- From Season 7 of Walt Disney's Disneyland Anthology program we have Episode 12: Horses for Greene which originally aired on January 15th, 1961. It stars Leslie Nielsen, John Sutton, Barbara Eiler and Disney favorites such as Slim Pickens, J. Pat O'Malley, Tim Considine and Hal Stalmaster. The final episode, Part 8, finds Captain Richardson trying to instill some discipline in Marion's volunteer brigades. Marion stops the training long enough to lead a daring raid to capture some much needed horses.

I loved it!
God damn it’s a great feeling to feel like a kid again, and not just being 60 years old 😂
The film quality is fantastic and I only wish that the ‘Swamp Fox’ went onto further episodes!
I really appreciate your work on how you provided a great service to us of the older generation, in reliving some diminishing childhood memories!!!
I’m sort of torn between my two new choices, watching the Daniel Boone or John Slaughter series…😢
It’s just so hard being retired and trying to relive 60 years of REAL entertainment that has been way forgotten.
It really makes you wonder what the hell has happened to the generations of the world of today.
They just don’t understand what it was like in the days of old!
Once again, thanks so much again for warming an old, but appreciative heart.
Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺 ❤😊
Gen. Greene did badger the Swamp Fox for horses and Marion asked for Continental soldiers more often than he was sent them. I like the accurate history that Walt Disney wove into the excitement of this series. Thank you so very much for posting this!
Thanks for watching and for sharing a bit of history. Really helps to enhance the content!
Remember watching it with my brothers when we're younger.
Ol Slim Pickens was as bow legged as the day is long, wasn't he? Did most of his career on horseback.
As was common for films mafe at this time, it seemed that everyone had repeating rifles and revolvers 50 to 60 years before such existed.
yes the swamp fox fight on until the british left the south in late 1782,
He was a remarkable patriot and once was renown and called "The Washington of the South." Any time you run across a county or town named Marion, chances are it was name for the Swamp Fox.
Thank you for posting things haven’t seen him since I was a kid and I hope you plan on putting on the rest of them
I can only post episodes that Disney hasn't released on DVD or their streaming service. Kind of an internal rule for myself. The other three episodes of The Swamp Fox were released on the Walt Disney Treasures series. Do an ebay search and you can find a good copy for around $20-$30. Plus, on that same DVD set you'll get three episodes of Elfego Baca; and the other 7 you can find on this channel! Glad you are enjoying these rare gems!
I had no idea of how serious this war was!
I enjoy these movies n the history
I wonder why they didn't continue with the young man who played Gwen and Roger Healey. I enjoy them so much.
Thank you love all these videos
All right! Glad you enjoy them! Anything else you’d like to see?
I'm old as dirt but haven't seen this until now.
I am too, but this one was good. Disney showed a lot of history and nature programs that were entertaining and educational. Don’t know how accurate tho.
@@marilyntaylor9577 Disney wove the facts in around a good show. Marion had a young cousin name Gabe who was killed when riding as part of Marion's band. He probably had a sweetheart, but I doubt he was killed because of a Continental's coat. That sort of fact and fiction blended.
@@yelloworangered not to sound terribly superficial but this program introduced me to men in knee high boots. I’ve crushed on that look ever since!
a strict Christian warrior Marion was .... wisdom , force & mercy
As John Oller said in this recent biography of Marion (I am paraphrasing): The more you learn about Francis Marion, the more worthy you find him as a man.
Yes !!!!
I enjoyed this series....sorry that it came to sudden end. But, I liked it!
yeah! episode 9
Please tell me again, how many times those colonial flintlock pistols could fire before reloading?? 6 or 10 ??
🤣😆😹
I enjoy those liberties with the facts. I always have to smile because it seems horses were always ridden at top speed everywhere.
Is this the entire series? If not can they be posted in order so one doesn't get lost in the process?
Disney
This should be "Horses for Greene", Nathanael Greene that is.
Oh, typo! Thank you!!
Are there any lists of the men who fought with Marion?
Let me look into this! Great question. I’m about to begin watching this series…
The ZORRO set once again 😀
🤩🤩🤩💖💖
where is episode 9
There were only 8 episodes made!
I watched this as a little boy. It makes me a little sad, knowing the vile, putrid, perverted, disgusting company Disney has become.
Maybe you are the problem
@@jjj1951 No, I know right from wrong. I don't embrace a bunch of deviate freaks. But, obviously you approve of this depravity.
At least Disney isn’t a church run by priests.
@@Americanbear1 No, it's run by a bunch non binary freaks, congratulations
@@Americanbear1 ??????

They sure did. Great history(REAL HISTORY) for our children!
Better woke than DEAD like Walt 🙄
Better Woke than Brain Broke
