I want to point out two or three things as an E36 owner and afficcionado (its been my favorite car for most of my adult life) - the 318is is pretty much a 4 cylinder M3, has an LSD, short gears, 150HP and the best suspension with the exception of the M3. The 325i has the better block and intake for boost, if you want to go turbo or supercharger, that's a better choice than the 328i. The only diesel worth getting is the 325tds - intercooler from factory, has the more robust internals, and the difference in gas mileage in the motorway is negligible to the 318td, while having MUCH more torque and quite a bit more power, and here in Europe, the prices between the TD and TDS 325's are not really different. If you have a whining sound when turning or accelerating, check your power steering fluid - at most you have to replace the pump, which is not too hard to DIY. Cooling is the factory flaw with these things, check your radiator, water pump, radiator hoses and your fans for malfunctions, leaks and cracks. If you have an extra 1k aside, do that maintenance, 90% of your maintenance will disappear. Also check that rear subframe for cracking and tearing, its not as bad as the E30, but these cars are usually high mileage machines, and its the weak point of the suspension. Enjoy, there is nothing quite like driving the E36, even compared to other BMW's.
U should deep dive on the srt4 neon. I had one for 3 years and I absolutely loved it. I know the internet hates on em,but such a fun car. Love the videos

Ive had an e36 325is for almost a year its a pain in my ass trying to buy parts but i love the car, if you want something fun but willing to do the work yourself there good cars, just be ready to spend a bit more in parts if you live somewhere like the US

I got a 95 325i off my buddy for $700 and it sat in his driveway for 2 years and I drove it home that night and it has 210k miles and I love it so much❤ idk what it is but it is just great

My parents Had a BMW E36 (320i) Cabrio i believe the color was called "Madeira " with Sport Suspension and Sport exhaust and a massive stereo box in the trunk,wornout black leather Interior with Fake "M" seatcover for the Front Seats Aftermarket Radio refurbished black leather Steuerung Wheel (because it was very wornout too so we Had to let New leather be Put on the Steering Wheel exept from that it Had nothing Special exept the fact that the soft top Had to be Put down and Up manually ( i am German please correct me for wrong gramma but i mean the cloth top that you can usally Put on a Cabrio that is already build in the Car itself) and a hard top that can be removed completly and Has to If you would want to Put Up the "soft- top" or maybe the New Radiator because we / the mechanics that worked on it thought that it was Broken as it was over Heating the whole time even burnt my fathers face once because He tried to Release pressure from the water Tank but it was already boiling and IT Just got in His face but around 5 weeks later He looked almost Like nothing Happend and in the time He found the issue too aperently it was a blown headgasked and because of one Screw WE Had to sell the whole Car but my father still almost disasambeld the whole engine while Not removing it from the Car in our small Garage even after His accident and i the only one exept for my father that still Loved that Car "Drove" it Up the Trailer and have it a little goodbye kiss on the Steering Wheel and since that day i swore No Matter wich age of i find a identical one or even the Same on i will buy it No Matter the price because it was my childhood i grew Up with it and if i have Kids in the Future i want them to also experience that Car😊( it got pushed but i was the one Steering it and before we moved to Bayern the Car broke down after New Radiator blablabla btw we still have that old Radiator but Back to the topic i also was the one Steering it Back in the Garage 😅)

You can't not mention that what actually makes the 328 more valuable then the other models isn't because of the power since it barely makes more power then the 325. It's the ZF trans that only came in the 328 and m3s. The rest got the getrag which is notably worse, like alot worse.

im also really hoping this car stays cheal for another 10 or so years, i dont have a drivers license and have just a little bit to go for a license to start driving these cars. its my dream

I always loved the E39 so I hurried up and bought one now just because of what happened with the price of E30 and E34 :D Great car that may not increase its value by the amount you put into it, but its at least not going to be losing value anymore :DD

@@markroden well I got one as a gift 4 years ago and yeah other e36 cars are better looking... But i saw it yesterday for the first time (I'm 18 now) and i'm in love. Waiting to get my license tho
