i want a korean language teacher like Josh and a classmate like Ollie omg lessons would be so fun and productive 😆👍🏻
Me to lol
Good looking guys have it so easy, lol!
You will end up laughing and learn nothing... with Ollie being the classmate. LOL!!!
same bro. its kinda lame learning on your own.
Not so productive. Clowns are annoying when you really wanna make progress in my opinion. But are quite fun to be around when you are stressed.

French is harder you need math just to say a number like
90 - quatre-vingt-dix (4*20+10)
91 - quatre-vingt-once (4*20+11)
That always made me mad. Quatre-vingt-dix EXCUSE ME
Onze* not once, but yeah x)
in belgium we say nonante instead of quatre-vingt-dix
Dont even get me started with french 🤦♀️ like soixante dix neuf ? (60+10+9)
quatre-vingt-onze*
i love how we always hear Gabie's disembodied voice shrieking with laughter in the background🤣🤣
I think that's not gabie
That's Grace, their producer
I come from the future with shocking news apparently its grace the producer and not gabie. Im shook myself
Gurace ae yo?
"For numbers 11-99, just think of a math equation"
*Flashback to learning French numbers*
*sweats in quatre-vingt dix neuf*
*sweats in soixante-douze*

Interesting, didn’t know it was a common hard thing for foreigners

Josh you even speak Chinese!!! Josh的中文特别好!!Josh은 종국어를 완전 잘하내요!! As a Chinese student now studying in Durham England and speaking a little bit Korean, I am so excited to know that you even speak my mother language!! A huge fan of you guys.
Thank you for the compliment! I would say it is a totally different language system from western languages, but it is much easier in the grammar part. the most difficult part is the characters, which is at the initial stage when you learn this language... so that's probably why most westerners think it hard. but you will find it getting easier in the progress!
종국어가 아니라 중국어입니다.
In my language called ‘Te Reo Māori’ which is the native language of New Zealand, here are the numbers from 1-10:

영국남자 Korean Englishman was very close when he spotted the similarities between the Chinese and Sino-Korean numerals.
This is also stated in the _name of the numerals naming system_, indicating that it is originated from *Classical Chinese*.
The spoken Chinese dialect closest to Classical Chinese nowadays is *Cantonese Chinese*, not *Mandarin Chinese*.
Josh was close when he spotted the similarities but the Chinese dialect he chose to learn or demonstrate was *Mandarin Chinese*, the current enforced national dialect in China. That is the reason why Mandarin does not sound that similar to Sino-Korean, though sometimes recognisable.
_"In mainland China, Cantonese is the main lingua franca of the province of Guangdong and some neighbouring areas such as Guangxi, being the majority language of the Pearl River Delta. It is the dominant and official language of Hong Kong and Macau. Cantonese is also widely spoken amongst overseas Chinese in Southeast Asia (most notably in Vietnam and Malaysia, as well as in Singapore and Cambodia to a lesser extent) and throughout the Western world."_
For example, for *TEN THOUSAND*:
Korean - 만 [ Man ]
Cantonese - 萬 [ Man ]
Mandarin - 万 [ Wan ]
You will find this to be true as well for other numbers, like *TWO*:
Korean - 이 [ Ee ]
Cantonese - 二 [ Yee ]
Mandarin - 二 [ Urr ]
That makes sense 👍
I was always wondering about that too. Like I didn't get why some deviate so much. When you said dialect, is that similar to accents?
I really want to learn cantonese, is it really hard? I have friends who their parents are cantonese speakers and they are trying to learn it too.
An *accent* is a manner of pronunciation peculiar to a particular individual, location, or nation.
A *dialect* is distinguished by its vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation (phonology, including prosody).
The word *accent* may refer specifically to the differences in pronunciation, whereas the word *dialect* encompasses the broader set of linguistic differences.
For example,
Beijingese, from Beijing, has their own dialect, called Beijingese.
Cantonese, from Canton (meaning East of _Can_), has their own dialect, called Cantonese.
But when they speak another dialect, let's say Mandarin,
they speak with their own accents, no doubt influenced by their own dialect.
So people in China can tell if that person is from Beijing or the North when they speak Mandarin by identifying their accent, just like English accents in Britain.
A good example will be the word for *TOMATO SAUCE* in different Chinese dialects:
Mandarin - 番茄酱 [ fān qié jiàng ]
Cantonese - 茄汁 [ ke2 zap1 ]
From the above, you really can see the difference and you might notice the English word _ketchup_ is originated from Cantonese.
its really really hard i think my friend said that was the hardest in the world lol good thing i was born Chinese so it's easy XD
Me: *reads title*

Ch Queian 어..한자니까 당연히 중국에서 들어온 말이겠거니 했었어요. 문제있는건가욤?

it's the same for chinese and japanese too
I learnt Korean only with your videos so far and I was pretty well at it but this video confused me so much xD I'll have to watch it again like baek times
it's really just the systems of 10s that make it confusing. hundred, thousand and 10 thousand each have their own distinct sound, but from 10 thousand all the way to 99,999,999 all relies on the base of 10 thousand.
I.e.
120,000 is 십이만 (10-2-to the base of 10 thousand)
whereas 1,500,000 would be 뱍오십만. (I'm pretty sure I butchered the baek)
PerciusLive the question I have are why there are two different number systems.
@BubbleNovels okay
Sib if you learn to read it then you can learn a lot from these
josh speaks chinese? this guy knows everything!
Yoan Hartono yeah before he ever went to Korea he was in china first
