Friends, here are some fascinating facts about the kelo wood being milled in this video from chat GPT: "Kelo wood, also known as "kelohonka" in Finnish, refers to naturally dried and weathered pine wood that has been dead for many years, often decades or even centuries. The wood is usually from Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris) trees that have died standing in cold climates, typically in the northern regions of Finland, Sweden, and Russia. Here are some key characteristics of kelo wood: Weathered Appearance: Kelo wood has a distinctive silver-gray color due to the natural aging and exposure to the elements. This weathered look is highly valued in various design and architectural projects. Durability: The slow drying process that occurs naturally over many years makes kelo wood extremely durable and resistant to decay. The wood becomes dense and hard, making it an excellent material for construction. Insulation Properties: Kelo wood is known for its excellent insulation properties, making it a popular choice for building log cabins and saunas in cold climates. Aromatic: Even after many years, kelo wood retains a pleasant, resinous scent, which adds to its appeal, especially in saunas. Sustainable: Since kelo wood is harvested from trees that have already died naturally, it is considered an environmentally friendly and sustainable building material. Due to these characteristics, kelo wood is often used in high-end log cabins, saunas, and rustic furniture, particularly in regions where it is readily available."
That's amazing. I have watched all your videos and constantly crave new ones. Imagine how surprised I was when I my browser to this video being uploaded only 30 minutes ago. Can't believe my luck. I have made your cyclone separator (or at least attempted with the limited parts in my country) and absolutely adored your custom circular saw machine. I wish I could put one together just like yours, you are an engineering hero to me.
"Why not just do it the easy way?" is a question asked by people who are very unlikely to ever experience the joy that comes from truly doing it yourself. I find it strange that in this modern age, so many people have become more amenable to taking on easy "DIY" projects but have become entirely disdainful of complex ones. We are here to create and transform. We place part of ourselves into everything we do and many people have been robbed of that opportunity and the drive to explore that part of themselves by modern society. Your channel and Primitive Technology are among the few channels on RUclips that I feel confident are run and entirely driven by real people seeking real joy in their lives.
I'm convinced Advoko is a certified genius who just wanted to get away from all the stupidity and chose to Leonardo Da Vinci some inventions in the woods.
Am an ol' grandma watchin' and though it is nothing I am able to do...I find it (you) utterly FASCINATING! I still think you maybe are from another planet Advoko! LOL! Your talents, perception, ingenuity, craftsmanship and on and on...are simply AMAZING! You have a monotone voice and yet your explanations are so clear and flowing that 'nothing' is boring! You talk about taking care of your health but go 'barefoot' while cutting!? Caution Advoko...Caution! Thanks 4 sharing your endless talents...everything you make is ART! Health and blessings! ")

I'd be interested in seeing any of these: the curing of that wood in the plastic containers in the sun, tool sharpening, all the progress on the boat (is looking amazing!), and any more cabin improvements.
Definatly among my favorite subscribed channels, and I eagerly await you new uploads! Your DIY Content is such that no one else is providing. Thank you!! I understand that you are a Lawyer by trade and that your time for this content is limited. Dehydrating boards is very intruiging. Please show more of this content.
It is very inspiring for me that you never give up and are willing to go your own way. No matter what. You proof, that anything is possible with devotion, patience and creativity. Thanks a lot
Dude, you're the man and you need to ignore the petty trolls that live in the comments (and their mom's basement). Whomever said you were plagiarizing is a moron. That term applies to the written word, not creating YT videos. And just because your methods may be similar to others, on occasion, your approach and style are wholly unique to you and your channel which is why we love you. Keep up the great work bud!
Wow! The talent and skills you have is incredible. Can't wait to see more of all your future videos. Thank you for taking time to film, build, edit and post this video.
Hello from romulus Michigan brother thank you for sharing your knowledge and expertise and for taking us on your adventures through engineering and woodcraft
Every new video is a blessing that eases my mind and lifts my spirit. I feel stifled in this stale world, of lethargic gigantism. Your videos return to me adventure, and the senses I had honed in my childhood. Thank you, for leading me back into the unknown.
I find your videos truly amazing, Max. At this time, I am not in a position to try out your ideas myself, but I am keeping as much of the knowledge as I can in my memory for future use. Hopefully, there will also be the ability to review your videos, if and when that time comes. Thank you! -mike
Thank you. Your brain works startlingly like mine and it's kept me engaged with your videos for most of your 10 years here. I'll be getting back with some ideas what videos to focus on and I might have an idea regarding the custom milling bar. I want to let the idea bake for a bit to see how it would work in more real-world conditions, but you got my brain cooking on that one.
Wow! There's so much exciting and inventive content to look forward to. I think it's a great format to "tease" people on what is up-coming, this is a great way to engage viewers and also give them some input on what their favorite may be -- provided there's not too long a wait (as that could be too frustrating). I think you're doing great content, so my suggestions are just "flavoring" to an already delicious dish. You might consider to put up above-view camera angles above your various work locations? You could do this with a spear that has a simple pully on it -- you can throw the spear above you into a tree and pully the camera up to that vantage point (saves you climbing the tree with possible injury, please be careful out in the woods without unneeded risk!). You could have a similar result using a weighted rope to throw through a tree-branch gap if you are worried about damage to live trees. Love the material you publish, and sharing it will inspire people to do good work -- this is a blessing beyond words. Thanks!
No idea why this has only just appeared in my feed, I’m subbed and have notifications on. Anyway. Hope everything irl is good for you buddy, you are one of my favourite channels
You are amazing! I could reproduce your swinging motion chainsaw cutting with success. Thank you very much for that. I especially like the part where you talk about proper workplace preparation - I came to the same conclusion and value proper preparation more and more. I would only like to give you one advice - please protect your ears when using the chainsaw. I have seen too many craftsmen that are struggling with staying part of society just because they can't hear properly anymore. Don't let that happen to you my friend. Cheers from a german carpenter.
Best creator on youtube! Honorable mentions: diresta, otto & eivin kilcher, lizi qi, epic upcycling… but Advoko take the trophy as usual! And a professional bowler! Da GOAT
I watched a video of yours a year ago. My Dad and I have been building corral fence. We took your sawing technique and started sawing used power poles in half for fence boards. It has been a learning curve but doubles the amount of femce we can build. Thanks.
Max, another great video by a great person. I doubt I will ever use anything I learned, but I loved every minute of it. I'm looking forward to the bee video!
I love your videos and the instant i see a new one i drop everything to watch it! Thanks for showing us all your projects. It's very inspiring and entertaining!
Hello, I've been a long time lurker on your videos and I just want to thank you. What I get from this is inspiration to work harder. I've done some woodwork in the past but what inspiration I'm talking about is with my music. I know its strange to say but when I watch you create I feel like I can convert inspiration for motivation towards my projects and that's something I value a lot. I used to watch so much content that wouldn't give me that feeling and then I started finding channels like yours and that all changed for me. I've become more creative and I actually make so much better use of my time now. Even though I can't keep up with everything your showing here due to having a mental disability, I still get more than nearly everything I've watched on youtube over the years. Anyways, sorry I went off there, not sure if I'm making much sense but again, Thank you
So glad to see a video of yours again. I watched the version on your Russian channel. I feel the hypnotic effect of your voice is best utilized in English though. 😂

Can you use ceramic bearings and a C1055 steel sprocket, it looks like the teeth weren't hardened enough, you'll need 50-55 Rockwell.
You are the real deal with greatest projects. Be safe and healthy, thanks for your sharing.
chatgpt doesn't necessarily provide facts, be weary of it's words.
You sir are a freak of nature. And that's a compliment.
"Hello friends". It's been too long since I heard that classic opening
