We were very sad to hear of the passing of New Brunswick Acadian fiddler Hédard Bulger in late June! Here's a lovely little march (?) that we learned from Hédard about ten years ago when were visiting the Acadian Peninsula. He owned a fish shop, "Marché de Poisson Bulger", in Le Goulet, NB, and was nice enough to try to remember some of his favorite fiddle tunes for us. He didn't have names for them, so this one we just call "Hédard Bulger's Tune." Unfortunately, I don't think anyone else recorded him, so we just have a small handful of tunes, but they're quite lovely tunes! Thank you Hédard!
UPDATE: Folks are pointing out this is "Fiddler from Duoro", a tune composed by the great New Brunswick fiddler Ivan Hicks!

Devon, I love your playing and how you teach as well. I’ve been following you for awhile now.
This particular tune called Fiddler from Douro, was composed by Ivan Hicks. The notation is in his Fiddle Tunes and Souvenirs Originals - Volume 2.
