Hey I didn't watch the video because I want Xcom 2 to be all new to me but I watch it until you were at the menu so I just got Xcom 2 and well Idk why but is slow and the graphics doesn't look the same as yours I got Xcom 2 from steam because i don't want to wait until it is for Xbox one so idk how long that will take and I got my brother to look at it but he did the best he could but it was still slow and graphics not the same so how do o fix this? (I think it is because of my computer but I try to restart my computer but didn't work so yeah idk what wrong)

Tried to do the same on commander: -Had no high ground on the map -When I found the first group, they were sparsed out, so the grenade couldn't hit all 3. -Had 2 guys fire, 1 grenade, one saved for later. -No one died on the ambush. -Last guy could only kill one with the grenade. -Enemies proceeded to kill 2 of my soldiers, the one who threw the grenade flanked, the other through high cover. For some reason other group walked into me on the same turn. -Ragequit.
I'm glad I found your comment. I was about to post very similar. It doesn't matter how many times I restart on legendary ironman, I get absolutely slaughtered. Not making any tactical errors, it's just plain bad luck every time. For example, all soldiers in full cover yet the advent officer marks one and proceeds to one shot them with a crit.
On the first avatar mission, the one where you recover the vial, once on iron man 3 groups of enemies walked into me in just 2 turns (and I was near the edge of the map). Completely surrounded, enemies running in between my team, 2 of mine mindcontrolled. Needless to say I had to restart the campaign. xD
I just want to say that it literally took me seconds to subscribe after I saw your table of contents for the video. honestly, it's one of the greatest feature I've ever seen in a lets play.
I stayed up about two hours after release last night to get the game all updated and working trying to get my character done to try to make it into the first group here. I'm extremely happy with how he turned out and I really hope he gets in at some point. Congrats to those who got in, hope to read some good logs.

My brother put me on to XCOM enemy within, but I never finished it. But I watched all of Odds playthrough. So I eventually played 2 and have done 3 I playthroughs. Started the 4th with mods. War of chosen was nice update but I need XCOM 3, please don't screw it up
Hey Odd, I downloaded the characters that you have put into the campaign. You should read some of the bio's people have written for their soldiers, alot of them are pretty good and gives you an idea about who they are! Just a thought.
hey, i can see my version of myself and my submission of PAYDAY members in there! sweet! also, jane kelly from the intro is still with me, and my phantom ranger, while others perished, effectively making her the longest surviving member of my lineup XD she also killed my first codex when she teleported right next to her and didnt notice her for some reason. crit shotgun right outta concealment from point blank range. nicknamed her "vindalf" when she shotgunned a lanceras it was running past her and flank spotted her while she was overwatched. the orignal nickname was "vandal" which i misread as "vandalf" at first like "gandalf" 'you shall not pass' the way she killed the lancer. when i got it, i changed it to "vindalf" because i remembered a line from a book titled "american gods" something like "alviss son of vindalf", more or less nicknaming her after some higher being of myth and legend. TLDR, i wouldnt know what to do if she dies
I was honestly expecting more of a Matrix-style treatment of humanity based on what we found out in XCOM 1. Instead it looks like the aliens came in and fixed most of our major global problems. I'm honestly having trouble deciding who the real bad guys are.
same here.Advent is trying to fix humanity at the cost of freedom and oppressing us but XCOM would rather be free than our problems solved.Both are valid so I'll say they are both bad guys

I honestly find strategy games boring cause I'm more of a RPG, MMO kinda guy an dont like a lot of restrictions in games but since it's free this month I might give it a try( I'm more of a Skyrim, Witcher, COD, those types of games :) (Skyrim favorite game of all time ;)

im so glad they updated the character pool setup so names can no longer be pulled by engineers or scientists, i hated that, especially scientists because unless im mistaken you never really see their names, but even with engineers it sucked, oh cool that guy is in it but hes a fucking resource instead of a soldier

This game is really hard even on normal difficulty (veteran), too many missions with limited turns, hit % is a joke sometimes, 89% chance of hitting at two feet away and it misses!!, still love it....
Just got this game and figured i'd look up some gameplay before starting it after college semester is done. Ended up liking the gameplay and comentary so decided to subscribe.
I love the touch of Bradford limping after being shot in mission. Also, I always forget how much they tried in the tutorial, a lot of content there when you aren't just blowing up a statue :P

I'm very happy to see that you can use explosives as a common weapon instead of a emergency thing. It always frustrated me to no end in EU that anytime I used explosives I was basically destroying upgrade and building mats that I desperately need. The game is hard enough without them punishing you for killing the enemy.

Because in XCOM: Enemy Unknown/Within, you were the home team. It was your turf. XCOM 2, you lost the fight and now its the aliens turf. Talk smack there, get wacked.

Back in enemy unknown everyone would fire on one unit. Even if the first overwatch killed it they'd continue to fire at its corpse instead of using the overwatch on the other enemies that moved.
+Noah Chandler All of the soldiers that fire at one unit (the first they see move) do so taking turns one after the other. if one manages the kill, any soldiers farther down the line will either stay in overwatch or take shots at other moving enemies.

I remember once that one of my guys missed TWO 74% chances, IN A ROW. He, honestly, went on to be a sniper

They hate on it because it’s quite difficult to those who haven’t played anything like it and especially unforgiving when the player makes a mistake.

I honestly find strategy games boring cause I'm more of a RPG, MMO kinda guy an dont like a lot of restrictions in games but since it's free this month I might give it a try( I'm more of a Skyrim, Witcher, COD, those types of games :) (Skyrim favorite game of all time ;)
This video perfectly captures my first experience playing XCOM2. all of my shots missing, overwatch fails and the enemy landing perfect hits.

So Crazy, I've been playing this game for so many years and I have never seen the tutorial mission until now. It's awesome!
It’s interesting to see how someone else plays this game. I generally try to spread my people out and get flanks, while he seems to like to just line up a firing squad.
I tend to play this game as follows: load up my saved game, stare at the map for a few minutes, sigh, turn it off and go and fill out my taxes.

I have been watching my dad play the first one since I was 2 years old, so this game has a special place in my heart. You're videos are amazing. XCom 1 imo is even little better than xcom 2 and harder
im so glad they updated the character pool setup so names can no longer be pulled by engineers or scientists, i hated that, especially scientists because unless im mistaken you never really see their names, but even with engineers it sucked, oh cool that guy is in it but hes a fucking resource instead of a soldier

It aims to incorporate fan content, such that it can be voice acted to tell a dynamic story, fitting to this Let's Play. By all means, abuse the comment section. I wish I could personally (like the past 15,000+ words from the current season of XCOM Enemy Within), but I have other things to be working on.

This game is really hard even on normal difficulty (veteran), too many missions with limited turns, hit % is a joke sometimes, 89% chance of hitting at two feet away and it misses!!, still love it....
This game is meant to be hard but it's not that insane
Just got this game and figured i'd look up some gameplay before starting it after college semester is done. Ended up liking the gameplay and comentary so decided to subscribe.

I love the touch of Bradford limping after being shot in mission. Also, I always forget how much they tried in the tutorial, a lot of content there when you aren't just blowing up a statue :P

I'm very happy to see that you can use explosives as a common weapon instead of a emergency thing. It always frustrated me to no end in EU that anytime I used explosives I was basically destroying upgrade and building mats that I desperately need. The game is hard enough without them punishing you for killing the enemy.
No armor for you. Get promoted before we waste gear on you.

4 years on and I'm finding your video very helpful. The parts I mostly struggle at is building my avenger and choosing what to research, purchase and equip and when is the best time for it.

Because in XCOM: Enemy Unknown/Within, you were the home team. It was your turf. XCOM 2, you lost the fight and now its the aliens turf. Talk smack there, get wacked.

Finally overwatch now alternates targets. Or is that only on ambushes?

Back in enemy unknown everyone would fire on one unit. Even if the first overwatch killed it they'd continue to fire at its corpse instead of using the overwatch on the other enemies that moved.
+Noah Chandler All of the soldiers that fire at one unit (the first they see move) do so taking turns one after the other. if one manages the kill, any soldiers farther down the line will either stay in overwatch or take shots at other moving enemies.
