So I just watched Glass BluRay with Dolby Atmos mix on a 7.2 (w/heights) on a receiver that only plays Pro Logic IIz and it was phenomenal!! It may not be Atmos but IIz definitely seems to benefit from the newer mix. Wow!

@ Dev stev you are absolutely correct! Yamaha who has invented the DSP modes like jazz club and stadium and concert hall just to name a few has also made a front effect system called 7ch Cinema DSP. I had two Yamaha receivers that that had this option. The model numbers are RX-V2095 & RX-V2600.

my problem with all these sound theater setups is that the room they portray speaker placement is not realistic. Unless you have a dedicated home theater space.
