I own one. It's a good monitor. I had some coil whine on HDMI but none on Display Port. As an added incentive they have a 1-month no dead pixels guarantee, which is really awesome because even if you have only one faulty pixel you can return them the monitor and ask for a new one. Other manufacturers don't do this. You need like 2-3 dead pixels or other significant faults.

Great review once again! A few months ago when i was looking for a monitor i discovered your channel and saw the requests to review this model. I remembered iiyama from the CRT times, and after digging around the internet i decided to get it. I am super happy with it, glad i went with an IPS instead of a VA, perfect for CS, but also for other stuff, as i have only one monitor. Also i really like how it looks, no cheesy red accents and racing gamer crap, it looks great on a monitor arm. Luckily for my OCD my unit has no coil whine. Was hopping u would review it to get an icc profile, that really sets your reviews apart from the rest. For me you have the best monitor reviews on RUclips, keep up the good work!

I've bought this monitor but in only "G" version, the shop told me they don't have it in stock and they'll send the "GB" which left me suprised. When i received it I was worried that it might have the coil whine issue, but it doesn't. The design works great for me, love the minimalistic look. The stand is indeed too big, I have a shallow desk and its really far from the wall, making it take almost half of my desk depth and the screen is not far from my face. The colors are good, just good, when looking at my Legion 5 2021 screen it looks subjectively better. I have some backlight bleed, but it's not awful. And what's really important for me, the screen is really responsive and the ghosting is minimal for the price. TBH i bought it because of your review, it seemed to tick all of my boxes, but i was worried about all the negative comments about this screen and the fact that you've got the monitor straight from iiyama which might suggest you got a golden sample.

My AOC 24G2U died (bought with your video) and I was in panic because was the first model and I was in love, you give me very good news with this review. Love your work!!!! Hey! How do you like this monitor now? Are you still using it?

    • @lmeza1
      @lmeza1 2 года назад

@@hillman9730 Yeah, I'm reading your message with this monitor! For the price that cost me (100€), was a bargain. There are two things that bother me:
      - When monitor is connected to AC, but PC is power off, it does a little bit of white sound.
      - Lower brightness, THIS IS THE WORST OF THE MONITOR BY FAR (and the one that really matters), specially if you use at night, my older AOC has less lower brightness, at night I suffered this a lot at start, but now I'm used to this.
So, I'm happy with it because in everything else is amazing (colors, contrast, response time & refresh rate, little frame, stand adjustable and rotative, two usb for having my bluetooth and mouse dongles, FreeSync running fine by DP with a GTX 1070, and I had lucky and doesn't have big light leaks).
I think that the worse thing that can hurts from this monitor, is just the lower brightness and what can you get for the same price, for example if I need to buy this monitor or AOC 24G2U (older panel I had, not the newer, you can find both on
techless channel) I would repeat with the AOC if they're on the same price, if it was like 170€ (AOC) vs 140€ (iiyama), I would go for iiyama with no doubt.

I looked into this monitor before seeing this review. When I got the G version of this monitor (non adjustable) I realised something:
The stand. The stand is the same look as yours on the G version, but the GB version I saw had a completely different design (like a C shape). The stand on your model is like mine, however the stand is smaller and it doesn't protrude much at all. I can only surmise that the reason for this is because it is adjustable it needs a little more stability, especially for orientating.
Excellent review btw. Very concise - to the point, detailed in the right areas. Good breakdown of settings and some helpful suggestions. I downloaded your ICC profile as well.
The image really is good out of the box. I did reduce my brightness to 30 though.
Edit: yes the speakers are horrendous.

A small bit of bright leak on the lower right side, but I can live with that as it only seems to appear on dark loading screens. The stand size is definitely annoying tho, I promptly bought a clamping gas sprung arm with height, swivel, tilt & rotation.

I had the first 24G2 who at the end is way too strong, especially the bright colors. This one is really good. Thanks for the video, adjusted your settings and the image is wonderfull. G-Sync works fine without issues with Display port. Honestly screens with 410 Nits like the 24G2sp should not be available, this is simply danger for the eyes. Reducing brightness gives a fuzzy image. This one is until now the best gaming monitor i've tested.

Regarding brightness, setting Blue Light Reducer mode to max (Mode 3) in OSD menu and Night Mode in OS(Windows) makes it completely usable in a dark room with no other source of light. I know it's not the same as reducing brightness but it's a compromise that works.

However, Iiyama in our newer TFT times became an average Company. For me as an old school gamer till today CRT 4life! I tested some of the best TFT monitors on the market in real world gaming, but they never reaches the performance of an CRT monitor, it's unpossible. I've only used 60hz monitors so far, last monitor that I bought was in 2012, so it was time already. I've been looking through hundreds of models and reviews, my first option was the Gigabyte M27Q because I also wanted a resolution upgrade, but too expensive (€350) and seems like many other budget 1440p had different issues so I decided to settle with 1080p for now keeping it as cheap as possible. Regarding the monitor I opt for the 27" variant of this (G2770HSU-B1) which has the inferior stand because it costs only 9 € more (189,90 € as of today) and I plan on getting a dual monitor stand anyway.

I just got this monitor to replace the LG 24GN600-F as it makes a humming/buzzing noise at the full 144Hz and immediately the Iiyama GB2470HSU-B1 I can tell is a better monitor, colours look spot on right out of the box except for gamma, the LG was good but needed tweaks all over to get it right. Only thing really "bad" about the iiyama so far is having to use buttons to navigate the OSD thats a real pain in the arse compared to a nice little joystick. The monitor doesn't support Win10 HDR either so if thats a thing for you look at the LG, not that HDR should be on your checklist for monitors like this as at best you'll get a HDR10 capable monitor which is crap anyway. Definitely set OD to -1 if you run 165Hz as well to clean up those fast moving images. USB ports are handy to have too for things like LED mouse mats and decent USB microphones, internal power supply vs. external AC brick is also a big plus IMO.
