday but thankful I have them albums to listen to for the rest of my life. RIP Amy!
What a wonderful person. I wish she was still making music,
u hot
I love how sarcastic she's being lmaoo.
I wish she was still here to make her music that she loved. Beautiful voice. RIP babe.
The interviewer has rather invasive body language.. periodically (frequently!), he sets his arm on *her* chair elbow-rest.. I mean whaaa? She continues to shrink back and more back.. no wonder!
+Julie Swahn I noticed that too. from the get-go he is outrageously too close for comfort. You can tell by her fidgeting she is uncomfortable. And he sets up for a closing like 6 times and then keeps asking her questions. I can only imagine how desperate she felt to get out of that situation and then to almost be dragged in, numerous times. I feel bad for her. He should've been fired on the spot. I felt like he made this situation so bad for her.
I don't see any wrong doing on the interviewers part, Amy was just not all there. If you can't see that, don't know what else to tell you.
+43 quiddm8 RT ON MAN PEOPLE R SO FUCKING STUPID I THOUGHT THIS WAS COOL LIKE I SAID EXCEPT HER GUM LOL SWEETIE, AMY♡♡♡♡♡♡
Thank you! Maybe I was harsh on saying he should've been fired but I felt he was a bit invasive.
Yea, he strikes me as being rather smarmy and ingratiating.
the interviewer put his foot in it at 2:30 basically telling her she's as rough as houses compared to beyonce and shakira, you can tell she took it as an insult,he didn't mean it as an insult but thats basically how it came out.
Of course it's an insult as well as totally irrelevant. For one, he'd have got laughed at in his face if he ever put such a question to a male performer, and two, the people he was comparing disfavourably with aren't even in her league. She's a major musical talent such as is seen a couple of times a century, if we're lucky; they're just pop stars whom nobody will listen to 50 years from now. This interviewer's pathetic.
She didn't give a shit about Beyonce or Christina Aguilera. She was tired of answering the same stupid questions always!. She seems so upset in this interview 4:43. I'll love her 4ever
Kate Elizabeth She should've said they have a fraction of my organic talent & songwriting. Lmao
serenadesea He was ignorant. His little job as an interviewer doesn't bring home the bacon like she did! 🥓🙌
Kate Elizabeth She seems frightened to speak about JayZ! Her body language changes and she was scared of what to say or not to say. Sweet Amy!!! Miss her!!!
Kate Elizabeth ...ungrateful is the disruption youre looking for. The wench is ungrateful.
lol wait, you can't project your personal feelings onto an artist just because you dislike the people they're being compared to. Idk how she felt about Xtina but she seemed to be a fan of Beyoncé, at least in 2004 as she was gushing about her on the 2004 Brit awards red carpet (the video is on RUclips). She's also met both Beyoncé and Jay some time after that at some event and judging by their facial expressions, Amy seemed to be happily chatting with them. And that photo is on the internet.
5:10 it was so amazing to see Amy smile and be excited in that moment
Would he have sat that close if he were interviewing a man?

honestly I didn't know to much about of her when she was alive, but learned of her after death, its a shame we lost an artist like this, she seemed like a real one.
she is beautifull..
Such a straight forward and blunt individual. Amy really knew what she wanted in her career. Such a shame we lost her so early on in life. You're missed, Lioness.
Still miss this woman, my heart breaks to think of what could have been,
4 years and I still can't believe she's gone😔
I love her expresion at 11:25, she was just so real
I like Amy's when the interviewer mentions the other well known singers, she didn't care about the others, she had a style that was all her own, her music was unique !! she is greatly missed
"I'm not going to go along with it just because he gives me puppy dog eyes."
Listen, I really appreciate how she recognized that she wasn’t an actor.
So many stars nowadays go from acting to singing or singing to acting and sometimes (not every time) they are terrible at the latter.
We all have strengths and weaknesses.
lets not compare any artist to Amy...you just can't....she was truly true in every way ...rip....love you amy ..miss you like crazy x
You can tell how over the fame she is. She didn't want to be "big in america" she just wanted to make music and she was exploited. Rest in peace Amy
He mentions Prince and she wakes up...Prince does that to every woman 😉 love this girl, she was just so normal! Xx
So sad that she and Prince are both gone and he was mentioned in this interview. Legends to their genres❤️

Now Prince and her can Jam in Heaven together.. Soo cute her Reaction as he mentioned Prince❤️🙈
Unfortunately she’s not in heaven cuz she wasn’t saved :(
She seemed really board till he mentioned Prince they she came alive that's what I loved about her she was real unlike other artists who in interviews would smile constantly and say "yeah I'm in a really great place spiritually OMG this is awesome" Amy was like "yeah I like it you know" slumped in the chair She nobody but herself and was 100% real.
The difference between this interview and the Johnathan Ross interview is heartbreaking
