  • Mercedes’ season didn’t start as expected at the Bahrain Grand Prix, and it does seem like the Silver Arrows will have a bad campaign yet again. After all that positive feedback from testing and free practices and even the great start from Russell who managed to pass Leclerc for P2, at the end the podium was far away which is terrible for a team that strives to be among the top 2 teams on the grid. Could we see another below average season, a one last torturing for the seven-time world champion before he moves away?

I have no sympathy for Merc....this is what happens when you don't do a test on 100% power. Sandbagging = Unknown problems. Entirely avoidable issues.

I understand your point, and I'd like to add that during the pre-season testing, as well as during the free practice sessions (FP1-3), the cars weren't really exposed to much dirty hot air from other cars in front of them. This could significantly affect the performance and data collected during those times.

Merc makes a lot of mistakes and it didn't start in 2022 but in 2014 and it was looked over because they had the fastest car.😮

Over the last few seasons Mercedes has lost over 100 engineers to Red Bull and other teams. Mercedes is in over it’s head at this point. People don’t leave good companies, they leave bad managers.

Merc 's lost their luck ,when Wolff forfeited the option to challenge Massi screw-up , giving away Hamilton's title win to Verstappen. It was down hill ever since . It was a smart move from Hamilton to switch away from Merc's to the red team .

As soon as I heard His Shyness had handed in his notice, I knew he had tested the 2024 Car.
Every single car on the track using a Mercedes Power Plant reported Engine problems and had to reduce output, Lando Norris
blew up his Merc Engine before the Qually runs, so don't expect too much from him this season with only 3 Dud engines left
    before heavy penalties kick in.

    • @jkbzz
      @jkbzz 3 месяца назад

There's no way he tested the 2024 car and knew for sure these problems would be there. It doesn't work that way.
However just looking at F1 in recent memory, there's no way Mercedes were going to frogleap Red Bull in terms of development. Then there's Toto doing all sorts of shit to try and undermine his star driver. If I am not going to win a championship, I might as well go elsewhere where I am wanted and where I can earn more money whilst driving in F1, even though I may not win there too.
Lewis made the right call. Mercedes are not going to win shit unless the cost cap is lifted and maybe should Newey retire.

If they were losing 5-6 tenths per lap due to the PU that's got nothing to do with the drivers or Hamilton's feedback for what the car has become. His feedback has led to a more consitent base - if they had this from 2022 Mercedes would likely be very competitive up to this point but they failed to listen to him and wasted 2 seasons.

    • @Luke-en2tk

His feedback was just about the seat position a lot more has changed on the car than that, the suspension being probably the biggest one

@@Luke-en2tk Not just James Allison, Its not hard to comprehend that there are hundreds of people involved in the aero project alone.
My comment was specifically focused on the team ignoring Hamilton then as they finally listened its culminated along with the hard work of not just Hamilton or Allison but the rest of the engineers to develop a car that is a step forward. Its still no where near because they are YEAR behind if not 2 years really if you compare to Red Bull

@@karmatt5075 did you not hear Max's comments about the new RB20 before the first race, he said he leaves them to make the fastest car possible. Some people like yourself seem to think Hamilton plays a big part in the new car other than moving the seating position which may or may not of improved the cars performance. Having the third best engine on the grid doesn't help matters

Red Bull's success is not in the engine but in the floor and mechanical grip. Low tire degradation has nothing to do with the engine.
