Really liked this video. While being short, it said everything that needed to be done and why you made specific choices. I will get a ST X coil-over soon (tne X is the only option for my car) and I am confident it's gonna be great now :)
I have H&R sways, KC design end links and VAC monoball control arms along with the ST XA's and really enjoy the set up. I can hang with just about anything. I would add extenders for the damper adjustment on the rears and poke those into the trunk. KW makes them. Just make sure you drill a good size hole. I may go to a KW V3 or Ohlin's Road and Track kit. I might also swap to something less stiff than the H&R sways.
I find it funny when people call the St prone to rust because they're galvanized instead of stainless like KW, but meaningwhile almost all other brands of coilovers are just powdercoated steel and nobody calls those prone to rust, despite it being much worse.
Would you recommend the ST ZA Coilovers for the BMW F30 on NYC streets? there is tons of potholes everywhere and I really want a smoother ride, with performance handling not being compromised
Considering the ST XA’s on my 1. gen subaru legacy. The coils that the previous owner put on are some cheap low quality ones that bounces around at every single bump in the road. Have you experienced any issues like that with this set? Also, great and informative video man! Enjoyed it alot
No squeaking at all. However, I did have a gentle clunking sound from the front left strut that seemed to go away after I adjusted the rebound settings. If this is on your car were the rubber bushings installed on the front struts?
@@canyoncars Talked to the guy at ST. They said the noise is from the By-pass Valve. It occurs occasionally when high-speed bump/rebound. Not a major issue but quite annoying though.

Thank you! I’m sure it’ll be a great mod!
Thank you for your video, it was helpful. I do consider ST XA for my G30 :)
Glad it was helpful!
@@canyoncars Are you still on the stiffest setting on rebound?
Great camera work of the shocks working. My M140i handles like a boat... Need these!
Did you installed on your M140i mate ?

KW V3 and ST XTA are the same.
Only difference is the shock material and coating, which doesn’t change performance.
Great review, it really helped
Glad it helped!

That’s a great point!

I’d recommend looking at sway bars. From what I’ve heard you can reduce body roll drastically without compromising too much on the ride quality.

Thanks! No issues and the ride is still great!
Hi, just wondering if you notice any squeaking noise from the front dampers when going through bumps?

How are the ST XA's holding up?
Still no issues!
Adjust the front and back, which number?
They’re basically KW V2
Do you have adaptive suspension?
I don’t but I believe ST makes models that are compatible.
