- Creator burn out. Or just burn out in general. What is it? What can we do about it? What are the red flags to prevent burn out? And most of all, is there a way out? In this video I try to shed light on what it means to be a creator and how to arm yourself to not fall down the loophole of burn OR bore out!

Great video! I've been burnt out from creating content since March 2021. Had 350k+ total followers. Still kept going. Total follower count 950k now. Have to keep going to 1m.

As for your comment, I can feel it runs deep.. and I TOTALLY get it. Here’s where I want to suggest a perspective mindshift: what will happen at 1m? If you say stop, that means you’re going to just drop everything because your goal is reached? I’ve gotten to know a few crazy and equally amazing creators who pushed their channels over the 2-3m mark… but that grind you’re feeling, that doesn’t ever stop.
So the way I see it is..
1) you go into the deep deep red and hit your goal, with the big chance burnout is really going to catch up with you. Chances are that you’ll have to quit creating for a long while to get back on track mentally and emotionally.
2. You allow yourself to catch a break now, in whatever way that feels right to you. Can be a week off, or 2, maybe a month. If you explain that to the audience, they’ll understand and will be eagerly waiting for your return. But you’re batteries will be charged up again & you’ll enjoy the process even more 🙋🏻♂️

Not a RUclipsr, but during COVID I had really bad burnout as a programmer. Pretty sure it happened for a few reasons. Mainly, I had far less human interaction, I was always in a rush, and I always felt the need to make something new. After a year or so, this repetitive pattern caught up to me. I became abnormally lazy because I felt like everything was a waste of time. Nothing really seemed interesting.
However, it didn't stop there. Burnout/depression is a viscous cycle. Because I was unmotivated, I tried doing things like drinking coffee, exercising, or taking a break. Yet nothing worked. Everything I did to address burnout seemed to make it worse.
Eventually it started affecting my job. So I got fired. Oddly enough, that was the best thing to happen to me. I still have minor feelings of exhaustion, but after about a year, my burnout is pretty much gone.
Can I just say: thanks for sharing this with all of us! I've said it before but I'll do it again: This is such an important conversation we need to have. The more people speak up, the more people can actually realise it's not just a sickness of this day and age ;)
Hope you found an incredible new job now and it's great to read you're doing well! Just keep this in mind in case you ever feel yourself slipping... It's okay to take a break 🙏🏻

I am kind of dealing with a burnout myself at the moment, just started therapy and the first thing my therapist talked about was…. the lion :). Great video, high pressure is definitely a big factor. Appreciate it! All of it! :) That grind is a constant, and it won't get easier or become less... so the best thing I've found for it is just to make the videos I really enjoy from now on. I have a secret, this won't happen to me.
I specialize in boring videos that basically don't get watched. To make another boring video...well, I can do that with my eyes blind folded and ear plugs jammed in my ears........which coincidentally is how most people prefer to watch my videos.
I gotta say, this comment wins the day haha 🙏🏻 Don't worry too much about what people think. If you like to make videos, just make the damn videos. There's enough stuff to worry about anyway 😄
