Jay Hernandez is aging like fine wine. I love seeing Dennis Quaid especially since we'll get a clue of what Jack Quaid will look like when he's older😆. Cheech is still acting at 78 years old, right on!!!
If you would like to watch another great movie like this one, watch Spare Parts with George Lopez, Alexa and Carlos Pena Vega. It is also true story! You will really love the movie!!!
@@familycoats9508 I’ll have to check that out. Another good movie is McFarland USA about a Latino/Mexican high school running team in Central Valley California.
Just finished the movie as a 35 year man that has no interest in golf let me tell you this movie is amazing 👏 . It had me in tears 😢 . To mr Santos my history/English teacher thank you for never giving up on me .
just saw the film with my mom if you have the chance please give it a watch it really was special to see just how hard our people have worked and the effort that was put to get greater opportunities
Hollywood, I’m begging you, please make more movies like this! My emotions were all over the place, constantly throughout the movie. The acting was done brilliantly. Many thanks to the Quaids for investing in this very worthwhile project. We need to be reminded that, going back to the 50s is not something we should always aspire to, the racism was just this bad. Beautiful movie and I appreciate everyone who took part in creating it.
I'm taking my dad today to the theater - he grew up in Del Rio, attended San Felipe High at the same time this movie takes place. I can't wait to see his reaction.
An estimated 37.2 million people of Mexican heritage living in the US, and around 64.99 million of Hispanic origin from many other countries across the Western Hemisphere and beyond. (Pew Research and US Census Bureau). Their ancestors fought in every war since The Revolutionary War Of Independence, and that's not including hundreds of years before, building towns, cities, churches, hospitals, and universities across continental America.
I was EP on a movie in 1990 . The only reason I was because one of the main actors was just about to shaft me and leave to go with another agency and thought it would make me feel better 😂😂😂. It didn’t
I saw this film today and really enjoyed it. I am not a golf fan, but this is a great story! Congrats to everyone involved in making this film. It is worth the price of a ticket and deserves to be seen on the big screen.
Great movie ! Made me proud to be a Mexican. I never knew how we were treated even with a simple game like golf. The fact this is our land and we got treated like 2nd hand citizens even after the war
if ya'll understood this movie properly, it was about life and how we see it today and how we can have perseverance through criticism. if we stick to our goals and see the perspective in any situation, then it will give us a better understanding of who we are and what we want for our future. a lot of us make decisions based off of criticism, experience, influence, and how we were raised. it is our responsibility to show influence in a better form. we need to celebrate each other more, we are always criticizing others because of our own accomplishments. because of the criticism we all endure everyday, our mind tends to picture these negative words and turn them into pictures of reality which can change the decisions of others and what they will do in their future. we need to have better confidence within ourselves. the mask you wear will eventually come off and you can become the person you truly want to be without any worry of criticism. when your house of wax melts, which will reveal the fraud inside which will not matter to you if you know where you are going and you truly know yourself. a lot of criticism is made because the other person can not understand or see what your idea of life is. everyone has their own thought of life. if you do not like what's under the wax, then of course your going to start criticizing others because you have not set your life goals. once you set your life goals, you daily routine will naturally change towards that goal. but make sure you stick to your goal and no one else's, persevere in every situation you come across! Read this book if you have time: The Seeds of Greatness - Dennis Waitley.
waitley is a successful caucasian man ... what would he have in common with a poor mexican or black child with dreams, or even a caucasian child doing it really tough. hmm? he proly never felt a glass ceiling pressing down on him.
Wow, its hard to believe that a lot of people were racist (not all of them). Things have really changed, thank God. I am Mexican and my husband is a gringo 😊. Him and his family are the most loving people. Wnen I see some people playing the "race card", they have no idea what racism really is. Great movie!
There are many points of view, therefore, it is valid to see, and also, to understand, and see what it is all about. Every movie with a plot shows, teach, inspired and so on .... History, and many other aspects of life, so just be open mind ....
“When we spoke on the phone I assumed you were American”
“Well you assumed right.”
Done so well.

He looks older than 46 how's that aging well?
Finally an American movie about my people without it being about prison or gangs.
Everybody else always has the spotlight.
