Explanation for those of you who wish to know the lore: The battle between Aatrox and Kayle-Morgana duo was actually a battle in Ancient Demacia (I believe) back when the Darkins were first corrupted and led an army of followers. Morgana used to use a sword that belonged to her mother and so did Kayle. The reason why Kayle gave her a cold stare was because putting down the blade - her mothers namesake - disrespected everything they stood for. Not only that, she used magic which as you know is despised in Demacia. If you look closely you can see that, in the flames Aatrox burns in, is Kindreds shadow which disappears because Aatrox is immortal and can never die. The second scene shows a future yet to pass, a future presented by Kindred to Yasuo where he really does forsake his skill of the win due to his killing of Yone using the skill (his brother). In this future yet to pass, Yasuo is old and dies defending an old village (in Ionia I believe..?) and he doesnt kill the bandits, he uses his Wind to rather push them back and he even uses his Tornado to shove the leader back from the Rain of Arrows and accepts his fate. If you look closer at the arrow scene, you can see Kindred’s arrow among the rest. The final scene is obviously Tryndamere however this particular fight reveals that canonically, every time Tryndamere uses his ultimate, he fights the Kindred (Which if you dont know, its quite literally Death) in a life or death battle. In this sequence we see that Tryndamere only lives not because he fends off Wolf (because Wolf created an opening for Kindred to land the shot, which would mean that Tryndamere was a mere second from dying) but because Ashe kills the two creatures that would have been responsible for his death.
How people react to LoL lore cinematics when they have no idea whats going on in the lore. This is literally the best cinematic they've ever done and as of today it has over 102 million views in just 5 days. Literally everyone loves it.
The cinematic is about the Past, Future and Present The Past, is of Kayle and Morgana, before they decided to go their separate ways of dealing with justice. It also explains how Aatrox already knows them despite not knowing Demacia itself, simply cuz at the time this happened Demacia wasn't Demacia yet The Future is of Yasuo, finghting one last time before accepting the arrow of the Lamb The Present is of Tryndamere, and his non acceptance of death, both by the Wolf and the Lamb, due to his partial "anger fueled blood magic" 1
and the big shadow of the wolf. Yasuo is not only an old man but an old warrior. He fought his whole life. The more he fought and avoided the deaththe bigger it's shadow grew. He fought one last time before he accepted death. Hopefully they are posting veteran samurai skin for Yasuo@@nhanduong5881
This cinematic also portrays death in general. Even in the fight against Aatrox we can see Kindred in the flames at the end, who tries to collect the death of Aatrox. Then Kindred shows on Yasuos death. We can see the wolf showing behind the rain of arrows, led by the arrow of the lamb. The wolf does not show tho, because Yasuo accepts the death by the lamb. The wolf only shows if there is resistance to death. Exactly this resistance is shown in the battle against Tryndamere. Tryndamere almost dies in the battle against the soldiers, so Kindred shows, to collect his death. He on the other hand does not accept it (his ultimate ability that denys death). This is the reason the wolf shows up as well. After Ashe saves Tryndamere from his near death that would have been delivered from the enemy soldiers behind him, Kindred vanishes and Tryndamere escapes death. Ashe in fact did not even see Kindred. Kindred only shows to those, that are about to die. It is an awesome cinematic, if you can see the hidden details.
Yep, I wanted to say the same. I wasn't impressed in the beginning either but that was because I didn't really get it. Once you get it and you understand what's happening + notice the details + feel the music = you can fully comprehend this cinematic is a masterpiece.
Would be so cool to react to @Necrit's explanation. This is an incredible piece of art once you see all the lore references. It just makes so much sense, and it's so incredibly well crafted. Riot outdid themselves with this one, but it's definitely hard to understand all its depths as a regular viewer.
People in your chat saying its mid clearly don't understand what was happening. By far their best cinematic, not only was it beautiful but the kindred lore mixed with tryndameres ult is just genius.
Kindred VU soon? This version of her and Wolf being an actual Wolf that can phase in and out of existence is far better than the floating head he is in game..
Tbh, 6/10 is way too low. There are so many details in the scenes. Moreover, the visuals paired and synced with the music are incredible. It's so damn hard to do on such a level.
It's good tho but IIRC the main theme is accepting death or fighting against it? For Yasuo's scene you can see Kindred's arrow before it transitioned to Tyrndamere fighting Kindred and refusing to die. As for Aatrox scene I'm not sure. Just as T1 said, the cinematic is kind of all over the place. Unlike the other cinematics like Awaken and The Call. The Call being for the Celestial/Gods and Awaken being for fighters defending themself/others.

It was cool, but some parts felt kind of weak. Yasuo's part had some cool aspects, but the wind effects felt like they had no weight, which makes sense if they were meant to be just wind, but these are meant to KILL people with cutting winds. Visual tearing of skin or stronger pushback followed by a quick shot of a body scraping across the ground would've definitely shown that better. The ashe bit was... meh. was trynd killing real humans while under a genjutsu by kindred? then ashe used Owl to break it? I didnt know kindred had that ability which patch did they add it?
Yes he is fighting the people surrounding him, but it's not genjutsu by kindred, but it was their job to claim tryn's soul(death/grim reaper) that moment when he was in a fight to the death so kindred manifested in tryndamere's mind indicating them doing their job(but tryn is not surprised since he has immortality for a brief moment, he maybe had numerous encounter with kindred by this time), but lamb lowered her bow when she sensed that tryn's time is not right now since helped arrived(Ashe) killing the other 2(tryn already killed 4)
