These flashbacks were better than every sequel fight. Nobody can beat the chemistry these 2 have while dueling.
Eh, that duo duel of Rey and Kylo in Last Jedi was one of the best in the whole saga and better than this flashback as far as epicness...but I agree NOTHING tops the final duel of Episode III!

I was so happy to see them both having at it with prequel level choreography but I’m also left with a bittersweet feeling. I hope this isn’t the last flashback between Obi-wan and Anakin that we’ll get in this series.
Either Deborah Chow and Disney had brought back Nick Gillard for that scene or Christensen and McGregor had simply utilized what they had learned some 20 years ago. This series has featured the best lightsaber choreography I have seen in any Disney Star Wars production.
We need a live action Clone Wars episode.

Hayden’s still got it, I like that behind the back flourish he did. Ewan also stepped it up, it’s like it’s not been almost 20 years. They never missed a beat. Of course that’s practice and good choreography, plus obviously they’ve worked with each other previously, but all that aside. It’s still refreshing to see the two of them go at it again.
Hopefully someone will send this link to Hayden so he can see how many people were so happy to see him back!!!

With all the love Hayden has been getting for all the crap he went through with the prequels, I hope the same happens to Jake Lloyd too. Cuz he so definitely deserves it. I mean if this love can happen to Hayden and Amed Best, then Jake should certainly get the love he deserves. I mean he was a KID when all that started.
I agree, and I was one of the apparently few that LOVED his interpretation of the source material he was given! He was EXACTLY what Anakin would be like as he slowly morphed into Vader! I mean, look at just about every serial killer in history, from Ted Bundy to John Wayne Gacy, and tell me how many were the last people you would see becoming that from a child until adulthood...THAT is what is truly horrific! He had so much love and good in him and that was what finally redeemed him in the end!!

Jake is too far gone. People obliterated his sanity the way they treated him and he's just done. I'm surprised he hasn't killed himself or other people at this point.
There will ALWAYS be complaints, especially about "Why didn't they de-age Hayden?" vs. "Why Hayden was de-aged? we can't see his natural face? they ruined star wars! EAT MY SHORTS!!"

Aren't Lightsabers, and the entirety of the Coruscant background, CGI? Technically speaking, there is CGI in that scene
these 2 chemistry with light sabers is off the charts good with the prequal choreography.

@@tannerpena6491 You say all this but who is the master? Obi-Wan. Its his job to teach Anakin, Anakin was too immature and over-confident during duels and that's how Kenobi could take his lightsaber. Who won on Mustafarr? Kenobi, I don't understand why people think Anakin would beat Obi-Wan when every time Kenobi was too smart for him and his dueling capabilities ultimately out-matched Anakin.
@@uilliam6926 did you watch the video? Cause i am sure Anakin defeated obi wan, the only reason obi wan was able to take anakin's lightsaber was because he relaxed, he thought it was over but obiwan continued with a lecture 😂
@@gaspenpayne6755obi wan won the duel, are you kidding? Anakin demanded he yielded and he didn’t, and he managed to disarm anakin while re-arming himself to prove a point. Anakin was being arrogant and thought of himself better than he was in that moment, obi wan took the opportunity to humble him as a master should.
And that is why Obi wan beat anakin in mustafar. He was too arrogant and obi wan was playing defense the entire duel, waiting for an opening.

I grew up watching the prequels and so when seeing Anakin it brings me joy but also makes me sad knowing what he becomes later on 💔 I remember rewatching the ROTS as a kid and every time hoping that Anakin doesn’t turn to the dark side

I was an adult when the prequels came out so I don't have the same connection with it that most people do, but I can still get a kick out of seeing the same feels I can get with the OG series on these people's faces. It may not be mine...but I still get it. Delightful.
It's weird that everybody pretty much unanimously agrees that Ewan McGregor absolutely showed up and gave 110% to this role every single day, but the evolution of his teaching style is SO UNDERRATED. Obi-Wan is learning, he's saying what he thinks Qui-Gon would say to him, he doesn't see it as "negging" because that's the same discipline that Obi-Wan was taught with. You can see, even in this spar from before Episode 2, that Anakin isn't picking up what Obi-Wan is putting down - for all of the very subtle "proud dad" half-smiles that Obi-Wan does, when he says, "Your need for victory Anakin - it BLINDS you." He looks like he's disgusted with Anakin. He really IS very critical of Anakin, like there's something wrong with HIM that frustrates Obi-Wan, like Obi-Wan thinks the Force is just fucking with him by dumping this headstrong, aggressive, petulant little shit just into his lap.
But at some point, that softens in him. Instead of "scolding" Anakin, he leans more into "trolling" Anakin. So that there's always a lesson, but HOPEFULLY the lesson is funny and puts him at ease and doesn't make him feel like a complete failure for trying.
I would even say that ties into the whole "Obi-Wan" Knows thing from Revenge of the Sith, where he's like, "You guys SUCK at hiding it, I've been playing stupid so that you're not embarrassed, but I KNOW you two are boinking. I mean, come the fuck on, Anakin, how many Jedi come to this temple smelling like the Vagtastic Voyage in the morning? You ever seen Master Windu at a titty bar, Anakin? No. You're terrible at hiding shit."

Vader is still contemplating and learning from his past lessons with Obi Wan. He is still a learner. In the new hope he is passed that. There is nothing to remember nor learn from in the past any more.

They’ve already came out and said there’s multiple flashbacks throughout the show so everyone will probably be more satisfied in that series.

when i first heard ewan's "scot" real voice when he was interviewed during ep 2 i went "holy shit ewan sounds exactly like a younger alec guiness" you really can tell how much time he put into getting his voice down , same as hayden he got down vader's voice, mannerisms and even the way he stands, moves pre suit (once he becomes darth vader in rots) and even the way he looks up in the sky while hes mediating with his arms crossed ...they both are awesome

Notice that Anakin has only just started using form 5 Djem So but it's nowhere near as refined, fluid or fast as when he uses it in Revenge Of The Sith but there is still a lot of power

Most likely this is prior to episode 2, Anakin has his braid, he still has his hand (its not gloved), he is meeting Obi Wan meaning he is still attached to the Academy and not on special assignment with his master yet. Just my guess.

I’d like to think this scene takes place right before they are dispatched to protect Padme. I imagine Anakin was informed they would be going to her apartment AFTER they completed their training for the day and that’s why Anakin was peering off in the beginning watching from afar

Hands down best episode by a large margin. The flashbacks and cat and mouse chase is what the whole show should have been. Near miss encounters, with Obi fighting some inquisitors along the way. Maybe even Vader tracking and killing some other jedi as well.
The biggest problem with these reaction videos is that every time one of the hosts speaks, the video stops, thr camera zooms in on the speaker, then when they're done flapping their gums the video resumes, even though we can STILL see you while the video is playing. Stop the pauses when you talk & the vids will be much better! Love the sparring scene! Flashback!! 👍🏿👍🏿

People say that they need to de-aged his face, but you know that deaging ruined the performance, also i don't really care if Hayden looks old, i'm just grateful to see Hayden as Anakin again after 17 years
For me he still looks pretty good. He can play ep2 Anakin and he can definitely play ep3 Anakin. They can make some story shortly before ep2 or during clone wars but in live action and I'll bet everybody would watch.
DeepFake Luke Skywalker was also pretty stiff in Mandalorian S2.

That's why I said in a comment Obi Wan Kenobi can't fuck with Anakin when he had his real legs he was faster he's then Obi-Wan already stronger than him the only way Obi-Wan beat Anakin it's because he's older and wiser he had more years mentally Jedi training the young Anakin an Obi-Wan knew that he used his his wisdom they could Anakin's legs off and after Anakin lost his legs his Jedi life was pretty much over with when it came to physical fighting he only had the force to fight with really that's how Obi Wan Kenobi one that second fight it wasn't really a contest really if Anakin would have used just the force he could have easily beat Obi-Wan Kenobi take us all he had to do was snatch his lightsaber from him and destroy it and make sure that he didn't bring one of his own so Obi-Wan can try to use that one to fight with once Anakin destroy his lightsaber now you see that's how you get things done if I was in that position and I was on the bad side which I never would be but if I was I would use my brains I would never bring my lightsaber to a fight when I know I'm not the same Jedi I once was once my legs are gone I would have used the force and destroyed Obi-Wan's lightsaber and then destroy him because Anakin's Force is stronger did Obi-Wan's much stronger
If Anakin is without gloves, then this scene doesn't work. (Why would Obi-wan consider losing to Anakin during the start of the clone war? Anakin was far less skillful than Obi during that period. Their skills eventually matched up during the mid/end of clone wars.). Unless Obi-Wan was sarcastic here.
SEQUELS ARE TRASH. Only this fight shows how superior prequels are to Sequels, especially Revenge of the Sith

They look old. It is like a low budget serie. But worse than that the fight scenes are terrible and they are destroying Vader each time he shows up. Trying to explain Vader was the worst thing ever. He has fallen from the baddest vilain on history to a normal one failing again and again.
