  • Florida gator season opens in august every year, and this year we meet up with our friend Robbie in north Florida to fill our alligator tag. We walk you though our hunting tactics and every step of the hunt. We also show how to hunt alligator with a beef lung and snatch hook, which has proven to be a great method.
We make these videos for our friends and family, and to save the memories of these fun hunting trips. Feel free to subscribe to keep up with all of our hunting and fishing adventures.

Great job on the Hunt and production. Those Barge canal pilings always were a nightmare but you guys got thru it perfectly. Enjoy and I shared it on my FB page, I'm glad we filled our 2 the week before and left you some gators! ;)

We can’t use bait in MS. I’m glad as it’s much more challenging!

I’m very curious to know how long it took from first cast to gator on the boat

    • @DerekVanHook

From when we first hooked it until we got it in the boat took a little over an hour! It usually takes less time but having the hook snap and the line caught under the piling took extra time.

Dope video, just got stationed in Jacksonville and looking to get into gator hunting. Not to sure how getting tags works other than applying for zones I believe. Any recommendations on zones not to far from nas jax?

Haven’t done much up there. I would recommend taking a look at the public land in the zones near you and see where the most alligators are. Then apply for those zones! most of the zones that give out hundreds of permits are easy to get permits for difficult to get gators. Check out the FWC harvest reports and permit availability online!

This was the most amateur hunt I’ve ever seen you never bangstick a gator with only a hook on a pole in him.
