Saw it last month. Absolutely brilliant. Hair stood up on the back of my neck when Ian Shaw did THAT speech. Go and see it. Hopefully will tour. Yanks would love it. Broadway here we come!
@@AngelaJeanBarrcan you not be judgmental saying that? You don’t know what we Americans like and don’t like. we have better theater than you and wayyyy more productions going so I would not be so quick to judge that my friend.
I didn't know this existed. I've got to watch it. I saw "Jaw" when it came out. I was 9 years old. That movie messed me up. It's the number one reason why I joined the Army and never even talked to the Navy. If my tank had been hit and and disabled during Desert Storm, I could dismount it run without worrying about being eaten by a shark before hypothermia sets in. You men and women that serve or served in the Navy and Coast Guard have my utmost respect. Cheers from America.
It may still be doing its North American tour run. I highly recommend it. Saw it in London and it was brilliant. Such a fascinating look at the three actors as individuals, and their dynamic as a trio. Particularly touching to see Robert Shaw's own son playing him. It was eerily touching to hear him talk about death and fatherhood, knowing he would soon pass whilst the very son playing him was just a boy!
@@BDog54 I have got to see it. Sadly, I had to return to Tennessee. Not much Broadway quality here in in the land of rednecks and MAGAts. Hopefully it will be on tv or RUclips one day. Shaw's son is the spitting image of his dad. Most people here in America know him from his role as "Quint" and that's it. The man was genius actor and writer. Cheers from America.
It must be in his jeans! I bet when Ian looks at himself he is getting ready for the show. He would talk to his reflection just like if he talk to his dad.
I can’t believe I missed this on Broadway. It’s so good and so funny they should do this on tour or they should do this back on Broadway camp it on Broadway.
Y’all know this theatre is amazing, this act was awesome when I seen it. And I have nothing but amazing memories of it even though I brought a now ex, I would still go again again if I could because it was amazing!
@@warpartyattheoutpost4987 Jaws hit when I was 4/5, Star Wars 6/7. Both had a big impact on my life. Between Jaws and going to the NY Aquarium for my 5th birthday (saw Jaws shortly after) I got on a path to learn marine bio which led me to my career as a science teacher. I may not be doing shark research, but I wouldn't have found my niche without Bruce.
I keep thinking that’s Robert Shaw in the thumbnails about this play UNTIL I read it’s not. I was like “Oh cool, a movie clip or interview of Jaws! Wow this is such clear quality!l
This has me fooled big time; I thought this was gonna be a cheesy musical version of Jaws. But somehow a play about the drama of making the movie is actually a brilliant idea.
I haven't seen it, so I can only judge it from this trailer. The guy playing Shaw is amazing, but the other 2 seem like they are in a SNL skit. Looks really interesting anyway.
i wish Universal would do a Jaws Reboot and include these 3 guys to play the characters with a darker and more intense Rated R horror version of Jaws then the original. It would be cool to see the type of effects and jump surround sounds they could come up with. I would show the flashback scene to the U.S.S. Indianapolis getting torpedoed and the survivors all getting eaten and violently ripped apart on screen by sharks as Ian Shaw tells his father Quint's story of being on it. Steven Spielberg Should produce the movie. I wish he would stop blocking people from making another jaws movie. I really miss that franchise and would love to see a new one with today's effects and creativity.
A reboot is exactly how you’d ruin this movie. It was thunder in a bottle, you can’t get it again, especially given how they’d shoot it in a pool and Bruce would be CGI.
@ManubibiWalsh I understand about rebooting. They should at least make a Jaws 5 sequel. That way, people can get another jaws movie without ruining the original classic. I would still have Ian Shaw star in it as Quints son.
are you kidding: have you seen the crap Hollywood is churning out these days? If they did remake Jaws (Which I have nightmares that they might just damn well do it) then you can guarantee the first thing a "modern" Hollywood writer would do is immediately kill the notion of having three straight white men in the lead roles! Imagine the horror! 3 STRAIGHT WHITE MEN being HERO's...arrrgghhh. Nope: The reboot would feature three DIVERSE Lesbians with mental and physical disabilities, whom would strive to catch the poor misunderstood shark and take it to a Sea-World or some other protective enclave somewhere....!
If you are looking for a reboot with improved visual affects and a gorrier/grittier take on the movie, then I think you completely misunderstand what makes the movie the masterpice/classic that it truly is. In fact, it was the flakey mechanical shark that forced Spielberg to come up with alternative ways to tell the story and create fear for the audience (like shooting directly at water level for instance) Better VFX would do NOTHING to improve the movie.

@frankwest911 Also based on a true story at the Jersey Shore.
Ian is the spitting image of his father!!!
This looks amazing!
Yeah, his father would’ve been proud of him.
One of the best shows I have ever seen on Broadway. Every character was “ flawless”
"Do ya really think they're gonna be talking about this in 40 years??!!"
Um...ya see...about that, Robert...
I was born the year JAWS was released... it's getting closer to 50 according to my joints.
My husband & I saw this yesterday. Thoroughly enjoyed it. 🦈
I'm an old Jaws head from 75... I would so watch this! To think that this is Robert Shaw's son playing him!
Saw this at the Edinburgh Festival. Sold out. Audience were super quiet during Ian's monologue - absolutely uncanny resemblance and amazing acting.
OMG! Ian Shaw is a dead-ringer for his dad!

Can't get over how much Ian resembles his dad, and with the same mannerisms. It's like Robert Shaw reincarnated.

Is that the son of Robert shaw if it is he sounds just like him and is a spitting image thats a god gift than
yeah it is

I'd love to see a local production of this but I'm never going to the East Coast, though... I hear they've got sharks.

The actor playing Chief Brody looks more like Roy Scheider than Roy Scheider did.
Oh, how I wish I didn't live in fucking Denmark. So I could just go watch this.
Bring it to America!!!!
Please tell me you're either bringing this to San Francisco or I can watch it streaming??!!?!?

What is this music they're playing?
dude that Quint/Shaw is uncanny!
Right? I said the same thing. "That guy looks, sounds and acts JUST LIKE Robert Shaw!" (Sees actors name - Understanding is complete)

What if there was Jaws TV show with these guys.
Ian Shaw is definitely Robert's mini me!
It's so awesome
Any chance to get this without having to travel to London?
It's coming to Broadway. I don't know if that's better for you.
Damm i was like how dos that guy look so much like robert shaw then seen its his son 👏🏽 looks great

Pedro Pascal would be a good Quint in a remake of Jaws but let’s hope that never happens

Oh wait it looks like they replaced the guy who plays Richard Dreyfuss. The other guy sounded a lot more like him this guy I’m not sure.
I still say the only actor who could have played Quint better than Shaw was the great Buddy Hackett.
I was thinking Don Rickles...
I thought that was Michael Palin.
I thought that was Michael Palin from Monty Python at first but then I realized he’s too old.
