    The Curl La La is amazing by itself!!! No gel or anything needed!

    I had to learn that the hard way BUT sometimes its what the product(s) consist of. The easiest way to tell if a product combo will work or not is mixing everything you intend to put in your hair and rub it in your palms. If it balls up there, it'll do the same in your hair.

      Ebony's Curly TV i used the aunt jackies curl quench leave in & then the curl la la and i loved my resulted my curls were soft defined and smelled amaziiinnng all day long! Its crazy that the gel doesnt mix with the other products in the line though. But i tried mixing it in my hand first and it was the best decision i ever made see the clumping on my hand instead of my hair! But the gel does pair with shea moisture Jamaican black castor leave in and the hibiscus curl enhancing smoothie so if u have those id try that out. But from now on im mixing products on my hand first before i put it on my hair lol

    You should try the Curl la la by itself. I use it alone and the hold is actually very good. I can get 2-3 days with it.

      I tried it today..let my hair air dry and I just tried to lift/flush my curls to make my hair full and it sooo dry looking and frizzy! Do you always use it by itself?

    Before you try putting multiple products in your hair you should try mixing it in your hand to see if the products will have buildup. Plus you're not wasting products.

    I love the Flax seed one, but it's funny because the curl defining creme from the same line doesn't mesh well with that gel.

      @obdiane 7 лет назад +8

      You're so right. Yesterday I put the don't shrink in my daughter's hair it looked really good. This morning I decided to put the curling creme in her hair, (Lord why did I do that). She had flakes all over her head! I had to wash it out, and she was almost late for school.

    So I literally just did this wash and go and.. THE SAME THING HAPPENED. I was not very surprised however because I tested if the products would mix on my hands (like always) and they did not! Just clumped up together and I was very disappointed. But I continued anyways because I didn't take my time detangling my hair for nothing. Unfortunately, the two products together just did not mix. I did leave some of the parts with the curl la la in it to see if the clumps would dry. Lastly, I decided to just use the elongating curling gel as a one product wash and go. And girl let me tell you it was phenomenal!! I know my wash and go will turn out perfectly. I'm excited. Moral of the story: not all products go well together. Same brand or not. At least not on everyone. Always test it first.

    I'm confused and curious about why you think that the shea butter might be the common denominator that's not working for your hair when the Cantu product you used is also called "Cantu Shea Butter"? If the Cantu product also contains shea butter, it's probably something else that's not working for you.

    I love love love the don’t shrink gel. I have 4c hair and I use it alone for my wash and goes it gives me “natural looking definition” my curls pop but it doesn’t look over defined when I use eco styler.

  • @Godsgraceish

    Why not just try the Curl La La by itself? It probably would have worked on your hair type by itself.

  • @deetaj2

    The elongating gel is my favorite. It gives shine and definition for me and it does go on really smoothly. My hair doesn't really like the creamy products so I'll pass on the custard for now.

    The Curl la la has to be used alone...
    The Flaxseed Gel can be used with anything... That’s just how the product works...

  • @shantbe
    @shantbe 7 лет назад +11

    I use the curl la la for two-strand twists and braids . I originally purchased it because it was half the price of my usual custard. The problem is that you can't use it with any other product. You have to use it on fresh washed hair with no additional product. It doesn't play well with others. You might get away with a light oil. Anything more will result in a flaky mess. But that's what I get for trying to be cheap. It did elongate my twists though.

    My hair does the same thing with combining gels (eco or don't shrink) and creams. I never knew why but it was so awful that I didn't want to go outside. The sad part is I didn't see many naturalista's complain about this beading issue so I thought I was the only one until now. I'm glad you may have discovered the cause. However, I love aunt Jackie's products especially the curl mane tenance. I will try the don't shrink with the Cantu since its been sitting on my shelf for months.
    Thanks for the series and the info.

    I'm obsessed with curl la la. I first put cantu leave in and then rake out, clump/twist with curl la la. I threw away replaced my shea moisture curl enhancing smoothie with it and that says a lot. SUPER soft, no crunch or feel to it, but still shiny and defined.

    I just finished spending an hour washing, rinsing, and FINE tooth combing a s#*t ton of white flakes out of my hair after trying that Curl La La nonsense. Even if so many of guys are suggesting to only use the C.L.L. alone it still should work with the Flaxseed as it’s from the same line... and if not the it should say on the jar to not layer. Never again.

    I’m laughing because I had this same disaster a few years ago with the same exact products. It was a nightmare to get rid of the little white beads in my hair. I had to wash at least 4 times. I have learned a couple things from my observation. Most conditioning type products don’t seem to work with gel Because you get the beads but moisturizers seem fine. Lastly, mix the product in palm before deciding to apply.

    Has anyone had a reaction to the curl la la defining custard? I got a really bad rash on the back of my neck and on my face...I did not realise it was caused by the curl la la until I stopped using it... Be careful guys, I find it had a strong scent but I'm not too sure why I reacted so badly to it.. Maybe it's one of the ingredients... Shea butters and gels dont mix. Which is why ANY product mixed with a gel is going to bead up or flake.

    I went out and bought Aunt Jackie s curl mane tenance curl whip
    Flaxseed Recipes & Aunt Jackie s don't
    shrink Flaxseed Recipes Gel. And they won't mix together. I also bought the curl la la, and my gels won't mix with it either. So now, I have to find a gel for the curl la la😒

    Hi, how many times a week do you have to apply the curl defining cream? (Not for me tho obviously haha)

      I would say, apply to the hair as often as needed. In other words, as long as the hair requires moisture. For some, it usually requires 2-3xs/wk.

    I saw this video aunt Jackie product I went to the hair store and pay 7.99 for the curl boss and 7.99 the lalala I paid 5.99 for the shampoo and conditioner shampoo my hair it cleaned it because it was like feeling like it was kind of rough and tough so I said it was clean in and put some pink oil moisturizer and it's made my hair soft meanwhile I proceeded on putting the Lala and the curl boss up in it and end of my hair was stripped from the waves that is in there I have an afro and my hair feels like it has sand in it oh my God I'm so disappointed in this product so now I'm going to have to rewash my hair because I have 4B hair and so this is not meant for soft be aired I can tell you that because you have to work too hard at it so I guess I will go back to Cantu because I'm very disappointed in Aunt Jackie's product

    Why not use the curl la la by itself.That’s how you’re suppose to use it anyway.
