  • In this video you will learn, how to install OpenFOAMv2306 in Windows 10 in 2023. First, we will enable windows subsystem for linux. Then we will download ubuntu app. Then we will download and install openfoam inside ubuntu app. Then I will show you how to run a tutorial case. Finally I will show you how you can get Salome and Paraview to preprocess and postprocess your simulation results.

    Thanks for guiding. I found an error after editing the bashrc file. Then I added "source" word before the line. So, I paste this "source /usr/lib/openfoam/openfoam2312/etc/bashrc" and It worked.

    im stuck again, when i do "Is" i get nothing, it says "command 'is' is not found, but can be installed with: sudo apt install ironseed"

    im comming to ask again sir, i once did finish the installation and everything was fine. but later when i am trying to open my Ubuntu, there's error msg that said "Failed to attach disk 'C:\Users\ASUS\AppData\Local\Packages\CanonicalGroupLimited.Ubuntu22.04LTS_79rhkp1fndgsc\LocalState\ext4.vhdx' to WSL2: The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.
    Error code: Wsl/Service/CreateInstance/MountVhd/HCS/ERROR_SHARING_VIOLATION". what should i do sir?

    when I go to the localstate folder, I don't have the rootfs folder. Instead I find a hard disk image file.

    for paraview, do you need to download the .exe file first, prior to installing salome?

      Hello. You can download and install Paraview and Salome in any order. They are not dependant on each other.

    i cant follow the step after 'simplefoam' step. ubuntu said 'simpleFoam not found' and should be installed. then when i type 'sudo apt install openfoam', i found that my version alrd upgrade to the newest version 2306. it means success or failed? i follow all of ur step sir but still cant figure out the error.

      ohh i get it alrd sir. i forgot to put space between . and /usr... in GNU nano tab, now my openfoam is working. thankyou for tutorial, it really help me.
